400% more horsepower.
No wonder the Digitech RP250 sounds so good. You're looking at the one of the world's most advanced audio processors, the "engine" that gives this generation of RP modeling pedals so much more raw impact and subtle detail. Other manufacturers use general-purpose, off-the-shelf chips. But creating the best guitar tone requires a 100% specialized, optimized processor. Being total audio processing fanatics, "Chip Wizard" engineers at DigiTech set out to create a super-processor specifically designed to power a whole new generation of effects and models. The design team worked for over 2 years, literally re-defining audio signal processing at the chip level. Then "Tone Guru" engineersâfresh from production modeling triumphs like the Jimi Hendrix Experience Artist Series pedalâset to work taking advantage of all this raw processing power. When you hear what AudioDNA2 does for the tone of the DigiTech RP250 you'll agree it was all worth it.

This is a great unit for home/hobby playing -- which is why I purchased it. It has many different effects, and well worth the price. (In the late 70s I purchased a flanger that cost about as much). Nevertheless, I would not recommend for live performance, as it is too difficult to program, and you cannot easily change effects. I found the twin reverb effect poor when used with a hollow body jazz guitar (Joe Pass) but worked ok with a strat. The unit also generates some degree of extraneous noise. I played through a Fender Champ. All told, I have a great deal of fun with it at home, for which I strongly recommed it. You can't go wrong for the price. Some of the presets are a bit too "far out" to be useful in all but extremely limited settings -- they scare the dog as I cycle through them.

Got it for Valentines Day. Am having real difficulty using the features. I have not been able to use just the Tone Library without using the Effects Library. I would like to turn the Effects Libary off when I do not want Chorus, Phaser, Flanger etc with various tones in the Tone Library. I have read the manual several times and have not figured out how to access the virtual amplifiers and individual high tech stompboxes. I sent an email to customer service at Digitech over a week ago and they have not replied. Section Three of the owners manual is lacking basic directions. So far I have only used the Preset list. The volume on some of the presets is not consistent and has to be adjusted upward. I am not confortable enough with the product to download the X_EDit software. I did a preliminary calibration of the Expression Pedal and question why there is not a factory preset. If there is one it is not noted in the User's Manual. I have to say I am disappointed as the PR 250 is not as easy to set up and use as advertised. Too bad Diditech does not have a 800 number so a person can talk to a factory rep.

It can be terrible. it can be beautiful. it can be both. basically anything you put the time into making you can make. dream it, put passion and thought into it. you can make it happen with this pedal. so if you're just messin around and dont play guitar that much i'd suggest an older rp maybe but this one is just phenomenal for people whose brains have been melted by the world of the guitar like me.
I was looking for a number of separate effects pedals when I stumbled upon this. It had all of the effects that I wanted and many, many more. There's plenty of presets, with 120 and its so easy to change them. You can get completely different tones with one click. The finish on this product is amazing, no scratches dings or dents. This is a fantastic product, and I would recommend it to anyone that does a lot of covers, or doesn't want to spend a ton of money on separate pedals. A nice feature is that you can use this without an amp by plugging in headphones. Overall, a huge bang for the buck!
I got my RP 250 for x-mas. It is super easy to use, and has some really cool effects that you can do with it. There are different tones so you can make your guitar tone sound like your favorite rockers, Including: AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, The Who, etc. You will love it. Trust me, I have played for a while.
I have been playing guitar for about 26 years, and I have been taking lessons for most of that time. My teacher played guitar throughout the 60's, 70's, and 80's. His influence has pretty much removed me from the world of effects. I play lots of Steely Dan, Yes, Hendrix, Beatles, and big band jazz. I play through an older Fender Pro 185 combo amp, and my weapon of choice is an older Gibson 335-S Deluxe. When I bought the RP250 I had no prior experience with any effects, and I did not want to spend a small fortune on a unit that was too difficult to use. I was searching for simplicity and the RP250 is just what the doctor ordered! I cant believe how easy it is to use this unit. Every effect that the RP250 produces can be quickly adjusted to fit whatever sound that I want, and the wah pedal is perfect. I have incorporated the tones of the RP250 into my college jazz band, and my classic rock band. I have finally found an effects unit that enhances my styles, but does not mask my hard earned abilities.
My 15 year old daughter wanted a multi-effect pedal for her guitar. This one was a perfect fit. The Digitech pedals are by far the easiest to use and understand, and this one offers a wide range of sound tones that are perfect for her as she dabbles with guitar tabs and tries to play her favorite songs. Excellent tone quality.
Bought it almost 1 year ago and still love it. At first when I was looking for one I couldn't decide if I wanted it with or without the wah. I MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!
If there is any doubt that you have about this effect pedal get rid of it i've been playing guitar and learing but this pedal really expanded my horizen on what i can actually play and how to play it. this has great effects that are definatly worth the price there is nothing better for starters than this pedal you'll love it the minute you start useing it and it also has a headphone jack for regular sized headphone jacks which is really convient when i want to play loud
I got this pedal 4 to 5 hours ago, and I just think that this thing is so awesome. I have been messing around with it and found hidden things in it. This is a sweet multi effects pedal for not a lot of money, compared to single effects pedals. If you want a cheap multi effects pedal, but more for what you pay, buy this!!!!!
This pedal is amazing!! i just purchased this today, went home, hooked it up. and it was easy to hook up. the choices of sounds that this pedal make is just amazing and the wah is perfect best of all it has a drum machine and you get to record your own songs! its great for people that are beginners and experts plus its a pretty cheap price you can chose what tone you want effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, ect) and choose how much effect you want in it and then just jam id perfer this pedal to anyone that wants something worth their money!!
I got this multi effect pedal for my birthday and I use it all the time. All the sounds I like are in this one pedal. I always buy digitech pedals and the RP250 is my number one choice.
