I got this pedal a few years back when I was still a beginner in playing the electric guitar. The price was kinda cheap so I didn't really expect much from it... Boy was I wrong!! The RP50 is awesome! Its got 40 effects that you could edit, anyway you want. I was able to imitate the sound of a lot of expensive distortion pedals out there! It's got a chromatic tuner in it too so it becomes really handy when you need to make a quick but quiet tuning of your guitar....without disrupting the flow of the show. And it also has a drum machine in it.. a feature that improved my skills when I was practicing coz back then i was a beginner. So wat can I say... It's cheap, got a lot of features, sounds very very nice, and it lasts long coz until now I still have it and it's working just ok!

At first i was going to write something like: "cheap but good for a beginner, etc..." but instead honestly, I think no one can benfit from this processor. The quality of sound is just sucked out and replaced with distracting cheap effects. After playing around with it for a couple of days, I unpluged it and went directly to my amp, and it was like I was hearing my guitar again for the first time in days.

Simple Compact Fun

By Daversatek

from Baraboo, WI

The Digitech RP-50...if you want a simple modeler that is easy to use, without the need for a complex user's manual, get the RP-50. It has 40 factory presets and 40 user presets, which should keep you busy for a while. The price on these reflects its features only in terms of quantity not quality. I was suprised at the battery life using plain AA's, but I also purchased the ac/dc adapter - well worth it, because once you start playing with this, you're gonna find it hard to put away.

RP50

By Steve

from NJ

I bought one of these a while ago when I was stuck making a Crate 1x12 combo sound good, and I have to say the RP50 did a pretty good job. Wide variety of amp simulations, effects, delays, and reverbs. It's nice and small, I was able to just put it with the Crate (open back) when jamming and practicing. The only problem I had with mine, one of the little arrows stopped working.

its worth 60 bucks

By iceman400

from Undisclosed

i had this for a little while but ended up trading it back in because while it has a lot of cool effects that i really liked, i just wasnt using it that much. i was most impressed with the distortion quality and that you can create your own effects, up to 80 of them. so, i would say if you are looking for a variety of effects for less money, get this and you wont have a hole in your wallet

By meatman1

This is a good effects pedal if you dont have alot of money to spend and want a good sound. I wish it had a few more effects and if you have the money buy a higher quality pedal, butif your low on cash this one should work fine.

i like it, but it does have it downfalls

By supersweetjazzguy

from Undisclosed

I really do like this. It works good, i like the sound it makes and the layering. The only this that i dislike is the ease of finding the right sound i want. The layout is kinda confusing. I still have to refer to the manual.

This thing come with 80 different distortions and a built in tuner. This is the best thing to get if you have a cheap budget and like a variety of distortions. Two thumbs way up.

OK pedal for the price.

By HxCfreak

from Maimi Fl

I bought this pedal about a year ago because I was using a really small amplifier and needed distortion. I thought, hey why not buy a pedal with 80 different effects for the price of a BOSS distortion pedal. It turned out to be a pretty good buy at the time, but its little things like HOW the 80 different models sound. Its quality isnt too good either its plastic which is no substitute for metal, and the power supply it came with broke after a while. I got the mail-inrebate on the gig bag and cable for it, and the gig bag is alright, but the cable broke on me as well. Like I said, buy it if you want to experiment and toy around with something, but I Personally scrapped it and bought myself a bunch of BOSS effects pedals and a pedalboard and its a much greater investment.

The Digitech RP50 is great for the low price. It has 40 preset effects and 40 places for you to save your own. It makes a big difference in sound. With the music i play its perfect for switching between distortion and clean sounds.

This Pedal is a Pretty Good Value.

By Neko J.

from Cincinnati, OH

The Digitech RP50 boasts a ton of effects for a low price. The compressors, delays, pitch-shifts, noise gates, auto-wahs, reverbs, and choruses are all there, as well as a host of other effects that will help you find the perfect tone for the job. The downside is that there is very little offered in the vein of parameter adjustment. Most of the RP50's effects only have one value setting that increases or decreases all of the main parameters. As such, this pedal probably won't appeal to those looking for serious tone control. In addition, effect adjustment is cumbersome using the RP50's directional buttons. On the positive side, the effects work well, and there are various amp models that those with less powerful amps will find especially appealing. The overdrive on my Squire SP-10 is very harsh and undesirable by itself, so I use my RP50's amp models to dial in different levels of gain. The built in drum machine and chromatic tuner are also very nice, especially for beginners. This pedal should appeal to those looking for a lot of effects for a small price.

Digi Tech

By fendermaster316

from MA

Well I just got this about 3 days ago and I have been messing around with it and it is pretty sweet! It has a drum machine with 30 different drum beats in it that you can change the the tempo of, and it has 80 pre-set effects that you can edit. I couldnt rate it perfect however becasue things like the line 6 POD highly outdo it. It also has a built in foot tuner if you hold both buttons down, and if you just tap both buttons then you can put it on silent mode. This pedal is very veritile and is good for any style of music!

Good for practice

By rock4jc

from Raleigh, NC

I bought this pedal and it has very nice features, especially the drum machine. It is much more fun to play guitar with a full band, but sometimes it just isn't possible, so playing along with the RP50's drum machine is still pretty fun. The effects are not very usable in my opinion. They are too strong and just take over the sound of the amp model. The amp models are ok, they are pretty good for headphone use. I wouldn't recomend this for live use but I would recommend it for practicing and getting your chops up.

Rock on without spending a ton

By Strat O. Caster

from Peachtree City, GA

I bought this effects pedal a couple of years ago and have not regretted it. The sales person tried to "up sell" me, but I was simply looking for some tone control and a pedal that I could enjoy messing around with. This proved to be a great product without spending a lot of money. If you were to buy separate pedals, you would spend a lot more. I like the various cabinet modeling amps and find the sound and tone are excellent when listening to head phones directly from the processor. If you like dialing in a drum machine and continually tweeking new sounds and tones, you will enjoy this processor.

DigiTech RP50= WOW!!!!

By AverageGuy

from Wichita,Ks

I just bought this unit, after weeks of researching and deciding on what to go with on a effects pedal that could give me alot of sounds to choose from, I decided on the RP50. All I can say is WOW!!! Digitech has earned a LOYAL customer from here on out, my money will go to them for effect boards and processors. My rig is nothing spectacular, EPI Srat Copy and a Fender Frontman 25R, and this little Blue and Gray pedal gave life to my AMP and Guitar, I no longer have to use my Gain anymore. There are alot of presets on this baby and you can edit them to your liking! At this time I'm happy with the presets, so won't be editing for a while. Everyone has a different liking to what sound they want, this pedal may not have all but, my god it has alot, and to me the sound is amazing for what it does for my rig, and for $60..you can't go wrong! So do the right thing and buy one, you won't be disappointed. If it can make my rig sound go from boring to POW!! It will do the same for yours. My next purchase will be the Digitech GFX3 or 4.Oh and a plug for the Digitech CrossRoads pedal, I will be buying that as well in the near future, Awesome pedal too! And last but not least Kudos to the guys at Guitar Center, employees were awesome in customer service, I did not feel rushed or pressured into buying this pedal, they gave me all the time I wanted to play around with it!Thanks Digitech and Thanks Guitar Center for a great product and a Great service experience!!!!

A whole Lotta Fun

By recon013

from Hollywood, FL

This is great product for the money if you stay within it's limits. I found this has a great amout of features and allows for many effect combinations. The manual is detailed and easy for the beginner to use. There are a lot of settings posted on the website. Almost any artist sound can be achieved within reason. The only downside is the noise it also produces. Also going from one setting to the next on the fly does not work well. I don't think you can buy better for the money.

I purchased this little gem over the weekend, and all I can say is,wow!!For 60 dollars,I get all these wonderful effects and amp models to choose from. And to top all of that,I also get a built in noise gate, tuner, and drum machine. If I was to purchase all of these effects separately,it would take me forever to get all of them.I found that the RP50 is very well made and easy to use.It will make any rig sound great.Get one today, while supplies last.

Unlimited Possibilities

By KillWill

from Palm Coast, FL

You might be thinking that the effects aren't any good because of the price. Boy, are you wrong. I too was a little hesitant at first. Mine came with a free 9 volt power supply which was nice. I use a Jackson DXMG with Hz pickups into a Marshall M80R. It comes with 80 effects with 40 being customizable. You can adjust different things on each effect like the EG, Reverb, Delay, Noise gate, and things like Phaser and Flange. It's really great because of how you can make each sound your own. It also has a built in drum machine with 30 beats. It's really good to jam with or practice. I use this for just about all of my recordings. Don't hesitate! Buy now!
