Superior Quality For An Affordable Price.

By

from Fort Bridger, Wyoming

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

The Digi-Tech Bass Squeeze pedal is one of the best compression pedals on the market today. It has a setting for every bassist, weather you want responsive highs (Glass Top Setting), really punchy lows (Thick Bottom Setting), you want a heavy dose of highs and lows (Mild Compression Setting), or you want a little more kick when you start to do some cool funk breakdowns (Slap Funk Setting), there's a sound that's right for you. I highly recommend this pedal for any bassist looking to improve their gear. I am highly pleased with this Compressor and will continue to purchase pedals from Digi-Tech for many years to come.

Nice tone balancer in a small package

By

from Berkeley, CA

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

Doesn't offer fine control over attack/sustain (etc.) parameters. But the 2-band feature, unusual in a compact stompbox, has many applications: (1) For 5+ string bass, whose top or bottom string needs its own compression for consistency. (E.g., my 5-string fretless, tuned E low to C high. With no compression, the C string's upper range sounds all plinky; but I don't want to compress fretless dynamics below that range.) (2) For any bass, to selectively add crispness to upper register (a-la-Chris Squire). (3) Wide crossover selection range (100Hz up to 3kHz) means this can also balance out a guitar with a wimpy high or low register. Both output jacks get the same signal, but "Out2" incorporates a single cabinet model. So you might be able to use this as a DI (direct injection) box, and go amp-free. To minimally color your tone, start with both Lo and Hi compression dials set to 12:00 (not 0). Then adjust from there. Quirk that works.

Noise, Noise, Noise

By

from Atlanta, Georgia

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

While the idea of a dual band compressor is nice, the thing is so darn noisy that I can't stand it. I like clean crisp bass. I play a Fender J that is absolutely silent. When I get this pedal in the mix it's hiss city. Tried hardwire power and battery power just to make sure it wasnt noisy power - nope. Its the pedal. Not sure if I'll keep or return. I guess if I ever decide to play super distorted it would be useful.

Makes a world of difference

By

from Elk Grove CA

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

Bought this after hearing it sampled online. I have a low end Peavey 5 string and between this and an Ampeg 115 combo, it makes my passive bass sound as good as an active. I recommend this to any bassist. I tried multi effects and went low tech with this. Easy to set and use. Very durable. Buy the ac adapter. This pedal finally gave me the tone I have been looking for since starting bass 15 years ago. Best money ever spent on effects.

Great Surprise!

By

from Caracas, Venezuela

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

This is the best Digitech compact pedal for guitars and bass. No doubt about it. If you have passive mics in your bass guitar, don̴t worry, this kid does the job. Great Boost, Compression and Sustainer. The manual suggests three modes: Glass Top (to play jazz and classic music is fine), Mild Compression (to play rock is awesome) and Thick Bottom (if you need full gain and body). However, buy the power supply, the stompbox eats batteries!

Compress Your Sound the Right Way

By

from Chino

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

I needed more treble and more of a cleaner punch and with my Boss ODB-3 it does some serious damage. For my style its perfect .... for other bass players out there who want to clean up the sound and this is the best pedal on the market. Dont look for anything else.

not TOO bad.... but get power supply

By

from Kansas City, MO

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

Have used this pedal for a few months now. it is a bit hissy at the higher level settings and it will drain a battery in about an hour. while running, it does work. deciding now if I'd rather buy the power supply or go to a multi-effect pedal. I use w/ active basses on a Peavy 450 watt head and SWR working man 4/10 cab.

Compression

By

from West Haven, CT

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

This pedal is absolutly amazing, when I play a show this pedal never turns off. The way I have it set it gets rid of my bass's natural mid scoop and boosts my 5-string B and makes it sound fuller and a lot more audible. This pedal is a must for any bassist that does not have a Compressor built in Amp. It is worth mre than I paid and I love it.

cool pedal

By

from San Diego, CA

Comments about DigiTech XBS Bass Squeeze Compressor Pedal:

This pedal is dual band compressor, but to me it works almost like a compressor and an eq in one pedal, you can get tons of different tones from it. Doesn't breathe or pump even in the highest settings. This pedal is not for you if you want a transparent compressor, though. It definitely changes your sound.
