Great price- great high end

These boxes are great. I fell in love with Dyn's a few years ago at a friends studio- so when it came time to upgrade my home studio, bm5a's and a mac pro were the first things I got. The high end is fantastic- the clarity will have you hearing things you never heard before in beloved songs. They tend to be a tad boomy in the 140 range- but that is pretty common for small boxes- they have good lows and good punch for the size and I can listen to them 8 hours straight without wearing out my ears. These have really helped me step up my mixes- I would highly recomend them.

Superb Sound!!

After upgrading my studio to a G5 and getting a few DAWs, the next logical step was finding quality monitors. After breaking in my KRK Rockit(RP5s) for a few months, I realized that the ultimate clarity was lacking in my mixes. After talking to a few other heads in the Drum'N'Bass community, the Dynaudio name constantly popped up. I tested the BM5A's against the often recommended MackieHR 824s, and those futuristic new JBLs..and needless to say the BM5A's put the others to shame. The utmost clarity and balance is what you can expect from these monitors. I HIGHLY recommend giving these a listen ASAP.

Big sound from a little package

I spent a lot of time listening to many different monitors before I purchased a pair of Dynaudio BM5A's. I wanted monitors that would have good bottom end, but would also allow my tracks to show their true identity. After narrowing to four or five different 8" monitors, I noticed that I had to choose between acuracy and bottom end. After expressing my veiws, the salesman pointed out the BM5A's. I was so set on a 8" monitor that I almost missed what I was looking for. I was pleased with the sound of the monitors while listening at the Guitar Center, but experienced true happiness once I set them up in my home studio and noticed a pure sounding monitor that has the bottom end I was looking for. I spent more than I wanted on these monitors, but saved overall because no subwoofer is needed.

Sweet, but accurate

I got these when the bottomless, fatiguing sound of my classic Yamahas became more than my damaged, aging ears could stand. I wanted detail, accuracy, bottom end, non-fatiguing sound, and the ability to enjoy my mixes when they're done. These delivered in every respect. I can mix for long periods of time, spot problems easily, and hear the details on my commercial CD's that I could never pick out before. These are a joy to work with and just to listen to my old favorites on. If you can put off purchasing monitors long enough to save up for these, I HIGHLY recommend it. A matching subwoofer is available if you need it.

Very good monitor for the price

These are very usable studio monitors. They are find-tuned with the latest Dynaudio technology. I have found that they are very flat providing an accurate representation of the project. I was able to hook these up in my friend?s studio and get great accurate representations of our projects in minutes. They are built well and they are a good value for the price.
