Product Information

The EMG-81 is a high-output pickup designed especially for the lead guitarist. The 81 is at its best for high volume overdrive and amps with a master volume. Whether you're playing power rock 'n' roll, or overdriving your amp, there's a razor sharp attack, and incredible sustain for brilliant soloing. If you're looking for exceptional qualities in a rock pickup, the EMG-81 is the one.

Distortion during lead passages is consistent, sustain is long and the breakup fades smoothly. The ceramic magnet in combination with wide aperture steel poles lend a quick attack but the tone stays nice and fat at the same time. Perfect if you're the only guitarist in the band, and need to switch from rhythm to lead and still keep the band moving. Another great thing about the EMG-81 is it's quiet. If you're playing at really high gain the last thing you need is noise.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

Killer Pickups

I was trying these out with a Godin guitar I was playing. Killer tone. Don't even waste your money on anything else. These just kick butt. Crystal clear tone, and hopefully these will last a long time. These things will tear down your walls.

KILLER PICKUPS!

I have an dozens of guitars and every last one them include EMG pickups and Floyd Rose tremolo. The EMG 81 makes a killer bridge pickup and a very nice neck pickup. If you're more metal than it would be good to get one in the neck and one in the bridge but if you prefer to be more versitale then get and 81 in the bridge and a 60 in the neck. (EMG 60s are better than the 85s because the get clear cleans and heavier distortion when needed)

awesome pickups

absolute killer tone, and with high distortion you can rock out to about anything from van halen to pantera. the one and only downside is the installation wich unless you already have an EMG installed, you have to replace the tone, volume, and input wich takes awile to dobut i still COMPLETLY worth it.

Best bridge pickup ever

This is by far the best bridge pickup you can get. Im a lead guitarist and i Use the 81 in the bridge and an 85 or 60 in the neck. This pickup sounds very clean, MUCH better than the seymour duncan blackouts. Active EMGS sounding sterile is not true, active EMGS have more tone and power than passive pickups anyday. I used to use a seymour duncan JB in the bridge and a seymour duncan 59 in the neck and i eventually grew tired of it so i started using active emgs and boy that was a huge change. Get this pickup and stick it in the bridge, believe me, it will not let you down.

Freakin Awesome

I got the white ones of these and they make my guitar sound amazing. I put them in an Epiphone Les Paul Standard and they just make the sound so hard but clear at the same time. I absolutely love them and recommend them to anyone looking for nice pickups. (the only downside is they use a lot of energy so you have to replace your battery about every 3 months)
