• Smooth mellow slide

  This is my first slide, and I found it to be much smoother and mellower sounding than some of the metal slides I tried. I've dropped it a number of times, and it's held up well. A little long for my taste, though.

  I have played with a metal slide on-and-off for the past 12 years, with unsatisfactory results. I finally got around to picking up the Dunlop Regular Wall Glass Slide, and I am impressed by its mellow tone.

• You need a slide to fit your finger

  Dunlop states in bold lettering on the package as to size. The metal ones say large medium small . The glass ones state thickness length and inside metric measures. Most user freindly - in bigger letters RING SIZE. I'm 6'1" I like playing it on my little finger (ring size 7 ) I like model #212 . I have a Dunlop brass concave shaped slide called a Harris ; I have a small model #230 I coulda used the 231 just a lil' bigger. the 232 is even bigger. The glass 218 is even too big for my middle finger. I also have a glass 202 that must be a size 8 but I threw the wrapper away before I went on my perfect slide search. The 202 is thin and doesn't feel or sound as good. I am going to try ceramic slides. Steve James used them in the workshops I've taken with him. I don't think you wanna cheap one. The ones that look right are around $30 and for that I wanna try it on. Important detail: if you drop a glass slide it's gonna break.
