Overview

The DigiTech RP250 is a guitar multi effects pdal that makes access to superbly detailed new amp models easier than ever before. In just 3 easy steps you dial in the perfect sound with the DigiTech RP250 pedal's Tone and Effects library knobs:

1. Pick one of 30 tone presets,

2. Pick one of 30 effects chains,

3. Dial in your effects level and rock on.

You may never go any deeper into the infinitely-tweakable RP interface. Digitech's RP tone and effects libraries let you access pre-designed combinations of models as fast as you can turn the knob. From mellow and bluesy to scorch-the-face-of-the-earth-raw, you're going to find combinations in the RP250 pedal that fit your playing style. The DigiTech RP250 is a modeling guitar pedal with the raw power for real players and tone that deserves to be heard on stage and in the studio.

USB connectivity for recording, preset editing/archiving/downloading and more.
The RP250 effects pedal is ready to talk to your PC or Mac computer: DigiTech has included a built-in 24-bit 2- in/2-out USB interface. Lay down tracks with your favorite multitrack DAW software. Play back a mix or MP3 cut directly through your RP250 and jam along. Download a free copy of X-Edit Editor/Librarian from www.digitech.com and customize presets, upload and download new tones; including those from magazine web sites and DigiTech's own thriving online player community.

400% more horsepower.

No wonder the Digitech RP250 sounds so good. You're looking at the one of the world's most advanced audio processors, the "engine" that gives this generation of RP modeling pedals so much more raw impact and subtle detail. Other manufacturers use general-purpose, off-the-shelf chips. But creating the best guitar tone requires a 100% specialized, optimized processor. Being total audio processing fanatics, "Chip Wizard" engineers at DigiTech set out to create a super-processor specifically designed to power a whole new generation of effects and models. The design team worked for over 2 years, literally re-defining audio signal processing at the chip level. Then "Tone Guru" engineers—fresh from production modeling triumphs like the Jimi Hendrix Experience Artist Series pedal—set to work taking advantage of all this raw processing power. When you hear what AudioDNA2 does for the tone of the DigiTech RP250 you'll agree it was all worth it.

This is a great unit for home/hobby playing -- which is why I purchased it. It has many different effects, and well worth the price. (In the late 70s I purchased a flanger that cost about as much). Nevertheless, I would not recommend for live performance, as it is too difficult to program, and you cannot easily change effects. I found the twin reverb effect poor when used with a hollow body jazz guitar (Joe Pass) but worked ok with a strat. The unit also generates some degree of extraneous noise. I played through a Fender Champ. All told, I have a great deal of fun with it at home, for which I strongly recommed it. You can't go wrong for the price. Some of the presets are a bit too "far out" to be useful in all but extremely limited settings -- they scare the dog as I cycle through them.

Got it for Valentines Day. Am having real difficulty using the features. I have not been able to use just the Tone Library without using the Effects Library. I would like to turn the Effects Libary off when I do not want Chorus, Phaser, Flanger etc with various tones in the Tone Library. I have read the manual several times and have not figured out how to access the virtual amplifiers and individual high tech stompboxes. I sent an email to customer service at Digitech over a week ago and they have not replied. Section Three of the owners manual is lacking basic directions. So far I have only used the Preset list. The volume on some of the presets is not consistent and has to be adjusted upward. I am not confortable enough with the product to download the X_EDit software. I did a preliminary calibration of the Expression Pedal and question why there is not a factory preset. If there is one it is not noted in the User's Manual. I have to say I am disappointed as the PR 250 is not as easy to set up and use as advertised. Too bad Diditech does not have a 800 number so a person can talk to a factory rep.

The Behringer B-2 Pro Condenser Microphone works really, really good. I have found so many uses for it. Especially when using it to recorder my acoustic guitar and lyric tracks. I purchased mine about a year and a half ago and it is still working great. The package cannot be beat especially since you get the mic, shockmount, and filter. The carrying case does a great job of keeping your valuable safe. I would reccomend buying this if you are shopping for a great micrrophone.

Great value for the $$$

By Mark

from Canton, MI

I bought the RP250 to simplify my live setup. I was pleasantly surprise at the quality of the effects and the degree to which I'm able to each of them. The pickup simulator is very useful in reducing the quack from my piezo pickup. This feature was an added bonus that I didn't realize existed in the RP250 until after I made the purchase. The only negative is that the pedals are too sensitive when trying to drop into bypass or tuner mode. Otherwise this is an outstanding product.

Digitech's Best Multi Pedal Yet

By guitarslinger

from Royal Oak, MI

This one little pedal just replaced my entire pedal board. Very simple to program. Even easier with the x-edit s/w. Connects to your computer via a usb cable. About time someone made it simple!. Great range of effects, amp models and amp cabinets and is extremely tweekable. The expression pedal is invaluable and contrary to a previous post, the wah pedal is fanstastic. I like it better than my Vox v847. I previously was using an RP50 which was OK at best but the RP250 totally blows it out of the water. Also sold my POD 2.0 after getting it. Wasn't even close in performance, why bother with it anymore? This is one well thought out and put together pedal. OK. Dislikes ... -very difficult to put in to by-pass mode -built in tuner only so-so -far to easy to hit the right foot switch while operationg the expression pedal Get it anyway :-)

so many sounds,so little time!

By titovincenzo

from royal oak, mi

just can't believe how many sounds you can get for $150. the tones are rich and you can still tweak them! the x-edit software you get for free on line is the icing on the cake! the combinations of effects, amp models, and tones are endless. recording straight to laptop is another plus. i use this strictly for recording but i HIGHLY RECOMMEND this awesome piece of equipment no matter what the application.

Best money I've ever spent on guitar pedals

By Anissa Acoff

from Akron, OH

I love the new pedal. I bought it the other day and I couldn't stop playing with it. It is so awesome, All the effects are superior compared to the older model pedals and you can plug the usb (sold seperately) into your computer and jam along with mp3s. I honestly love it. Every effect when you depress the pedal is a wah feature and the acoustic guitar simulator sounds just like the real thing and the metal effect is very powerful, don't waste money buying pedals that are 80 dollars and up each, this is one to have. Its a keeper!

Not as advertised

By Sheldon

from Illinois

This pedal is hard to use in the studio. The drivers on the Digitech website are not right for the unit. You have to download them if you want to use it. You will not be able to take it out of the box and start recording like the advertisements say you can. The sounds it makes are excellent but the USB interface is worthless.

maximum fun

By Randy Dazzle

from portland, OR

i own the RP250 and i love it!! it is by far the best way to go if you are into effects pedals and similar accessories. the obvious advantage is that this unit comes with all the pedals already in it, so you dont need to buy them individualy. the sky is the limit with the RP250. i play four to six hours a day and i have never been bored with it yet. a must have item!!

SHWEET

By youthere

from fairfax, va

i got this for christmas, and this baby can give you all the effects u can ask for. its so small too! but u HAVE to remember, if youre looking for just single effects, i wouldn't recommend this. The metal distortion could be a tad bit better, and the wah is absolutely terrible. i run my schecter c-1 blackjack through a crybaby wah, an RP-250, and a line 6 uber metal pedal and it sounds beast!!! almost two thumbs up!

Digitech RP 250

By Jeremy Case

from spartanburg, sc

This new pedal from Digitech is great. Its tone and sounds are far better than the previous Rp series. More effects and sounds in one pedal than any one guitarist would ever need. The quality is great it is made out of metaland it is heavy so you know its made tough. It feels like you could drop it off the roof and it would still work (i dont suggest this) Overall i would pay twice as much for this pedal for $150.00 it is a steal.

It's a MAD MACHINE

By Doug10-4\,"Memphis

from Tennessee\"

What can you expect it's a digitech you no when you plug it in it's going to sound great and you no that its going to have a great tone and a great selection of your favorite effects and sounds that the professionals use every day. The other thing that is good about it, is the new library of all the tones with the turn of a knob, and have all the drum effects with the touch of a button. It's conveinent it's fun and you will never get bored with it because you will always be finding new things to do with it. I also like the new feature of the rp's that it is USB connectible for recording, preset editing and you can download new tones and beats! that is awesome. DigiTech really brought out what they can really do with products by makeing the sound krystal clear and conveinient. And for the money it is really the modeling guitar processor to bye! I liked it so much I went to Guitar Center the day it went on the shelf and bought it

Great effect pedal

By Guitarist601

from OakRidge,NJ

I got the rp250 for christmas, it is a great effect pedal for begginers and people that have been playing guitar for a while. it has about 250 effects. It also has 60 drum patterns. The rp250 comes with a port to plug in a usb cable so you can record to your computer. I recomend this to everybody who would like a new effect pedal.

Super Pedal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By rb

from Charrlotte NC

I got it for christmaas. I was Amazed. It has over 10 distortion models, 2 flanger models, an equalizer, three kinds of wah pedals, dozens of amp and cabinet models, pickup models, reverb , phaser, rotary, chorus, vibrato, yaya, whammy, a built in tuner and a bunch of other stuff. it's also got dozens of artist presets, ,including Metallca, ACDC, Black Sabbath, Hendrix, Led zeplein and MANY more. You could have the worst guitar and amp and sound like a pro with this! One problem: No on and off button. You hae to unplud it to turn it off.Overall, best for your money. Dont buy any other pedals. This has it all.

Bang for the buck

By Bighammer

from Grantsburg, WI

Plugged this in last night and WOW. I am only a beginner but this thing modeled the tones I have been looking for beautifly out of the box. I cannot wait to start tweeking. I suggest this unit for any beginner because when you produce the tones of your favorite bands/music it makes it a heck of alot easier and fun to learn guitar. Beside for the price and if you have half a brain it is easy to use.

Awesome selection for $150.00

By benaram

I have bought and tried this RP-250 model and it is awesome. I can't believe how much more you can do with the X-Edit 2 software to change the setting and presets. I'm just a hobby guitar player but the remarkable effects for the price are well worth it.

RP250

By sm_starcaster

from Undisclosed

This thing is awsome!! It's got everything I'll ever need. Only down side is that it's a bit complex. I've had it for almost 2 weeks and I still dont know how it all works. X-Edit helped simplify some of it. Other than that, its a great value for the $150 price.
