Comments about Dunlop 421P Ultex Guitar Picks:

I have use picks made from just about every material you can think of, plastic, nylon, wood, horn, agate, metal, bone, coconut shell. The Ultex Rhinos are the only ones I have been completely happy with.

Comments about Dunlop 421P Ultex Guitar Picks:

Okay now to start off with i purchased these picks in the.73 thickness (standard) and then i bought the sharps in .90 i have only used one which is the standard and i bought these picks a month ago and im still on my first one! these picks are great the ultex material is smooth has really good grip it has a quick release from the strings when im playing and its feather like properties help my speed alot i also use tortex but then again im the type of player who can use almost ANY pick but i only use picks in gauges .60 .73 .88 .90 and 1.0 those are the gauges that i preffer for any large set of picks i buy i have yet to try the ultex jazz 2.0 but the ultex is a great picks theres really no competetion between the ultex and the tortex they are both in the same playing field cause they are both made by dunlop lol although i find myself using the ultex alot more now buy these it all depends on the player i adapt to using any pick for anything buy the ultex dude you wont regret it.

Okay to start with i bought these picks a month ago and im still on my first one! lol these picks dig into the tone when they pull off a quick release on the strings i use ernie ball 11 gauge titanium coated strings they last a long time i have the in gauges .73, .90 and 1.0 i also use tortex im the type of player that can use anytype of pick just as long as i get used to the gauge and turn up the gauge on my strings I LOVE these picks i also have the sharps in the same gauges the tortex are good but i feel like im practically playing with a feather when i use ultex for some reason theres not really a competetion between the ultex and the tortex they are both in the same playing field however everyone is different but i make any pick work for me buy the ultex :)

A Bright Tone Is a Great Tone

          By

          from Johnstown, PA

Comments about Dunlop 421P Ultex Guitar Picks:

The guy who suggested these to me said these were originally for electric guitars. Well, I play acoustic-electric and I've found these to make a great difference on my guitars. The Ultex Rhino Picks sound great. They open up the sound a lot and make everything sound fuller.

          Crisp attack that lasts forever!

          By

          from Chicago, IL

Comments about Dunlop 421P Ultex Guitar Picks:

I also use the orange Tortex (.60mm) and they have a more mellow attack which I like, but they wear down after a few songs. These .60mm Ultex have a crisper attack but the tips stay sharp for several gigs, not several songs. I compensate for the crisper attack by bringing my guitar tone down a few more notches when needed. I highly recommend these for lead players who saw through picks. Cheers!

Comments about Dunlop 421P Ultex Guitar Picks:

I got these picks and was amazed by how well they stay in your hand. no matter how oily or sweaty your fingers get, these won't let you down. my suggestion: get the 1.0 and the 1.14 for extreme control.

          Great for Rock and/or Metal

          By

          from United States

Comments about Dunlop 421P Ultex Guitar Picks:

I just got some of these things today after wearing my old ones out. These are BIG improvement over the other ones i was using. First off they are pretty stiff and allow you to play quick solos or fast alternate picking riffs. second the material they are mad of is real easy to get a hold of so they dont slip (which happened alot with the other picks i used). All in all great picks if your playing rock, metal or anything with quick solos.

Ultex .60 wont let me pinch harmonic

          By

          from Nicholasville, Kentucky

Comments about Dunlop 421P Ultex Guitar Picks:

I've played guitar for 12 years, based on all equipment I have personally used I know what I like and I know what feels good for my style of playing. The fact is not that I don't 'like' the picks its that the picks aren't letting me play how I play or I dont play to match the style of these picks. I have used Dunlop Nylon .60's for over 5 years and the only peeve I have with them is the durability theres a reason why you get 12 nylons for the same as you get 6 of these for :). Overall if this pick suits you, you have found your pick im sure of it the material is hammer proof. Overall even the .60 ultex is to thick for me and they dont get any thinner than that. I think im gonna try the tortex and see how they play, im just getting sick of having to toss out a pick every day or two with the nylons.
