Kirk is truly the soloist of the decade and the KH21 is the tool. This system is a simple EMG-81/81 combination wired straight up with two volumes and a master tone. It features a pearl laminate pickguard complemented with black dome knobs.
Except for the fact that you need a 9v battery for every 1000 hours of playing. The quality is amazing its not too hard to set up and looks great. overall i give it four and a half stars.
This made my guitar both look and sound awesome! My guitar needed the cutout in the body around the neck pickup to be opened up more for the humbucker, it was easy with the right tools, but keep that im mind if you are interested in this model. I imagine that's why they made a S-S-H version of this as well. Fender should really make a similar model with active humbuckers, these are great for metal, every string is more defined when playing clean or distorted. I really couldn't say what this does for other styles of guitar playing, but for metal... this rocks! I should have done this upgrade a long time ago.
