The Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Multi-Wah pedal is the first item I've rated a perfect 5.0. I walked into Guitar Center, looking to buy a DigiTech Jimi Hendrix pedal but when I stumbled across this, I was truely blown away. I always loved the original Dunlop Crybaby, but now with custom changable options, I couldn't pass this up! I've used this thing on the road and it is a tank, I don't see this thing ever breaking. You have 2 boosters for the EQ, a Q knob for a bunch of different modes and a volume boost that really comes in handy. You can get pretty much all those other wah's into this ONE pedal. I bought it at first also because Adam Jones of Tool uses it and now I see why! Another great thing is it's bypass, if it's turned off, you get the same perfect signal and it just goes great. A truely great pedal, I highly recommend it!

Decent wah but I promise you, it will break. Be prepared to add 20 to 50 to whatever you pay after a couple years. My wah is just a couple years old and When it's on it works but when I switch it off there's no sound at all. It needs a new switch. Dunlop will fix it for 50 plus shipping or you can buy the switch for 20 and do it yourself.
I'm no touring musician. I played this wah a bunch when I got it, then about once every couple months just in my living room. It broke under that kind of usage. I'd look elsewhere.

The mechanism is incredibly squeaky while rocking the pedal back and forth. Incredibly annoying. Sounds great though.

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

I bought my 535Q when it first came out. It was one of the first variable wahs on the market. I like it for the most part. It takes a lot of experience with it to dial in your favorite wah tone(s). In my experience, I changed setting and twisted knobs until I found that ONE wah tone I like the best.

As with most wah pedals, it's hard to find something that retains the classic wah tone with overdrive and, especially, heavy overdrive. I found one setting for overdrive and another for cleans. If I were to buy a new wah pedal, I'd pay the extra money for the Fulltone Clyde. It has lusher tone and a buffer setting to retain great wah with overdrive.

You will only need one (maybe two) wah pedals in your life and its a staple in most players' pedal board. Spend whatever you can afford for the best wah you can get. Compare the 535Q with the Fulltone Clyde and see what sounds best to you.

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

I don't know where to start. If you own a Wah pedal then you remember back in your noob days when you didn't really have much to go on other than what the songs you hear sound like.

That in mind, I messed with a friends Wah and decided maybe I wasn't very good with it or it wasn't a pedal for me. Then I went to one of the Guitar Centers here in Austin and tried a couple more. Still was very very very unsure how people like Joe Bonnamassa and Jimi Hendrix got perfect sounding Wah. Eventually I found myself at my favorite guitar center in town, talking to my favorite guitar center employee and decided what the hell.. Might as well as about wah pedal.

Without even thinking about it for a full second he said 535Q. I said "what?" thinking he was talking code, as we walked to the display case. He pointed at this one and said "thats the one." I looked in and decided to test it out. I also had him pull out the Joe Bonnamassa Wah and tried them side by side. I didn't have to get past this one before my mind was made up but I tried Joe's anyway. This thing was AMAZING! I immediately paid and went home to add it into my sounds. I dialed it in to what I like (boost switch off, Range nob maxed clockwise, volume all the way down, wah range 1 hour from maxed out) and left it that way ever since, aside from having fun here and there. I lay down some rhythm into my loop pedal then turn this on and it changes the tone a bit while blowing people away. It also gives my guitar a little volume boost when I activate it so it's PERFECT for switching to lead. That's 100% customizable though.

All in all I would say this is one of the two pedals I own that can be for ANYONE. No matter what sound you're going for, this can do it. That's the reason guitarist of every style will recommend this.

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

I really like the possibilities I have with the 535Q. It's a very responsive wah capable of producing almost any sound you have in mind. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have a LED to tell you it's on. Sometimes on stage you find your sound weird till you realize it is because the wah was on. This happens no matter how experienced you are. I have two of this.
