I got this pedal a few years back when I was still a beginner in playing the electric guitar. The price was kinda cheap so I didn't really expect much from it... Boy was I wrong!! The RP50 is awesome! Its got 40 effects that you could edit, anyway you want. I was able to imitate the sound of a lot of expensive distortion pedals out there! It's got a chromatic tuner in it too so it becomes really handy when you need to make a quick but quiet tuning of your guitar....without disrupting the flow of the show. And it also has a drum machine in it.. a feature that improved my skills when I was practicing coz back then i was a beginner. So wat can I say... It's cheap, got a lot of features, sounds very very nice, and it lasts long coz until now I still have it and it's working just ok!

At first i was going to write something like: "cheap but good for a beginner, etc..." but instead honestly, I think no one can benfit from this processor. The quality of sound is just sucked out and replaced with distracting cheap effects. After playing around with it for a couple of days, I unpluged it and went directly to my amp, and it was like I was hearing my guitar again for the first time in days.

For the money I found this to be the best product on the market. The RP50 doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the higher end effects boxes but then again I am not a pro either just a wanna be rock star. With a little time and some practice I was able to do everything that the more expensive ones could!
This pedal is great for the beginners, but if you've been playing for a while I suggest buying all your effects separately. It is good if your trying to find your sound though.Although, the tuner is good and the separate delay settings 'cause, seriously, who likes to bend and change the settings for different songs. Also it's good when you have a setting with everything off except the eq so you can use it as a boost pedal.
I got this pedal yesterday and right when I got home I saw how great this is. I did not expect much but I got a lot for $50. I love to play around with the whammy in it. The other modulation effects are very good and there are lots of them. IF YOU LIKE EFFECTS ON YOUR GUITAR BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great inexpensive tool that has GREAT sound and effects if you know what you are doing in setting up the User Presets. I don't know who is chosen to set the factory presets on these types of Multi-Effect processors, but out of the 40 Factory presets there are only about 3 that are usable in my opinion. The rest are way over the top with overuse (abuse) of effects. It's ridiculous! I've found this with other brands as well. However, the amp models and effects Digitech have come up with here are very good if you know how to set them correctly. The drum patterns have been improved over the years and they are fun to play along with as well. A great tool for the money as is the RP250. The Factory Presets are the culprit for taking away 1 star.
I bought this product a few days back and i really like it i can go to other sites and get patches to put into it. the rp 50 has an amazing sound. so if your low on cash and want amazing effects the rp 50 is for you. the only downside to the rp 50 that i dont like is there is no on/off switch, but since i have my pedalboard on a power strip i just turn off the power srip when im done. ROCK ON DIGITECH
I bought this pedal a while back ago when i first began to play guitar, and since then t has aided me in whatever i want it to do. it has so many effects to customize. you can get a good clean tone out of it or a crunchy overdrive not to mention killer distortion. also the chorus in this is great when equalized well. this was a great pedal and a big help because my first guitar only had one pick up (the bridge one), but with the help of this i was able to i guess i would say "emulate" the neck pickup, overall amazing pedal and recomend it to anyone out there.
I've been playing for a little more than a year and i figured it was time to start building a pedalboard so i was looking for a nice distortion pedal and i had settled on the ds-1 but then i found this, saw the price and thought i cant go wrong for that cause i also wanted to try all the other kinds of pedals and this little box does it all, the distortion was a little muddy but thats the only complaint i had, overall very great and the built in tuner is a really nice little addition
If you are a beginner, I would totally recomend this or it's big bother (RP80). It's a great little box. I miss the pickup simulator, but it can do. It's got 4 types of tremelo, decent delay, and a few good amp models. And cabinet modeling, don't forget that. I use it as a backup phaser and delay, sometimes for octaves. Small and compact, which is awesome. Pretty good pedal, has a permanent place in my gig bag.
My youth pastor has this pedal and let me use it and I was astonished. I didn't think it would do much but with 80 different sounds and 40 of those that you can edit, man I had a great time! I'm thinking of getting one for myself. I think its a great price, too. :)
This pedal is great for the price. With over 80 presets this pedal is good for begginer to intermediate players. Definetely a great buy for the price. the built drum machine is great to practice timing and just write some riffs. You can edit the presets to your liking and store them in the pedal. with classic effects like whammy and wah this pedal owns. The bypass option is great so you can choose when to use your pedal. Plus it comes with its own battery pack that plugs into the wall so you dont burn through batteries i definetely reccomend this pedal to all players
