Overview

From explosive chord work to high velocity leads, DigiTech's DOD Gunslinger Mosfet Distortion has the touch sensitivity, string-separation and saturation to do all your dirty work. The Gunslinger packs features like separate Low and High tone controls, a wide range of gain, tons of output, and your choice of 9 or 18V operation to keep you on target and in control. The Gunslinger' brushed-metal housing looks as tough as it sounds and its true-bypass circuitry keeps your tone pristine.

The DOD Gunslinger' Mosfet circuit clips at a gradual, steady rate when overdriven, offering clipping properties and harmonics similar to those from preamp tubes in a guitar amp. The Gunslinger is designed to react to the dynamics of your playing. The distortion will œclean up when you play softly and become more aggressive when you dig in and attack your strings.

The DOD Gunslinger offers independent Gain, Level, Low (Tone) and High (Tone) controls. Its true-bypass circuitry allows your guitar tone to remain pristine even when the DOD Gunslinger is off and its modern 9V DC power supply input and compact size make it pedal board friendly.

Wow! DOD Gunslinger Is Everything I've Wanted in a Dirt Box!

By Rob

from Northern NJ

Comments about Digitech Gunslinger DOD Mosfet Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Last night, I added the DOD Gunslinger to my acoustic(!) guitar pedalboard. I've been through a lot of dirt boxes for use on my acoustic/electric gigs, but none of them have given me a usable, believable electric sound. They all sounded fizzy or thin and I ended up just turning them off and playing the guitar with no effects for lead work. Depending on the song, this resulted in varying degrees of success.

With my LAG Tramontine with StudioLAG electronics and under-saddle piezo pickup, I really didn't expect the Gunslinger to do much, except maybe provide a usable lead boost. In fact, I bought this pedal to use on my electric guitar pedalboard. But, since it was in the house, I decided to give it a try with the acoustic. After a little tweaking, I was so happy with the sound that I decided to leave it on my acoustic board - which gets a lot more use than my electric guitar pedalboard - and maybe buy another Gunslinger to use with my electric. We'll see, but that's the way I'm leaning right now.

The Gunslinger provides great dirt without any fizziness at all. It even makes an acoustic guitar with a piezo pickup sound kind of like Bryan Adams' electric guitar on "It's Only Love." That, right there, is pretty amazing!

I really can't say enough good things about this pedal. The DOD Gunslinger is a great distortion box that doesn't go over the top with fizziness and doesn't make your guitar sound mushy or lose string definition. I don't think thrash metal guys would like this pedal on its own, but with a distorted amp, it would probably be fine even for them!

The Gunslinger gives a great, round, full lead sound and is great for grinding chords, while maintaining string separation and definition. Overall, this is a great pedal that would serve anyone in just about any style of music. Well done, DOD!
