The Rotovibe has its own little soft nitch in the whole Uni-Vibe/Leslie world. It's not the standout due to its' very subdued nature but its a nice flavor for those looking for a little subtlety. Besides the mellow sounds, we were drawn to the Rotovibe's pivoting pedal which controls the effects rate with a very smooth and natural sweep. Lower settings were phasey and fluid while faster setting bent our notes in a cool and very creepy way. If you've stepped on one of Dunlop Wahs then this will feel right at home. Both the chorus and vibrato setting were lush and wavered just right when rocking back and forth on the pedal. This watery effect is perfect for slashing the right amount of color on songs and perking up lackuster leads. The unit itself is tough as nails and should give you years of hassle free vibing.

The Bear

This pedal,Rotovibe JD-4S, is worth it's weight in gold. It goes in front of everything on my pedal board. It's just great. I don't use the Vibrato too much, but when I do I can get the exact sound I want. I really dig the Chorus. It just brings me back to the 60s' and 70s'. Especially running it through my Fender 59 Bassman. Mix it with some OD,Delay, even my Crybaby wah, any effect you have, and you can create your own personal sound. I play mainly blues and have found many, many uses for the Rotovibe. When I play Classic Rock I would like to keep it on all the time, but that would get stale. If you're thinking about getting the Rotovibe, stop thinking and get it.

Very useful pedal!

Rotovibe is a great versatile pedal. Basicly take a wah and instead of the "wicky-wicky-wow" sound, replace it was a chorus or vibrato sound. What's really cool about this pedal is you can set the max depth and control the speed with your foot. You can go from a slow soothing chorus sound to an underwater sound by tilting your foot. I use the chorus effect alot, but don't really use the vibrato effect that much. It sounds too much like a honky tonk piano where it goes in and out of pitch. Not a big fan of that, but the pedal is totally worth it for the chorus effect. Alot of bands use this pedal. I think most use it as a background/rythym pedal. I know Zakk Wylde uses it in his leads alot. Check out his old band, Pride & Glory. The rotovibe is all over that CD.
