Perfect for Drop A/Ab/G on a 26.5" scale 7-string

Comments about Dunlop Super Bright 7-String Electric Guitar Strings (9-62):

I bought these strings because I thought they would be a good match for Drop A and Drop Ab tuning on my Schecter Hellraiser C-7. This is a 26.5" scale 7-string with a mahogany body, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and EMG 707TW active pickups. The longer scale length means string tension is increased, and 9's on this guitar feel like a set of 10's on a standard 25.5" scale guitar. And the relatively thick 7th string (a typical 7-string set of 9's has a 0.054" 7th string, but this has a 0.062") means that good tension is retained for drop tunings with the 7th string tuned down a full step relative to the other strings. Tension remains very good from Drop A tuning down to Drop Ab. Drop G is playable but not ideal -- the bottom strings start to get a bit "floppy". Going any lower you will definitely want a thicker set of strings. These strings are a bit brighter than typical, as expected by the "super bright" designation. But they are not in any way shrill or harsh, and because my Schecter has a mahogany body (with no maple cap), a mahogany neck, and relatively dark EMG 707TW pickups (compared to the more common 81-7/85-7 set), they are perfectly suited. Now if only they made a 10-70 set for Drop G and Drop F# tunings....
