The DigiTech Grunge Distortion Pedal is designed for loud, distortion-obsessed guitarists who want an edge-of-chaos sound. The Grunge provides chunky rhythm, heavy grind, and amazing sustained leads. It's been a top seller for over a decade. Not buzzy like other metal pedals. Includes Loud (level), Low, High, and Grunge (distortion) controls, as well as an amp output and dedicated mixer output with cabinet emulation circuitry.

i got this pedal and its the beat ive played on (boss ds1, digitech death metal, and fab metal) perfect amount of distortion. not to much, like the "death metal", and way more than the ds1. i recomend this pedal if u play metal. cause i get an early megadeth/pantera sound on this.

This is the 2nd pedal I ever bought. Way back in '94... AND I STILL USE IT! I've used lots of pedals and there ARE much better pedals then this out there, but it's always been one of my faves for blues, or metal rythm when performing. I also use it when recording or practicing. LOW feedback, not alot of gain or sustain. BOTTOM LINE: think "WEEZER" tunes like 'Buddy Holly' and you'll know EXACTLY how this lil guy sounds.

I got this pedal 6-8 years ago close to when I first started playing guitar When I started advancing in guitar knowledge and skill, I realized that just using the effects on my combo amp weren't good enough, so I went to my local guitar shop (sadly no Guitar Center nearby) to try out some pedals, but some affordable ones. I asked the guy what pedal was good for modern metal, and he pointed this baby out to me, I didn't think it would be right for me, but I was wrong. This thing shreds any other pedal and it has that deep sound that most other Metal pedals lack. This pedal has been my main distortion pedal ever since, and the only other pedal I've ever tried that I would ever replace it with would be the Boss metal one (I can't remember which one specificly) but when played through a good amp and some humbuckers, then you've got an amazing sound. I have recommended this pedal to all of my fellow guitarist friends, who are all switching to this pedal.
I'm in obsessed with NIRVANA and grunge but this pedal didnt give me what I needed. I wanted a pedal that played well with my other chours and effects but also kept the tone of my guitar (ESP M-51). It didnt do that at all. The feedback was terrible and when I turned it on the volume went straight down. Do your self a favor and get the Boss DS-1
After playing with this, I find it less grngy, and more serious overdrive. I think it would be great for a metal player, blues player, not so much. I had the "grunge" turned all the way down and it was pretty good, but would not use it for 70's rock n roll. It does well, I only gave it 4 stars due to I think it should be named a more heavy metal or hard core grunge rock than just a grunge pedal. I tried it with both my epi's, the sg pro, and the lp standard through a bugerra 120 watt tube amp on the clean channel
I love grunge, Green River, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone, etc. This pedal is awesome at replicating the crunchy, metallic, and sorta fuzzy distortion of the early 90s. The best pedal I own.
Amazing sound for the first week i had it. I loved the different tones and distortions i could get out of it until about a week after i had it i thought the battery died so i replaced it but the whole thing stopped working all together
I listened to the presets on the Digitech website but the reality is the only way for their presets to work correctly is on the guitar they recorded them on. The pedal buzzes quite a bit if you turn the grunge all the way up, but honestly there's no reason for that. It took me a few weeks to get everything adjusted the way i wanted it, but now it sounds great.
This pedal is my baby. I got it used at my local shop and it still sounded great. This was my first pedal and it only gets better with age. I mostly play thrash and deathcore and this works beautifully with both. Ive had and tried different pedals but I end up coming back.
plugged this thing in to my fender hot rod deluxe and with a few simple adjustments it sounded like I was playing through a full Marshall stack get this pedal you wont regret it... only reason i gave it four stars is because it burns through batteries pretty quick but all you gotta do is get the power supply and you're golden
I bought this recently from a local guitar shop, and I figured it would be good fro playing some grunge covers like Nirvana songs. Well, it blew the sound out the water. it was better than my MD-2, which before then I used all the time. Lets just say the Grunge pedal is staying in my arsenal for a long while. With the proper guitar, you can sound like Nirvana, or some Nu-Metal bands like korn and Disturbed, as well as Three Days Grace. It's a versatile distortion pedal.
starting directly with the sound. I plugged this thing in and first song i played was Sad But True it sounded amazing with all of the sustain and that real metal sound and i turned the low know up a little more than usual and had the high knob like right in the middle and i really got the Hedfield heavy riff sound out of it, it was great. Being as i thought this was just a grunge pedal i was real reluctant to play my classic rock stuff on it but i decided to give it a try so i turned down the grunge(distortion) knob and played american woman and a few songs by cream and it sounds SO SMOOTH on the solos and riffs its amazing. So if you like to jam out to the classic bands and need a smooth sound dont be turned away by the fact that it says grunge, all you gotta do is find the right settings and your ready to jam.. i definitly recommend this to anybody who wants a heavy, or smooth tone, or just a dirty loud tone definitly get this pedal
