Overview

The original Crybaby Q-Zone effect pedal has been a mainstay on Kerry King's pedal board through years of tours and recording sessions. Its unique design allows Kerry to create a focused and penetrating "fixed-wah" lead tone to cut through a band as thick as Slayer. Years after discontinuing the original, the Q-Zone has now been reborn as the KFK Q-Zone pedal with all its tried and true controls intact and sporting a wicked KFK tattoo graphic. Use the Volume (up to +18dB), Q-Zone (frequency breadth), and Peak (frequency center) controls to sculpt and set the perfect lead sweet spot. The Q-Zone's weighted, "stay-put" knobs keep your settings stable and its heavy-duty casing, jacks, and pots ensure a lifetime of use. This is a numbered, limited-edition Dunlop pedal.

Awesome!! beats my botique pedals

By netscriber

Comments about Dunlop KFKQZ1 Kerry King Limited Edition Q Zone Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal really surprised me. It is built sturdier than my botique vexter fuzz factory. Perhaps Kerry King has something to do with the build quality too. It sounds awesome. It has quickly become the favorite pedal on my pedal board. I am so stoked!!!

What an Overdrive?

By Pedalbored

Comments about Dunlop KFKQZ1 Kerry King Limited Edition Q Zone Guitar Effects Pedal:

Okay this pedal is awesome first off. The volume knob is for lead boosts and the Q knob for the wah sound tone. The peak knob acts like the actual foot pedal on a standard wah its pretty awesome but i mean its exactly a wah wah pedal just at a set designed area of the wah so no hassles on stage rocking your foot around. I use it for more of a treble booster and kinda of a toe down wah setting but a lil up to let the wah sound come through more. Only down side is at this point it cuts a lil bass but that was no problem thanks to my MXR M-108 10 band EQ pedal so now i have that desired fixed wah sound with the thick bottom end i like to. Like my music like i like my women thick bottom ends and screaming! For those Metal heads out there looking at OD pedals to boost the Distortion just get this and an EQ pedal if ya dont already. You wont regret it.

Great for Bass

By A.J.

Comments about Dunlop KFKQZ1 Kerry King Limited Edition Q Zone Guitar Effects Pedal:

I didn't buy this pedal because it was Kerry King or anything to do with signature pedals. This pedal is great for finding the perfect "still" wah tone that your looking for. I use the Dunlop 105Q Bass wah with this pedal to add a double filtered effect. Because this was made for a standard guitar, you do lose a lot of low-end; but if you roll the "peak" knob more counter-clockwise, then you get a little bit of low-end rumble. To me, this pedal works more as a "tone" then just a wah or filter pedal. You can get really creative with this pedal after you spend some time messing around with it.

Great for rhythm tone as well as lead

By FossyFoster

from Cleveland OH

Comments about Dunlop KFKQZ1 Kerry King Limited Edition Q Zone Guitar Effects Pedal:

The reviews all over the web say that this pedal is great for leads, but it works great for rhythm tones as well. I've found that by setting the Q-Zone knob at positions less than 12:00 so that a less pronounced wah sound is created it is possible to get equalization close to Van Halen and also Lynch's rhythm sounds, probably just about any player that you want to sound like as well. The 18dB of boost combined with the amazing EQ range and bandwidth have made the original Q-Zone my only "clean booster" for the last nine years. I haven't used a stompbox EQ pedal or any other pedal as a clean booster for all that time. I think it's also easier to get a nice sounding EQ curve with this than an equalizer; it eliminates some of the guesswork and random experimentation. Of course it can also be used to get those "half-wah" lead tones that I first heard from Schenker and Ronson - at the press of a button without tuning in the pedal for the first three notes of your solo. This may sound trivial, but the first time that I ignited the Q-Zone for a solo while playing in a band situation I was blown away; INSTANT Schenker tone with no foot tweeking! I like my old Q-Zone so much that I ordered the Kerry King pedal as a back up!

Great for leads

By Brandon Lee

from Memphis TN

Comments about Dunlop KFKQZ1 Kerry King Limited Edition Q Zone Guitar Effects Pedal:

Let me tell you this pedal is great for leads. It may take sometime to find the sweet spot but when you do your leads will take on a whole new life. I know Kerry King may not be the best lead player but the dude must know tone. Don't let the fact it's a signature pedal scare you away. If you have been looking for something to help you cut through the mix with your leads look to this pedal.
