Overview

The DigiTech RP360 guitar multi-effect processor is a complete 360 guitar effects solution. It includes over 125 different effects (32 amps, 18 cabinets, 74 stompboxes) inspired by the world's best-selling pedals and iconic amps. The LCD interface makes it easy to explore and discover the perfect tone to get that desired effect. Along with the incredible selection of effects, the RP360 has a 40-second looper, nearly 200 presets, USB port, configurable footswitch modes, built-in tuner; dedicated headphone jack, Sound Check and 60 built-in drum tracks.

You can add up to eight effects to each preset. The RP360 has a USB port for transferring and loading presets from your computer. With nearly 200 onboard presets and Nexus, DigiTech's free preset editor and librarian software, you can create, transfer, and share an unlimited number of tones. The USB port also allows you to record your guitar tracks directly to your computer. The RP360 works with GarageBand, Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton, and virtually every other recording software for Mac or PC.

The RP360 is versatile with three different footswitch modes. Incorporate the RP360 into your existing pedal board using stompbox mode where you can assign any effect in your preset to each footswitch. If you choose to use the RP360 by itself, easily navigate through your presets in preset mode or bank mode.

Extend your control of the RP360 with a 3-button footswitch or expression pedal. The 3-button footswitch can be set-up to extend the control of the onboard looper or navigate through your banks and presets. Using an expression pedal you'll engage real time control of an effect in your preset including the iconic Whammy pedal.

The RP360 includes a new feature exclusive to DigiTech called Sound Check. Sound Check allows you to quickly record a phrase with your guitar and set it to repeat while you dial in the perfect effects and settings. Sound Check saves you from having to continually bend over to make minor adjustments while dialing in your tone. With Sound Check you'll spend less time tweaking and more time playing with the perfect tones

I have to admit I was surprised by the quality of the effects on this multi-effects unit. The Lexicon reverb emulations alone are worth the money. I have used multi-effects units in the past (most recently Zoom G2.1nu) and this unit is superior. The ability to turn effects on and off with the 3 foot switches makes this extremely playable in live settings. You can set up a basic patch for a clean guitar, then set up the foot switches to add distortion, delay, flangers, etc. The effects are first rate, the manual is very helpful (unlike most), the variety of effects in each category is impressive (3 different compressors, 23 well known distortion units manual control of settings, 54 amp models, chorus/flanger/phaser/vibrato/tremolo/wah/pitch/harmony/octaver, etc, 9 types of delay and 6 types of reverb). I've only had this a couple of weeks, and I've already programmed over 30 favorite settings. There are 100 factory presets that can't be overwritten, and 100 user presets. It is extremely easy and intuitive to get in and tweak the presets. The other HUGE advantage to this unit is that it has built in USB in and out for recording. You don't need a $150 USB interface any more- this unit does stereo out to the computer and stereo in from the computer and has a control for adjusting the headphone ratio between the two (for monitoring previous tracks while overdubbing). High quality unit, great effects. Highly recommended.

What is great about it is the way it looks (.)

    ----------------------------------------------

What is not great about it:

    1. "Foremost" - DIGMETAL(HEAVY) not an included program.
    2. Most legacy models include DIGMETAL AMP tone:
RP 255, RP 500, RP 1000, and a few others.
    3. Legacy models are significantly BETTER sounding
    4. Audio DNA 2 is not in this unit.
    5. AMP/MIXER switch not included.
    6. (XP 360) CONSTANTLY ASKS TO CALIBRATE!!!!!
    7. Jog Wheel sticks and has to be pulled on.
    8. Nexus software did not work.
    9. Downloaded Nexus a second time from DigiTech website...did not work although the computer interface is very eye catching.

***Previously owned DigiTech models and all of them great as follows: GSP 21, RP 500, and RP 90.***

***Recently purchased an old used and abused RP 255 which sounds phenomenally spectacular in my mix. ***

We wasted close to $300 on an RP 360 AND RP 360 XP.
Frustrating after spending a year trying to get a good tone and still have gotten no where. Tried mixing and remixing a song recording with both and still have a cracker box tone.
The (XP 360) was purchased and returned in exchange for a plain (RP 360). Made no difference; all icing and no cake.
RP360 is a bump in the road for Harmon.
Overall, the RP 360 and RP 360 XP are no match for legacy unit sounds.

    More Responsive than the ME-80..

Comments about Digitech RP360 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

I already have a full pedal setup, but wanted to get something for practicing at night or when "traveling". Anyway, totally surprised at how good this sounds on the default setup and even better when tweaked. What I like best is that it has a Drum Machine, Looper, and the sounds are great, but most importantly the response it's very good. Meaning, no latency. When I tap a string, there's not a millisecond of delay, unlike some other multi-effect pedals I purchased and returned. Other pedals had great sounds but terrible response. I also bought and returned the Line 6 M5, it died after 20 minute of play time. I think this one by Digitech is going to be a HIT. ! Get it, it's a rock-bottom-price for a device that can be 3 times the cost with the same quality and features.

    What A Deal

    By Joshua Blount

Comments about Digitech RP360 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

I've been in the industry for 20 years and have been through hundreds of pedals, processors, and amps. I bought this little guy to put in front of a small songwriting system at home to avoid firing up the main studio. I have been quite surprised at the tone quality. It has a number of solid presets that require little tweaking and a user friendly layout. I mean very simple to use, like when you wanna dial in a quick tone without losing the idea for a riff while drowning in complex setups and interfaces. Can't speak to the durability but will say it seems to be well built. Drum machine is fun for practice and the looper is actually very good as well. Definitely recommend this unit to like minded users and guitarists alike.

Not getting the props it deserves.

Comments about Digitech RP360 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

Before I bought the RP360 I owned an RP150, and I need to tell you the RP360 is an improvement in almost every way. I have A/B'd the two units and I can say without question that the 360 sounds better. While most of the models are the same, they have been improved or tweaked. For instance, the Champ model in the 150 is not the same as the Champ in the 360. The 150 Champ breaks up earlier while the 360 Champ can be set to totally clean. The output stage of the 360 is louder and clearer. The Nexus software is a major improvement. Once can change the order of effects in the 360. This allows for MUCH greater flexibility in the signal chain. And here is a biggie. . . ANY parameter can be modulated by the expression pedal or LFO. That is a HUGE improvement. There are quite a few new models and effects added to the list, so you are getting much more than the previous generation. Don't get hung up on the fact that it still uses the AudioDNA2 chip. DSP chips are not the same as standard CPU chips. They do not need to be bigger and stronger for them to sound better. The fact is that they could use this chip for years to come and still come up with unique and better processors.

    Great pedal built well...

    By Charles

    from California

Comments about Digitech RP360 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

This pedal is great ONCE you get the right settings dialed in. I would not pay attention to the names of the effects or the brand they emulate, because the pedals you would not expect to give that heavy thick power chord and solo with pinch harmonics sound may just be what the pedal was designed to put out the best sound with. I use the DigiTech Death Metal, DigiTech Grunge and Boss? MT-2 Metal Zone to get those nasty sounds but the only way you can get them to beef up IS if you use the compressor called Main Squeeze Compression/Sustainer. That adjusted right with a little reverb and chorus will make the best thick metal and rock sound I ever herd from a setup WITHOUT an amp. Havent used it yet with an amp but I got it mainly to use the headphones and aux in to jam with the radio. This pedal SCREAMS once you get the right settings dialed in. I would buy another if this one craps out. Best pedal I ever had.

Their are so many choices in Effects boxes , and I was interested in trying a Loop box also so this was my choice. I think I made the right choice , because I am having so much fun with it. And it has a hundred plus Effects to choose from and you can edit those to make them sound the way you want them to. I don't know if I'll ever get through all of them , but I'm having fun trying.

Comments about Digitech RP360 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

It has cleaner sounding effects than the Boss GT1. There are many amp simulations which the Boss is lacking. I would not say the Digitech box is difficult to use, but you will not get very far without reading the manual. The Nexus app has decent graphics, but no documentation, and less functionality that the editor and librarian than the Boss Gt1.
If you have a PC or MAC, you are not limited to the number of effect patches you can save.

Comments about Digitech RP360 Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

I already own an RP360XP. I like it so much that I bought a second one (without the foot pedal). My new RP360 acts as my live gig backup, and as my regular rehearsal hall pedal. This pedal is relatively uncomplicated and easy to setup and configure. Most importantly, it produces many excellent pedal sounds. The modulation and delay effects are my favorites. Surprisingly, I also get a lot of use out of the included drum machine. My big request there would be the ability for the Digitech Software to remotely control the drum machine. Maybe in an update?

Considering the very reasonable price of the RP360, I believe that this is a "can't miss" product. It's very well built and produces great sounds. Highly recommended.

I'm still learning how to get the patches I want on this box, but I'm finding them... and I get that the built in patches are meant to show off the various effects... so, like most FX pedals, all the presents tend to be big distortion. The problem I am having with this unit is that to invoke the tuner you press down the two left switches at the same time, and it is VERY picky about them being at the exact same time. I've about learned how to do it in my home studio with two thumbs, but trying to do it with one foot onstage it's tough, and if you don't get it just right, the pedal is probably on a different preset when you do finally get to the tuner and come back. Guess I just need to practice with it more, but I wish there was just ONE button to push to turn on the tuner. I have an old Digitech RP-3 pedal where this same "two buttons' method works a LOT better.
