I has everything I look for in a pick. An articulate tip, ease of grip, low weight, and just enough flex to minimize the sound of pick attack. I cannot imagine using another now.
I agree with the other reviews. However I wanted to compare the standard red nylon Jazz III with the Eric Johnson to see if there really is that big of a difference. The tip of the EJ is about 1.5mm longer than the standard Jazz III, and the "sculpted" tip is hardly any different than the standard, only a little bit flatter, not really more rounded. It definitely is more flexible than the standard Jazz III. The only other difference is the nylon isn't as slippery as the standard Jazz III, although very similar. If I had to choose I would actually choose the Eric Johnson Jazz III.
Yeah, it's just a pick, it's a means to an end when it comes to guitar. But honestly, I'm kind of addicted to these. The smaller size was a bit rough getting used to since I was used to the standard tortex size picks, but once the size barrier was worked out, I was hooked. I love thick picks, and the Jazz IIIs are really nice and thick, providing great stability and none of that sloppy feeling like thin picks can give you when trying to be articulate in your picking. I've read some reviews that say that the raised lettering collects dirt and things around them, but in all honesty, a trip through the washing machine in your pocket will take care of that issue...and we know we've all done it. Also, the raised lettering gives a little extra grip that the regular Jazz III picks too. Try them.
