The Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Multi-Wah pedal is the first item I've rated a perfect 5.0. I walked into Guitar Center, looking to buy a DigiTech Jimi Hendrix pedal but when I stumbled across this, I was truely blown away. I always loved the original Dunlop Crybaby, but now with custom changable options, I couldn't pass this up! I've used this thing on the road and it is a tank, I don't see this thing ever breaking. You have 2 boosters for the EQ, a Q knob for a bunch of different modes and a volume boost that really comes in handy. You can get pretty much all those other wah's into this ONE pedal. I bought it at first also because Adam Jones of Tool uses it and now I see why! Another great thing is it's bypass, if it's turned off, you get the same perfect signal and it just goes great. A truely great pedal, I highly recommend it!

Sure, as far as versatility goes this is a great wah. But good luck accessing those tones on the fly! There are serious design flaws with this pedal. 1) Loud obnoxious POPPING sound when the switch is engaged, Im glad I didnt blow a speaker. 2)The range selector makes a loud clicking sound whether the wah is on or off, do I have to turn my amp off to change the range quietly? 3)That stupid boost switch can get pushed in way too easily, leaving you fumbling around trying to figure out why you sound terrible!4)Those microscopic vol. and Q knobs that are unmarked btw. Who is going to adjust those in a hurry on a dark stage? Why didnt they put the Q knob where the range selector is so you can roll it with your foot? I may just be speaking out of disappointment because I wanted to love this pedal, but I think that for a pedal they "threw the kitchen sink" at they could have designed it with actual guitar players in mind instead of just mindlessly throwing features in it to trick their customers into thinking its awesome.Great concept poor execution. Look elsewhere!

Got this and love it! Crafting your own tones is easy with the EQ, and the volume boost is amazing. I recommend this to anyone looking for a wah that they can turn into their own.

Dunlop 535q

By

from LV NV

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

Have had three different wha wha petals and two effects boards with wha wha emulators. Loved my Snarling Dogs Addicted to Wha Whino. It actually has more variable settings than the 535q. At the time it was purchased, I had the store pull out several different wha pedals and did the A / B thing on them. The Snarling Dogs romped booty on the others of its day by a ton: No one who was there thought otherwise. Slam dunk. Monster slam dunk. Fast forward about ten years and its no contest again. The 535q is the clear cut winner. It has better/great sound through the whole petal range during a press in any of the settings. The wide range of tones you can dial in is impressive. The gain button works great. I love Wha. If I thought there was a better pedal out there, I would hunt it down and buy it even if this pedal is so good it would be almost pointless. At this point in time, I'm satisfied that this is it as far as Wha's go. If you are serious about wha, get this. At a bare minimum you will not be disappointed.

Most Powerful & Versatile Wah Pedal

By

from Homestead FL

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

I am using this pedal on my new music album "OldSchool" I've always used to only record with my original crybaby. But, when I started recording my new piece I noticed that the sound I was getting was not right for it. It needed a wah sound a bit more throaty. So, I did my research and tried just about every wah pedal and I have to say that theres nothing like a true crybaby. So I knew I had to look in the crybaby brand. But, it needed to be the most versatile one of them all and this is it. It's like having multiple wah pedals in one. I couldn't be happier. If the record is done by the time you read this review well, go check it out. Anything done with a wah was with this wah. 535Q4Life

First Wah pedal.

By

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

I bought one of these today and I absolutely love it. I was soo anxious to go home and try It out. I got It used for 60 bucks and Its still great used. The only few things I dont like is that with the booster on the side turned on, the volume starts to fluctuate up and down. Some of the different wah modes i didn't particularly like. My ankle started to hurt after a good six hours of using it. I really do reccomend this, for beginners and pros.

This is a great sounding wah. After my crybaby 95 gave out i bought this. it sounds so much better and you can adjust the sweep of the wah and volume. i didn't notice any tone sucking but i don't really care im not a tone snob. i don't know too much about how long it will last but it seems like its great quality

not reliable

By

from Newalla, Oklahoma

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

I've used the Dulop Cry Baby 535Q for about 2 years now, and while it was working, sounded great. It had a wide sweep range, which sounds well with my style of playing. But one day while practicing it was working fine, the next day it quit working at all.

Owned four dif. Crybabies, This one is BEST!

By

from Charleston, SC

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

I've owned the 95Q, the Slash, the Dimebag, and this one. This is the one I settled on. Basically the 535Q and the Dimebag are the same wahs. However the Dimebag buzzes more in boost mode and has an inferior buffer. This if a highly versatile and quiet wah that contains a hardwired bypass with a 2.2MOhm resistor at each jack to siphon off any pop. Some people remove these resistors to make it true bypass. How much the two resistors effect the signal is debatable. However the bypass is vastly superior to crybabies with a buffered bypass such as the 95Q and Dimebag. Also I will say that this is a much better wah than the Slash. I didn't like it and the distortion boost was just pure noise and hiss.

Wah of many Wahs

By

from Boise, ID

Comments about Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah Pedal:

Before Satriani's Big Bad Wah came to fruition, the 535Q was the last wah pedal that he toured with. I fell in love with that "Meaning of Love" live sound (Super Colossal tour) and this pedal nails it! The 535Q may offer a few too many features for those who like to keep it simple, but at the same time they are very easy to use and the wah sounds amazing using the factory settings. You can basically choose from 6 different "voices" using the range selector; from standard wah to an almost full-range bassy growl. The footswitchable volume boost can be set anywhere between 0-+16dB, and the famous "Q" control allows you to control which frequency range is covered by the sweep of the pedal. I think Satch had a winner with this wah, and my pedalboard will never be without one. This thing is built like an aircraft carrier, has an almost infinite range of sound, and is a wonderful pedal for those buying their first wah or a seasoned pro.
