Just today i tried these picks at my friends house. They belong to his brother and he is an amazing shredder. I can see why. These Dunlop Tortex Jazz Picks are so much better than 357's. They are smaller and they're a lot easier to grip. I find myself struggling to hold on to standard picks. I had no problem with these. They also are easier to create pinch harmonics with. Overall, amazing picks!

So . . . my son found these Jazz III picks. They are very small, thick and have some texture on them, due to the embossed writing on them. I really like the size, but he plays bass and I play acoustic. I researched these picks and thought they were very similar. Unfortunately, .50mm in a regular sized pick is not the same in this smaller sized pick. The pick is too thick/stiff, it doesn't compare to the bendability of a regular sized .50mm pick. Also, it does not have embossed writing on them, so they can slip out of your hand easier. Mostly, I would say, try them before you buy them.

ANNIHILATE.....All strings who stand in their way

By jon

from Florida

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

These picks are superb in every way! They are no bigger than they need to be, No thicker than they need to be, and so smoothe yet so gripping. I play Trivium, Children of Bodom, and some other Technical Metal bands, plus my own stuff so i need something thin enough to not fight me, flexable enough to chug away, and small enough to not take up uneccesary space, the 1.14mm are perfect for that! Keep in mind ive been switching between a Dunlop Gatorgrip 2.0mm and a dunlop Tortex Reg .60mm, so this is the perfect balance. Pick up a pack you wont regret it! \m/ Rock on

The Best Picks on the Market

By Dustin

from locust grove, oklahoma

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

These are the very best picks, I recommend them to any one. beginner or not, these picks will improve your playing by 10x the sharp tips eliminate string noise, there for you hear more guitar and less string. they are perfect for all types of playing the thicker is more for rhythm and thinner is lead. By far these are my favorite picks yet try them.

fantastic pick

By freddyb

from washougal, wa

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

for the small size of this pick i find that it suits my style well. The pick stays in place longer due to the thick size and it allows for faster picking with less noise. Dunlop has done it right again!

AWESOME

By ~Ducky~

from Charlotte, NC

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

small, light, good grip, fast, slow wearing, hard but flexable, available in most stores so when you run out you don't have to hunt for them (they're made by Dunlop so don't worry about them going extinct either. If it's one thing I hate, it's getting use to a product and then having it become ireplaceable or impossible to find. Based on others I know using this pick, that aint gonna happen anytime soon.) GREAT pick, invest in these. I hope this becomes the new standard pickshape for the industry because 357's... I'm sorry, but the industry isn't playing The Beatles anymore. We have music that's high on caffiene and we need a pick to keep up and THIS IS IT.

like wide track tires on hot asphalt

By tony1bologna

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

i love these picks and recommend them for anyone who doesn't plan on doing allot of strumming. this pick is for the fast and the furious. i've been using them a few years now and can't stand using anything else for fast picking and heavy palm muting. always keep one in my wallet so i never find myself being handed a strange guitar in a strange place without my own traction control. bought 1 of every guitar pick in a store.. but stopped trying them out at this one. \m/ \m/

Even better then the originals

By Eric

from New Jersey

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

I have been using the jazz III picks for over two years and I cant say Ive ever found a better pick, until now. The new texture with the jazz III shape is a match made in heaven. They are very easy to hold onto, they are the best for getting pinch harmonics, and they cut out all the unnecessary space at the back of most other styles of picks. Overall, the best pick I have ever found.

Awesome Picks

By tyler

from Virginia

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

It doesn't mention this in the description but these picks are metal. It's impossible to destroy these picks, no matter how hard you pick scrape. I just bought these picks yesterday and there just an overall good set of picks. They're easy to hold on to and indestructible, is there any more you could ask for in a pick?

Excellent Picks!

By SPC Redlin

from IRAQ

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

Perfect for shredding, plus they're tiny and cute. But seriously, shredding has never been this easy, once you get past the hand-cramping associated with larger than a six-year-old's hands. They will slip out of your hand, which helps build awareness of the feel, in my personal opinion. These picks make Shredding come alive with harmonics and string-skipping I could never accomplish with standard picks. They are also strong as hell (been using the same pick for about 4 hours a day for a month, and barely seeing any wear on the edge). BUY THESE!!!

Favorite guitar pick so far

By Flash445

from Houston, TX

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

I tried Dunlop's Tortex picks on a recommendation and liked them. Next, I tried their Jazz III picks since a guitarist I liked used them, and I liked those even more. I had a problem with them however as I would sometimes lose my grip on them. These Tortex Jazz picks are like a combination of the two picks and everything I could have asked for in a pick, love them!

The Epic Review-Dunlop Tortex Jazz Picks

By Derioth II

from Kansas City, Missouri

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

These things are just about the best guitar picks I've ever used. Anything better than these are, my friend, imaginary. These stay in your fingers even when they are sweaty, they are nice and tough; they don't snap unless you hammer them with a chisel. They are compact, and aren't big and bulky like the standards. These are very good guitar picks for even non-jazz players. See what I play under my name? Jazz is not included. These picks are great for all 'round playing. Acoustic, classical, electric, bass, you name it. These are the greatest. And I'm the most opinionated. Hopefully not. Anyways, I really suggest getting these picks to enlarge your vast guitar pick library. "Dey awre da BOMB!!!"

Cool, but Very Small

By Sampson

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

I should have done my research, but I didn't realize how small these picks are. There are quite a bit smaller than normal picks (1" tall x 7/8" wide). If you are expecting a normal size pick keep this in mind. I wish this had been in the item description, which is why I'm writing the review.

Andy Timmons can't be wrong

By Tim McGuire

from Denver, CO

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

I had switched to these picks after watching an Andy Timmons video explaining how much he believes in them. I used the 1.14 and love them. This and the 3.0 Big Stubby are my picks of choice. Get rid of the big thin picks and you will not be sorry.

Comments about Dunlop Tortex Pitch Black Jazz Guitar Picks 1 Dozen:

These picks are perfect for players that play with the tip of there picks, and need to achieve a more technical approach.
I find they also reduce unwanted pick noise and achieve proper dynamics as well as sweep clean and crisp across the strings.
