Lacking

I got this wah, desiring classic clean wah tones, funk tones, and good heavy metal and saturated blues wah tones. It has, mostly, failed on all accounts. Not that this is a bad wah, it just lacks mojo, and good sweep. The knob doesn't offer too much interest, though it is necessary for the package to work. The tone itself is good, but the sweep is poor, and the thing seems lacking in punch and authority. You aren't going to get Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) on this thing, I have tried, and it doesn't seem capable. You will not get Kirk Hammett. However, it can do some nice metal leads, and some decent cleans, however underpowered. In closing, this is a decent wah, that does a number of things. It just hasn't demonstrated any great proficiency in any one area. I should have gotten the Zakk Wylde sig. wah. Cheers.

The first 5.0 for me...

The Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Multi-Wah pedal is the first item I've rated a perfect 5.0. I walked into Guitar Center, looking to buy a DigiTech Jimi Hendrix pedal but when I stumbled across this, I was truely blown away. I always loved the original Dunlop Crybaby, but now with custom changable options, I couldn't pass this up! I've used this thing on the road and it is a tank, I don't see this thing ever breaking. You have 2 boosters for the EQ, a Q knob for a bunch of different modes and a volume boost that really comes in handy. You can get pretty much all those other wah's into this ONE pedal. I bought it at first also because Adam Jones of Tool uses it and now I see why! Another great thing is it's bypass, if it's turned off, you get the same perfect signal and it just goes great. A truely great pedal, I highly recommend it!

Most versatile wah that I've played

The 535q can give you every wah tone you've ever wanted. Between the adjustable Qdial and the 6 wah range dial, the combinations are endless. The pedals manual comes with some suggestions which is a helpful starting point for new owners of the 535q. It only took me a few sessions to find my "sweet spot"...just the fact that so many tones can be attained from this wah makes it worth the price (why would you buy a wah that doesn't have different ranges and tones?). The boost funcion comes up big when trying to cut through the mix during a solo. It can be boosted up to +16 dbs, more than enough. Awesome wah!

535Q

This is a very versatile wah wah pedal. You can adjust the wah sound of the open and depressed pedal positions. It also has a killer (adjustable) volume boost feature. Worth the money, but the different wah sounds are kind of similar.
