Like I wanted since I was 16

By wes burgess

Comments about Dunlop BMF Leather Guitar Strap - Classic Black:

When I was 16 my wealthy friend bought a hand-made classical guitar (which I didn't care about) with a hand-made case (which I also didn't care about) and a great, wide black leather strap, which I have coveted for years. I don't know who made it or even if it was any good but I wanted that expensive strap. Now that I can afford it, I found this Dunlop strap on sale and I had to have it. It actually looks even better than the other one, stronger, and maybe a bit wider, too. Anyway, there's no chance of your guitar slipping off your shoulder with this strap. Who knows, maybe your friends will want one too!

There is one caveat about this strap. The Dunlop logo is stamped into a metal button which passes through the strap and terminates on the inside as a smooth, tiny, recessed rivet. Although it seems innocuous and will probably ride at the top of the strap near your shoulder, I consider it a risk for scratching my guitar. Now I have a square of tape covering it on the inside of the strap but eventually I will probably pull it out altogether, when I have the extra time and energy.
its a wide, tough strap
well-stitched, leather quality on my strap was consistent and solid
I purchased this strap on sale and its well worth the price

2.5", Wouldn't Go Any Wider

By Dave Wiese

from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Dunlop BMF Leather Guitar Strap - Classic Black:

These straps have a great quality feel that ranks right up there with the Levy's straps, but are longer. I give credit to Dunlop (and Ernie Ball as well) for making leather straps that are 60" long; most leather straps are 52". Most leather straps are between 2-3" wide, and this is right in the middle. I prefer 2", but HATE 3", so this is as wide of a strap as I'd use. 3" would be a PAIN to use with a wireless. As far as quality, it has a "destressed feel" right out of the box, so it doesn't feel overly stiff. I've been using this with my Gretsch for a year now, and it's holding up great! Still looks new in fact.

Real nice comfy leather strap.

Comments about Dunlop BMF Leather Guitar Strap - Classic Black:

Great strap for the price. There are some extortionately priced straps on the market which might be a little better crafted but you're paying for a name more than anything else. While this strap doesn't have any padding it's still wide enough to distribute the weight and make the guitar feel a little lighter. It's nice and long too for all you low slingers out there.
The length is what sold me. It's longer than most leather straps in it's price range and it's wide enough to make those heavier guitars a bit more comfortable on the 'ol shoulder.
Really well made with good stitching.
Best in it's price range IMO.

You Would Think BMF Strap Means What It Says

By Mike Moyer

from Lancaster County, PA

Comments about Dunlop BMF Leather Guitar Strap - Classic Black:

This strap is ok . I thought that if it is call BMF strap it would be a thick, wide, and long strap . This however is a long ,semi wide, and pretty thin strap. It is comfortable and works well on a heavier guitar Aka. Les Paul I just thought that it would be much thicker as in the thickness of the leather. I'm not totally disappointed it's nice for the money.

Great Soft Leather Strap

By Dave-DNA-ecMLJ

from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Dunlop BMF Leather Guitar Strap - Classic Black:

I had actually given up on leather straps years ago, as the average leather strap (like Levy's) are just not long enough (usually 52"). I was actually looking for an Ernie Ball leather strap, when I came across this strap. I've used Dunlop's nylon straps since they first came out, as they were adjustable up to 6', and those were always great (though thick), so I figured I'd give this a shot. These straps have a soft leather like a lot of the Levy's, and are very comfortable. 60" is longer than some of the other leather straps on here calling themselves "extra long". Finally, I can go back to using a strap that's comfortable, long enough, and doesn't move on the shoulder like nylon or cotton. The Ernie Ball leather straps are about $10 more, and much stiffer. I take Fender's straps out of the equation, as those seem to be made by Levy's. It's hard to size a Levy's strap in a store, as the tags are placed where you'd have to remove them before you can adjust them. The only negative I can say about these BMF straps is that it would make more sense if they just made the holes at the end wide enough to put Dunlop straplocks on without a fight, but that's not a big deal.
