Overview

The DigiTech HardWire Series TL-2 is a metal distortion pedal that lets you pick your poison. Metal can come at you fast with tight low-end and a crunching top—or stalk you slowly with a low, throaty roar that sizzles on the high end. The TL-2 distortion pedal's Tight/Loose switch controls the "tightness" of the low end and adjusts the midrange frequency to provide the best overall tone. Level, Gain, and Low, Mid and High tone controls with sweepable midrange allow you to dial in any tone with ease.

The HardWire pedals series represents the DigiTech commitment to quality and attention to subtle details. In addition to technical enhancements like true bypass and high voltage operation, all HardWire pedals feature rugged, all-metal construction; a wide, stage-stable footprint; durable, custom-machined metal knobs for a sure grip; and precision potentiometers that guarantee knob positions will stay intact.

The rugged, durable construction of Extreme Performance Pedals is just the beginning. Inside each HardWire pedal are technological features that serious players require—all updated and improved to their utmost capacity. True bypass preserves the purity of your original tone as signal passes through the pedal, and high voltage operation further protects your sound by eliminating clipping and other signal degradation caused by power drain.

With the high-output pickups found on some electric guitars, it's not unusual to hear clipping when playing through an effects pedal. This occurs when the voltage range produced by a guitar's pickup is greater than the operating voltage of the effects pedal—normally limited to the voltage supplied by the effect's battery or power supply. HardWire pedals incorporate circuitry that increases the operating voltage headroom above that of the typical pedal. As such, HardWire pedals benefit a wider range of guitars and are also at home in an amplifier's effects loop.

HardWire Pedals include the following stage accessories:
Stomplock™ knob guard locks your tone in place and prevent tampering or accidental knob adjustments onstage

My friends have the Boss Metal Zone pedal, and sure its not like it doesn't do anything, it just wasn't "metal" enough, not enough low I mean. But then I was introduced to this petal, and all I said was metal. It can go low like Fear Factory and Pantera, but with out blowing out a small practice amp. The "tight" and "Loose" switch is a great adition, but don't expect that practice amp to last with the low all the way up on loose. This petal will take some time to find that sweet spot, but once you do. Rock on.

WOW, I want 2

By Ryan Deusenberry

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Wow, I was wondering about how the new digitech Hardwires were going to sound. I only use Digitech pedals, and I wanted a little more. I use the Metal Master, and this one kicks some series butt. So now I use both metal pedals. for diferent sounds. i love both the tight and loose setting. And I was amazed at how the highs come out more clearer, and just add a little chorus and the sound is even more amazing. If you're in the market for a good distortion pedal look no further than the TL2 pedal, it just works for everyone.

Versatility!!!

By Jackson

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was at GC and decided to try this pedal. I ran it side by side with all the popular ones -- Metal Zone, etc. This pedal stood out BIG TIME! Don't be fooled -- it can get many sounds other than "Metal" -- whatever you want, really. To me, the #1 feature is the sweepable mid on the eq -- this is invaluable to anyone's guitar sound because it allows you to "dial in" the sweet tone that your amp wants to produce. Also, it's built like a tank, has a blue indicator light which is REAL easy to see in the dark, and it is true-bypass. This pedal ROCKS!!! I've been playing out for 20+ years and this is the first pedal that's ever made me feel compelled to submit a review! Nice Job Digitech!

METAL!

By zombie89

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was a little skeptical before buying this, but let me tell you, this pedal is amazing and very versatile. I was looking for a pedal with a lot of low end and chunky palm mutes but screamed on the high notes and this pedal does it all. Little tweaks with the knobs changes your sound a lot which is great. If your looking for a heavy pedal, look no further my friends. buy it NOW

Unbelievable fuzz

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Ok, so I went to GC to try out the Jekyll and Hyde pedal thinking it was going to be my new favorite thing. It had a good sound, but didn't have the crunch I was really wanting. Disappointed, I started looking around at some other pedals. I found this one and plugged it in and the heavenly light shown down...angels sang and everything was right with the world! I play rock and blues, but I tend to like it really distorted and this thing is it. There's so much metal coming out of this that it'll make any pre-pubescent boy's balls drop. Its that heavy, and build like a friggin tank. It takes a bit to dial in your particular sound, its very customizable. I love this thing and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for that true metal crunch!

the perfect rock pedal...

By Stew

from North Canton

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

this pedal is literally everything i have ever been looking for. i used to have a line 6 spider III amp, and i thought that amp had some pretty amazing distortion (even though it sounded a little bit digital/shallow), but after getting this pedal i am blown away. i have searched far and wide for a pedal with good distortion that can get the low chunky palm mutes as well as the screaming solos... i have tried out plenty of different stomp boxes and multi-fx pedals, and this one blows them all away. it has that amazing line-6ish distortion but without the fake, flat feel to it (nothing against line 6). on top of the distortion being great, it is very versatile. i would recommend this pedal to anyone who loves to rock... amazing

Dime would be proud

By Joseph Lang

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I went to GC to play with the MXR DD-11 Dimebag Darrell Tribute pedal. My friend Josh told me to look at this one as well. As soon as i plugged into this, my Lefty Dean Razorback grew some devil's horns and all metal hell broke loose. It has that In your face Dime tone (listen to Pantera's first four albums...you'll understand) which blew me away. Although its built for metal, i dialed in some great blues tones ranging from Stevie Ray Vaughn to BB King. The level, gain, low, high, mid, and mid frequency help keep your tonre nice and crisp, especially with the tight/loose toggle switch. It's punchy, versatile, and affordable. Digitech has finally come through with the best pedal ever made. Dime would be proud of this pedal.

Good cut through tone

By Ghost

from Seattle,Wa

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal a few days ago.Its loud and has good punch. Its basically a metal and hard rock pedal.I play alot of Death metal stuff and it has a clear tone.I do not like it better than the boss Metalcore or Metalzone.Boss makes great pedals. The digitech has its own sound and it sounds pro.It cuts through the mix very well.It has a good eq and low noise. You will like it.If your guitar has stock pickups it will still sound good with this pedal.

This Is It!

By toona

Comments about Digitech Hardwire Series TL-2 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Finally Digitech has come out with a pedal line worthy enough to beat the garbage out of BOSS pedals. This has an unbelievably thick tone that really sounds professional and if BOSS pedals can survive giging, than these can survive WWII
