Amazing

By JOHN MARCELINO

from California

Comments about Dunlop Heavy Core Electric Guitar Strings - Heaviest Gauge:

I just strung this onto my Dean a few days ago and I'm really surprised on how these strings are! I mainly play on standard but I decided to try out different tunings and found Tune D and Tune C# is perfect with these strings. I mainly play thrash metal and these strings gave it that extra thickness to the sound, making my palm mutes and power chords really rich. I recommend these for of course Drop tunings as it stays pretty tight even on Tune B or Drop B, so pick these up, you won't regret it.

HEAVY!

By Paul McElreath

Comments about Dunlop Heavy Core Electric Guitar Strings - Heaviest Gauge:

I got these to try something different. I really like the attack and tightness of these in reference to D'Addario that I still use. Would like to see a '13' set or at least some singles. Probably will buy and use these in the future.

AMAZING STRINGS BUT....

By Travis

from Peoria, AZ

Comments about Dunlop Heavy Core Electric Guitar Strings - Heaviest Gauge:

These strings are awesome for drop tuning. I play in drop c and I had no problems with anything except that the sustain of these strings wasn't very good thats why I had to give em 4 stars. I also wish that they would come out with a set with a .56 on the low e string. Keep it up dunlop!!!!

BROOTAL!!!

By ian cid

from Los Angeles CA

Comments about Dunlop Heavy Core Electric Guitar Strings - Heaviest Gauge:

my band has always tried different tunings from drop D all the way to drop A. now were comfortably in the middle in drop C. i love the low end heaviness of playing in drop A, but i like the clear articulate tone from playing in drop D. these strings are the perfect balance of heaviness and crystal clear tone! every chugg hits you like a shotgun blast, every note is precise and clear, its well balanced and doesnt feel all floppy and weak like regular gauge strings when your playing in those dropped tunings. so they not only feel better for dropped tunings, they improve your tone and overall presence. so if you like your tone BRUTAL, AGGRESSIVE, and CLEAR, these are the strings for YOU.

Comfortable at down tunings

By Erik

from Cleveland, OH

Comments about Dunlop Heavy Core Electric Guitar Strings - Heaviest Gauge:

These are pretty specialized. E standard: not recommended. The tension in E is noticeably higher than normal. Barre chords will cut you. Bending is harder. You can still play but it's less comfortable. Drop D: Okay. 6th string feels good, but since 5th string is not downtuned it's still extremely tense. Not awful, but there are better sets for this tuning. D standard: YES!!! This is what these are made for. The thicker high strings are a matter of preference. If you have big strong (clumsy) fingers these feel much more controlled than 9s or 10s. Drop C, C standard: These strings still get floppy this low. I wouldn't use them much for this, better to go thicker than 54.

VERY VERY HEAVY

By David S,

from Houston, TX

Comments about Dunlop Heavy Core Electric Guitar Strings - Heaviest Gauge:

I installed these strings on my schecter damien and is sounds just as heavy as my seven string schecter. they sound so heavy that i mainly play my six instead of my seven. Strings stay in tune well but you just need to do minor tunings overall great buy recommend to anyone.
