The MicroBass II is a powerful, versatile tool for bassists, with functions that include an active direct box, a one- or two-channel preamp, and an A/B switcher/blender. The two channels provide sound shaping from high-end, solid-state types to distorted timbres using the tube-emulation circuitry found in the EBS range of bass amp heads. An incorporated effects loop offers even more flexibility for connecting other effects or for mixing in an external audio source.
The balanced output with speaker simulator option provides unmatched flexibility in live and studio situations. Footswitches control mute and channel operation/switching.
Other features of the MicroBass II include headphone output; low battery indicator; link and master outputs; bass, sweepable midrange, treble, bright, and edge filters; drive and effects mix controls.

Comments about EBS MicroBass II Bass Preamp Pedal:
If I had to pick a single piece of gear to gig with, this would be it! This thing is really a condensed amplifier head without the power section. For use as a DI, it has the adjustability and tone quality of a full-blown amp. I love being able to go straight to the PA mixing console and not having to worry what amp is available, or dragging my amp around everywhere. For practicing and playing with my settings, the headphone output is perfect. I can dial in my sound without having to be hooked up to an Amp or PA. Then when I get to the venue to hook up, the only thing that needs to be set is the overall volume. The FX loop is exactly what I was looking for to be able to add in delay and modulation effects downstream of my gain and drive. Speaking of which, using the A+B mode adds a great overdrive tone when switching in the B channel. On top of the great performance of the unit, the manufacturer support is top notch as well. I bought mine used, and broke a switch while modifying the pedal myself. EBS practically bent over backwards to help me get it fixed. Couldn't ask for a better product or better company!
