    there's already a review about how it sounds in the neck, and yes i agree totally amazing. but in the of my epiphone les paul (zakk wylde) its the perfect pick up. people think the 81 is good but i had that in my bridge but when i thought it sounded to thin i got curious. its well rounded in the bridge and bright. also it's EXTREMELY versitile, neck or bridge i wouldnt have anyother pickup and im now going for a 60x/60x combo

    This is one heck of a pick up. I love its tone that it brings. It is a full rich bluesy crunchy sounding pick up. I love it and I'm finding myself playing on it more than the 81-X. This is a pick up for metalheads like myself. It is also really good for spacey type of rock like played in the 1970's especially with a delay and phaser effects. This pick up is fat and phat.

  • Awesome Pickup!!

    I put this in the Neck position of my ESP LTD M-1000 and I absolutely love the tone. I play through a Line 6 Spider Valve 212. I have never played with an EMG 60 so I can't say for sure what the extra headroom has done for it. However, this pickup produces warm clean tones and dark but mellow distorted tones in the neck position. The EMG exclusive Solderless Quik-Connect system is an awesome idea. My guitar already had EMGs to start with so I didn't have to use it, but this system would make wiring possible for the average person. Once set up, changing pickups is as simple as unpluging the old one and plugging in the new one.
