For anyone looking for a slide that looks good, sounds good, and plays good - This is the slide for you! The Keb Mo signature slide is a thick comfy porcelain slide that fits up to a 9.5 ring size, It also has a moisture absorbing interior to achieve maximum comfort and grip. As for the slides sound it has a big warm sound that cuts off a lot of high end, so if your looking for that big warm sound then this big slide is for you!
Excellent slide as described. the tone is very warm and the unfinished center with the roughness help keep the slide on your finger. It's a little big compared to the brass slides I use, but on the National-style steel body I love, it's a perfect marriage. Maybe one of the best online buys I've made.
I have to give the slide itself a middle of the road rating, as I have yet to try it out. I would have loved to try it when it arrived, but it was sent seperately from the rest of my order, and the packacking amounted to a plastic USPS bag; without any padding. So, the pieces looked nice, but I am waiting for the replacement to be sent to me. Upon requesting a different packaging type, I was told that they couldn't accomodate my request, which means that it will be sent in a bag, sans padding, again. As a former employee of GC, I found this experience to be beneath the level of quality and customer service I was used to when I was an employee. Hopefully the slide arrives, and intact, but if it does it will be despite the mistakes in packaging, not because of anything done correctly.
