  • Great Sound

    I installed the pickup myself which was a breeze. They have changed the endpin jack to a regular threaded jack which requires you to put your arm thru the soundhole to attach and tighten the nut onto the endpin (would have been easier with thinner arms) but I though that would be an improvement over the jack shown. I was a bit anxious about drilling a 1/2 inch hole, but bought a new unibit at Home Depot so it would be sharp and went thru with no issues. A couple of quick connects and you're live. I had to do very little adjustments of the pickups - The EMG website recommends removing the b-string pickup completely and lowering the hi-e pickup below the surface because they are otherwise very loud. But other than that it was pretty much plug and play. Nice warm sound that I get raw from my 36 year old Alvarez Yari. Very pleased.
