NEW REVIEW - Item as described

I play electric bass with my fingers, and since I haven't been able to play lately in my apartment I decided to purchase the Dean EABC cutaway acoustic bass. Since I've cut my nails back I got these picks to brighten up the sound a lot on the acoustic bass. They do the job nicely. I purchased many different brands of picks just to get the feel of all the different styles of picks that are out there to choose from and I have found these to be one of the most comfortable next to the felt picks that are out there for playing bass guitar.

Dunlop is the Best!!

Dunlop Picks are by far the best picks out on the market. They're durable and comfortable and easy to hang on to. Chances are, you'll misplace one of these picks long before it has a chance to wear out. Nothing against other brands, but a lot of them like to fly out of your hand or wear out quickly. Some picks have a shiny or "polished" plastic, these are usually the ones that fly out of your hand if your hand starts to sweat. These aren't polished so it's really easy to maintain a good grip on them. If you do any intense strumming, these are your picks. For those of you just starting out and looking for picks I highly recommend these. Biggest question most new people have is about the thickness. Thickness is really personal preference. To be honest, you're not going to notice much difference between the close thicknesses(for example 1mm and .88mm). Fact: Thinner picks bend easier and tend to "spring" out of your hand. So unless you have pretty good pick control, I'd stay away from the thinner picks. Most popular thicknesses for newbies range between .73mm and 1mm.

Best Picks Ever

I have been playing guitar for awhile so I know what picks I want. Jim Dunlop picks are the picks I can never put down. I have played through my years of guitar with many different pick companies. Jim Dunlop has them all beat. The playability and the wear and tear on all these picks is awesome. I have never used another pick since I picked up Jim Dunlop.

Great Tone AND Durability

My friend ordered a pack of these about 3 months ago andf let me use one. He saud they were the best picks hes ever used. Id have to say the same because I still have the one he gave me and the only thing thats wore out on it is the ink. The pick is still smooth and gives me a gret thick tone on guitar and bass and I play OFTEN. A dozen will probably last you a life time.

Finally, All In Black

I have been playing guitar for over 30 years and have tried every pick in the book. I always come back to Dunlop. They are simply the best picks you can buy. I still have the first .73 I ever bought and it still plays great. It's even bent to the shape of my thumb. My one and only issue with these great picks has always been the colors. I'm not a big fan of colored picks so to have all the thicknesses I play, currently 4, in black is huge for me. It may sound trivial but playing is all about confidence, even in the picks you use, and I'll be using Dunlop as long as I can sling a guitar around my neck!
