So like pretty much every other fan of classic or psychedelic rock I needed some wah. So I researched and tested like mad for a couple weeks. Went to the different guitar shops around town and tested every wah pedal they had. I had originally leaned towards an autowah ruled those out quickly because of the lack of control over the sound. Eventually I settled on the Dunlops. They were all good but the original didn't quite do it and the Slash wah had to much other stuff on it. I had a good amp and distortion pedal so all I needed was a good wah pedal. Then I tried the Fasel. The heavens opened, angels sang, and doves flew overhead dopping pure gold guitar picks all across the land. But back in the store I'd found my pedal. It has such a perfect vintage sound and a really broad expression range. The tone didn't have dead spots at all when the pedal was rocked back and forth like I noticed with a few other pedals. The Crybaby w/ Fasel is my favorite pedal and I use it in almost every song. It's great, when you pair it with heavy distortion you can get real hard rock metal screams and when using a clean amp and a little palm muting you can play all the old funk music. You know...the giggity-giggity kind. Great pedal. Perfect sound. 5/5

I've had a good 3 Cry Babys in the past, and I've been happy with all 3. But this Fasel feature attracted my attention, so I went back to the store to exchange my "Classic" for the Fasel hours after the initial purchase, as I realized the latter was available. Construction quality and clarity of sound were noticeable right away. But also an unwanted boost in volume came on the moment I kicked it on. The increase was dry, not really a "gain" with some grit, but just a louder volume that would throw off all my previous settings. The sound just got too loud in an unpleasant way, and I couldn't find any alternative gain/volume settings in the chain to compensate for this and avoid drowning other instruments in the band or mix. Maybe a volume control would be perfect for this otherwise beautiful sounding legend. Sometimes I want less volume for a sound already enhanced by gain based pedals.

Crybaby Classic with Fasel Inductor

By CDOG of D.V.P.

from Bolinas, Ca.

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

I love my Crybaby Classic wah pedal. It produces all the classic wah tones you would expect from a Crybaby. Its built like a tank so I believe this pedal will be handed down from father to son , or daughter and so fourth. I only have one gripe about the pedal, its an old gripe. Sometimes its hard to tell if the pedal is on or off, or it gets stuck in a postion that allows no sound at all!! The edition of a LED indicator light would have been helpful. I'm hoping with more and more use the switch will be less finicky. Truth be told the tone of this pedal is well worth the switch hassels.

Nice features, but not for me

By Anonymous

from Yardley, PA

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

This wah has some great features; it's built like a tank (and in the USA), it has true bypass, and a Fasel inductor. Also, the battery is easy to change, unlike the Crybaby Original. However, this thing just sounded terrible to me. I tried it in front of my overdrive and distortion, after, without, etc. The pedal actually seemed to be nonresponsive to some areas on my fretboard. It also colored my tone horribly when on (typical with a wah, but this was excessive). The true bypass kept it from coloring my tone when off, at least. I bought this knowing, based on features, that I wanted this wah. I didn't try it in the store first because they were busy and I was short on time. I should have. Although it looked great on paper (and in online sound samples) it wasn't the wah for me. I returned it, and heard others were returning it as well. I strongly recommend testing this wah at the store before purchasing.

Cryin for Joy

By HowlinWolfCryBabyMaster

from Huntersville, Nc

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

Well I got this pedal quite some time ago, and like most people while searching for a wah wah, I was curious. There are alot of choices and I didn't know where to start. I tried numerous CryBaby pedals, but when I came across this one it was like magic. It easily fits into almost any genre that you want classic wah tone. It sounds directly out of the 60's, however blends easily into the new age. It has such a classic amazing tone that once you start playing you really can't stop playing it

Awesome Wah

By Will

from Plano, TX

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

This is the greatest wah ever! It sounds great with any sound or guitar, however, I found it very hard to turn on without giving it a good stomp. It's also kinda tough to plug in. But otherwise this a great pedal and I reccomend it for anybody.

Not Durable

By Jacob Diaz

from pasadena texas

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

I had it for just over a month then it started to crash and would cut the sound right in the middle of a jam... I couldn't return it because i didn't get the insurance for it which was stupid of me... and i tried to change the battery multiple times but still it doesn't work although for the first few weeks it was pretty fun to miss with but still now i have a broken wah petal and am now a hundred bucks down... i wouldn't recommend buying it without the insurance

Classic baby!

By Dillon

from Riverside, CA

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

Overall, I like this pedal. Howerver, I agree with the some of the other reviews. This pedal could use led power indicator. And the power receptor is kind of offset funny, causing me to have to use an individule power adptor for just this pedal. This is a nice pedal although, great sound and durable construction.

Dunlop Crybaby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah

By Sperley

from WA

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

I've spent a few good hours playing with atleast 7 or 8 different wah pedals in this same price range, and this is by far the best. Sure, it's not the smoothest pedal to turn on and off, but the tone definately makes up for it. However, I've found that she doesn't cry to her full potential with smaller amps and practice amps. The only way to really pull that perfect tone is with a half cab or even a full stack. But even on the smaller amps, she sounds fantastic.

Really great WAH

By Zach

from Arnold, MO

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

I'm rather new to this whole deal, playing for a year and a half. I got this wah for x-mas last year, and It was great. I run it through a Line 6 Spider III, it sounds good with the amp's insane setting. I have gotten a Kirk Hammett like wah sound for some songs I use it for. No problems, also I think it will last.

Killer Wah

By Reid

from Brookline, N.H.

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

I've been playing for about two years and i thought it was about time to get a wah pedal. So i tried alot of dunlop wahs and i liked this one the best. So when my B-day came around i got this and I absolutely love it. I can get alot of kirk hammett, slash, and randy rhoads wah sounds out of it. Alot of people say it has scratchy pots, but i cant hear any scratchiness. Another plus is its made by dunlop, so u can guarantee lifetime sturdiness. So if your looking for a great wah, buy this pedal.

Cant beat the classic

By born a crybaby

from stamford, CT

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

this was the wah-wah that made classics like "white room" and "voodoo child", and after playing it i can see why. this pedal is just simple, raw, edgy, 100% unfiltered wah-wah sound. you just cant beat it. the only downside is that if you manipulate this while applying weight to your foot, the effect turns off. so if ur ever playing at a club or something, dont lean on it with all your weight. but overall, plugged through a boss distortion pedal and tube amp, you will easily turn heads

Get something better

By Will Getz

from New Jersey

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

Don't get me wrong, the Crybaby Classic Fasel Wah is a fantastic pedal. The sound definitely gives off a 60's, 70's kind of feel and is simple to use. But if I were you, I'd spend the extra money and buy the Dunlop Crybaby 95Q, which is $20 more than this pedal. The reason is, that first the Crybaby Classic has a switch. It's a pain. Every time you put your foot on the pedal you have to click the pedal in to activate it. The 95Q is switchless, when you put your foot on and press down on the pedal its automatically on, and it turns off once your foot releases. Also, the 95Q has a lead boost, the classic has nothing but the wah. The 95q allows you to edit tone, etc. of the sound. Overall, both are great pedals but spend the extra 20 bucks. Don't be like me and buy this first, than realize you wanted the 95.

Like it better than my Vox

By tietjen

from minneapolis, mn

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

Dunlop Crybaby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal. I like my Vox wah but I prefered this one. I owned the crybaby for 5 years until the pot died. I replaced the pot but it was never the same. I bought the Vox to replace it and wished it had the features and sound of the crybaby.

'60's tone without a whole in your pocket

By Andrew90

from Tampa, FL

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

This wah has the tone that defined the 60's. To get the old ones though, it costs a lot of money. This is the tone without the pretty penny. It also has a true bypass, so your amp tones arent affected in any way. Great wah pedal.

What is there to hate about this wah?

By Rob

from Southern California

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby Classic Fasel Inductor Wah Pedal:

i bought this today, i was going into buy a Dunlop Cry Baby original but the clerk there recommended this one. I must say, im very impressed. The tone of it is great. I dont know if has bypass or not but i couldn't hear any difference in tone. This is a pedal that I'm going to keep for a very long time. If you buy this pedal, expect nothing less or more than your average wah. I don't know that much about the difference of a Vox wah or a Dunlop wah but im very happy with my purchase. This is a great pedal, its built to withstand a war zone, which is basically what my equipment go through. This is one sexy pedal. You won't regret buying it.
