Overview

The DigiTech Drop is a dedicated polyphonic drop tune pedal that allows you to drop your tuning from one semitone all the way down to a full octave. Get down-tuned chunk without having to change guitars! The Drop also features a momentary/latching switch. With the switch set to momentary, you can turn the Drop into a true performance pedal. Fast trills and roller-coaster pitch dips are at the tip of your toes.

Controls
Effects Selector Knob - Selects which of the Drop effect settings is used when the effect is active.

Momentary On/Off Switch - Selects how the effect footswitch will operate. Setting this switch to "ON" will cause the footswitch to act as a momentary switch (the effect will be enabled or disabled only as long as the footswitch is pressed and held). Setting this switch to "OFF" will cause the footswitch to act as a standard latching on/off switch.

make sure to put this effect right after your guitar, before compressors, boosters, overdrives, and all that. I tried it before and after my effects chain, and if you put it at the end of your chain you experience latency, chorusy, glitchy type stuff. right after the guitar it is useful down to about 4 semitones, or two steps. any further than that and you get into some chorusy glitchness. it is incredibly fun to play with, making all your old riffs sound fresh, and opens the door for creative expansion. playing the old A minor pentatonic in B standard is absolutely brutal! I use it in front of a 6505+ with a dean ml with the dimebucker.. I do believe it would sound great with the clean fender type amps if it can handle all this gain. your pinch harmonics come through just fine, speed picking is spot on. if your guitar is not properly intonated it will be blatently obvious the further you go down. i was really concerned it would mess up my epic modern tone but it does not.I love this thing...just wondering what to do with all of these guitars now

Bass Players Only.... I'm A Bass player in a cover band and all of our songs we play are dropped down a half step. I was looking for a solution to rid my self of those loose/sloppy feeling of the strings especially when we play songs in drop C#.

This pedal works best when using a guitar cord plugged directly into your amplifier. The Latency started to show up when I was using my Wireless system and then you will be able to hear the delay in response especially on the Low E string.

This a great unit and does exactly as specified and you could use this for live performances and get away with it. If you were recording I would just recommend tuning down your bass guitar. I ended up selling the unit.

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

As an old guy playing classic rock, the voice just can't quite reach some of the notes anymore but I generally only need a step or half step down. This works very well.

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a great pedal that does exactly what I expected it to do. My only negative comment is that if the volume on your amp is low, you'll still hear your string and the sub notes will clash. However, this obviously won't affect recording and for live performances, your amp volume will probably be turned up.

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have a Schecter C-1 Platinum with a Floyd Rose tremolo in the bridge and I was using an Electro Harmonix Pitch Fork as a drop tuner and the sound quality was awful especially for playing leads. I sold the Pitch Fork and bought the Drop. The drop is exactly what I was looking for and now I can go all the way down an octave and have my guitar sound similar to a bass. It's amazing and worth every penny.

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I purchased this pedal based off of many reviews, and comparisons online, and clips on youtube, and this pedal did not disappoint in person. It does a very good job of tracking the incoming signal, but it can get a bit loose once you go too low. Its perfect for dropping a half or whole step, and does a great job when going lower than that. I recommend this pedal for those who dont want multiple guitars, or have a floyd rose equiped guitar like I do.

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I'm a 7 string bassist. I have gone through great lengths to get exactly the string tension balanced with my setup to get a low action with no fret buzz. So, when I get into a situation where somebody wants me to tune down, I run into some problems.

This pedal works alright. Going a half step isn't too bad. From everybody's comments, I thought I wouldn't experience any latency until about a 1.5 steps, but I notice it at the half-step setting. It's not bad, but it is noticeable. Other than that, this pedal works fine and will do what I need it to.

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I previously had the Morpheus drop tune, and loved it. However it just took up too much board space. The Digitech drop is 10x better. Smaller, much easier to use and it sounds better too! If you hate re-tuning or bringing extra guitars to gigs for 1 or 2 songs as much as I do, you eill love this pedal as it solves all of that bs. Plus you get the octaver and the octave down (bass guitar simulator) as a bonus!

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I like only using 1 - 2 guitars when practicing or live shows and recording. This pedal gives me the ability to do just that. If I'm just jamming and running through some warm up songs in a different tuning all I do is turn a nob and I'm there !

Comments about Digitech The Drop Polyphonic Drop Tune Pitch-Shifter Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've used this about a dozen times both with my classic rock band (our aging voices causing us to downtune quite a bit!), and with performing with a church praise band. Great for learning lead riffs as recorded and then switching down as necessary when playing downtuned.
