I have owned this pedal for about 8 months now. I have been playing for 9 years, and I am very impressed with it. The factory presets are cool for those who just want to replicate classic sounds. The real gem of this pedal is the fact that you can make your own effects. Not to mention the wah and whammy effects are killer, just like digitech's whammy pedal, only cheaper. The only setback being the size of the pedal. When pressing the expression pedal down, it shifts to the right, so you have to be gentle. For the price, every guitar player should have one.

The good: The amp models are great it lets you have some options past a standard distortion pedals. The bad: I only use a few of the presets and it is intially confusing to set up on your own the first few times. In bypass mode you get some static/noise that gets annoying if you are looking for a very clean sound. Overall: If I had it to do over again I would not buy this not because of the quality but because I really don't use it all that much

Its Great

By LPplayer502

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

I've heard about the RP80 from my friends and played the bass version. I love the bass one and I believe this is the same type thing. I'm looking around for a wah/distortion/phaser/flange/delay effects and this is the total package. The price is the best part because I'm a cheap guy, and this definitly beats those other cheap sounding effects. I can't wait to try it with my LP!

Lot of Function for a Low Price

By Gettinbetter

from near Chicago

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

I've had the Digitech RP 80 for about 2 years, and I tend to use it in the garage with a cheap practice amp, or with headphones when family life won't allow me to crank it up. For under $100, you have alot of pedal sounds in one unit, plus an expression pedal that is decent to use. I tend to stick with the presets--although tweking them is fairly simple, it's time consuming. The included drum patterns are ok, but a little sterile sounding--one step up from a metronome for pricticing your timing. If you're looking for a multieffects unit on a budget, don't look any further--this is a great deal.

Amazing toy and tool!

By LoneEagle1

from Central Kentucky

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

Playing acoustic many years, I really never experienced pedals in the past. Having recently bought an Epiphone Custom Shop Les Paul Studio, Limited Edition, I realized quickly that I needed to diversify my sounds for the different musics I play and saw the Digitech RP series. The RP80 was in my price range and now that I am playing through it, I cannot imagine having spent my money any better. I wish that all of the 80 presets were user editable, but I cannot complain. I have found use for some of the "non-traditional" sounds. With all that this baby does, I can't even imagine what it's big brothers have on it, except price. I have even used it for vocals a few times through my mixer into my computer's home studio program for recording. AMAZING tool is an understatement!

This thing is great

By Washburner

from Long Island

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

I really love this pedal. It's got plenty of space for custom presets, and the selection of effects is amazing! I would have liked a few more drum sets, but I've already got a seperate unit for that. The expression pedal works amazingly well, except with pitch effects, which are a little wobbly. I play a lot of different styles, and the easy customization is great for me.

This is Very Good.

By Clapton4

from State College, PA

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

This is very good, and well worth the money. I use it for practicing at home. It can help you get authentic sounds. It can also give you a taste of all the different effect pedals. The only bad thing is that, it does not tell you what amp model is which and there are no specific amp models, but that does not really matter. Creating your own settings is great. This is a very good product and well worth the money.

RP80

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

I've had this pedal for at least 6 months now and I am still finding new things on it. You'll end up spending hours playing around on an effect, but then you are able to change it around and get a whole new effect. A good thing about this is if you are able to create the perfect sound for a song, you can save it so you can play it later. One thing I like to do is play the same riff over and over but each time changing to a new effect. The expression pedal was the icing on the cake for me. It can really add a lot to your playing.

Good for sampling!

By giddyguitarist5

from Florida

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

This pedal is great for finding out exactly what effects you like both alone and combined. It's worth a run for it's money. 80 effects for $80, simple and sweet. I will warn you to STAY AWAY FROM MAGNETS! The expression on this pedal is powered by magnets and can just as easily be messed up by them. I made a mistake putting this in the back of my amp which the speaker is alligned with magnets, which threw it off that the pedal didn't even work. This pedal does not specialize in any certain effect, so you wont have AMAZING distortion of one kind or a COMPLETELY WICKED phaser. So if your just sampling with a little amount of cash I highly recommend the RP80. Have fun!

perfect pedal

By Jeff404

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

I used this effects pedal at my friends house with his fender telecaster and just couldn't stop using it. Theres so many different settings you can play almost any style of music, from death metal to clean classical guitar. It also works great with any kind of acoustic-electric guitars. Theres also other ones that have 300 or 400 settings on them, but I dont think you need that many for one guitar. If you're a beginner guitarist and like to fool around and try out new things, or even a proffessional, experienced guitarist, I highly reccomend buying this pedal.

Awesome Multieffects Pedal!!

By AlternativeGuitarist

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

The Digitech RP90 is great when your trying to experiment with guitar effects for the first time. It gives you access to a huge assortment of guitar effects that you can mess around with and tweak to your liking. The factory presets are great and are perfect if you just wanna jam and not worry about messing around w/ user presets. All in all, this is a good solid effects pedal. Perfect for beginner to intermediate guitarists alike.

Quality effects, low $$$.

By Demonmonkeee

from California

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

This was my first effects pedal, and I never felt the need to buy another. Though some of my friends dislike it because it doesnt have very strong distortion, I'm not really into that kind of sound, so this pedal works fine for me. I Have dabbled with making some effects of my own, and I use a few of them regularly alongside the quality presets. I reccomend this product

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

This is the first effects pedal I ever got,and I still use it. Not only is it affordable, but it has such a variety of effects. I am big on writing my own music and I always like to look through the effects and find a real cool one and mess around on it for a long time. I've had it for about 3 or 4 years now and I'm still finding new things on it.

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

I own the Digitech RP80 MulitEffects pedal. I have had it for almost a year now, and it's wonderful. It's kind of confusing when you first get it, but just read the manual and it becomes very easy. The amp models, reverb, and wah are great. I highly recomend this pedal to anyone who wants a quality multieffects pedal at a low price.

RP80

By Brando

from Roseville, CA

Comments about Digitech RP80 Modeling Guitar Processor:

This pedal is great. Its easy to use, has great sound, and is surpriseingly versitile. It comes with 40 user customizable presets and 40 factory presets that you cant modify. This thing gets from the clearest clean sound to the most hardcore metal sound you can think of, and everything in between. It also has a wide array of effects from chorus to digitech's exclusive sound called the yaya. It also includes noise gate, compressor/sustaner, reverb, delay, wah, single-coil/humbucker simulation, and a drum machine. The expression pedal adds extra versatility because you can controll the volume as well as the wah or the ammount of distortion, or the speed of an effect. Another feature is cabinet modeling, wich adds more authenticity to your tone. Overall, this pedal is awesome for the little ammount of $$$ it costs.
