This wah pedal is amazing. Over the last two months i have played with 3 wahs, overall this is the most pleasing. This wah goes great with ANY style of music. It gives the greatest tones and even has built in distortion. You may not even like the overdrive but it sounds amazing even without it. So go buy one now!!! you wont be disappointed.

I had gotten this wah a few years ago before I had the gear knowledge that I did now. It is a fun addition to the pedalboard and certainly has had its uses. It has a pretty decent range which allows me to give some nice sweepable swells.

The downside is that the distortion has been completely useless with any amps i have owned (vox valvetronix, marshall mg100hdfx, bugera v22, and my current Engl Powerball 2). It also has a pretty audible pop when you engage and disengage the pedal. Not terrible, but for the price you should check out a few other options.

Comments about Dunlop SW-95 Cry Baby Slash Wah Pedal:

Just a follow up to my recent review of this pedal: The text on the underside of this wah says it is the Crybaby Classic with the addition of a distortion circuit. An article in the October 2015 issue of Guitar World magazine confirms that the SW-95 Slash signature Crybaby is really just the GCB95F Crybaby Classic with the addition of the distortion circuit, candy apple red paint, and LEDs. It was not specially revoiced or anything. It uses the same Fasel inductor, same wah circuit. The wah circuit is the same as in the GCB95F.
If you can live without those extras (the LEDs sure are handy but I'm not impressed with the distortion and no one who listens to my songs on soundcloud cares that my wah pedal is candy apple red), then you can save a pile of money by just buying the GCB95F.

Best Wah pedal, for GNR

By Jacob

Comments about Dunlop SW-95 Cry Baby Slash Wah Pedal:

I got this as a present awhile back and first off i didn't use it, i went to the internet and read about peoples experience and it was flooded with hate and it was screechy and annoying and the distortion was terrible, after reading this i was hesitant about using it however i plugged it in to my Acoustic G120 DSP, and it was horrifying, it was screeching making just god awful noises, so i tended to the switches and knobs and adjusted them just a tad so they weren't maxed and it sounded beautiful, the distortion was great and the wah was classic and crisp, this pedal is perfect for any gnr song as well as other songs belonging to blues, or even Metallica for some songs. Like all the other custom versions of wah i have tried including the Kirk Hammett and many others i like the tone to this one a lot more probably just because its appealing to me, i love this pedal and recommend it to anyone considering buying it.

BEST WAH PEDAL!!! PLEASE READ REVIEW

Comments about Dunlop SW-95 Cry Baby Slash Wah Pedal:

This pedal is amazing. Everything from the distortion circuit to the beautiful cherry red color. I have bought this pedal from GC online and it is yet to disappoint! The distortion circuit boosts the wah and it does create some hiss, but that is on a horrible amp with no smart gate pedal. I have the gain at around 10 o'clock and the volume at 12 o'clock and it works! BUT DON"T TURN UP ALL THE WAY!! It makes a screeching noise. This pedal is awesome. The wah sounds like slash himself!! I recommend getting this pedal if you are a Slash lover!!! I got it and I have loved it everyday since. The price is a bit costly, but, for me, it is completely worth it! GET IT NOW!!

Comments about Dunlop SW-95 Cry Baby Slash Wah Pedal:

This pedal was a huge dissapointment! Terrible tone! I play through a Marshal with a PRS Custom and it just produces the worst noise. The feed back doesn't even stop if I turn my volume on my guitar all the way down. HORRIBLE waste of money. I have the Kirk Hammet Wah and that one is GREAT! Sorry for the bad review but people need to know.

Comments about Dunlop SW-95 Cry Baby Slash Wah Pedal:

The SW-95 has been my wah of choice for more than five years and is a great addition to anyone's set-up. Even though it's geared more towards aggressive playing styles, it still maintains a high level of versatility for most genres and tones.

While the wah tone isn't as smooth as say, the KH-95, it's niche is that is has more bite and cuts through the mix better than many of the wahs on the market without sounding thin or nasally.

The most common complaint that I've read is that the distortion channel can't be used unless the wah is engaged. This isn't a stand-alone distortion pedal. The distortion setting produces great tones, and is the more underrated feature of this pedal. When used with a clean tone, the distortion setting favors the wah more, so it sounds like a wah being used in front of a distortion pedal. When used with an amp's distortion or an OD pedal, this channel can serve as a great boost. Players will need to dial back the volume and gain of the pedal, but that goes without saying.

The pedal is very durable. In the time that I've owned it, I haven't had to repair it once. The battery life is surprisingly long, despite it requiring two 9 volt batteries. The LED lights indicating when the wah/distortion are engaged is also a great feature. I can't recommend this pedal enough.

      Half and half

      By Michael Sorenson

      from Georgia

Comments about Dunlop SW-95 Cry Baby Slash Wah Pedal:

This was a pedal that I was dying to have for a long time cause I was such a fan of Slashs wah solos, and the wah is a big part of my style. When I got it for Christmas in 2011 I was in love with it the first time I plugged it in. It was working fine for about 3 months, but then the sound started fading (regardless of new batteries or not) and the LED lights would stop working while it was engaged, and then I would try turning it off and back on, then it wouldn't work at all. It only now works intermittently, or it has to have a power adapter plugged in. I was extremely disappointed with how quickly it gives out, when Dunlop ensures long time quality. I would recommend this with caution, because this isn't the first time I've heard of one giving out so early. Other than all the issues I had, the sound was just as the tone slash would get.

      Slash Fuzz Wah SW-95

      By Edward St Andre

Comments about Dunlop SW-95 Cry Baby Slash Wah Pedal:

I have had it only a couple weeks and I love it. I think its more Fuzz than Distortion if you set it up right and have good equipment you should have no problem with it. The color also is super cool. Great vocal sound also buy the 18 volt adapter.
