This thing has a lot of cool sounds. It's also really easy to use and hook up. The only problem that I have really is that you have to "scroll" to every sound. there isn't a quick choice to different sounds. That can be really frustrating. All in all, it's not a bad product. Eventually I'll upgrade to a line 6 bass pod or a Boss. Both are $399.

Got this mainly for the compression, which worked ok. The unit is cheaply made from plastic, and the sounds are a bit fake sounding through an amp. It seems to produce a hiss when not playing. I took mine back. but for the money, it could be of some use I guess. Maybe if you are recording with it. It does have a pretty good amp emulation. Other than that, its your call. I'm thinking of getting the Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver and the Boss LMB-3.

Make your bass scream

By ramlax13

from NJ

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

This multi-effect pedal is great for anyone looking to change the sound of their bass. The pedal is very easy to use and has such a variety of sounds that you can make. I really like the pedal used with the different wah settings. This really makes my bass solos stand out when playing with my band and everyone asks me how I make some of the effects. You can't beat the price also. I recommend this to any bassist looking to make their sound a little more unique.

Good first processor

By BassFrog

from St. Louis Area

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

This is a good buy if you are looking for something to change up the bass sound, and not break the bank on a lot of single pedals. You can change tempos and beats on the drum feature to fit your needs, and the tuner is a great feature. The only drawback I see is the digital readout for the effects that you choose. It would be better if they were alpha for a quick change if you need it, but I would recommend that you give it a try!

Great for experimenting/good value

By BassFTW!

from Grand Rapids, MI

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

I was very impressed with the amount of features available on this processor. With 40 preset effects, and plenty of room for your own, this is great for a player, like me, who just wants to try to change up their sound, and they aren't sure quite what they want. The other great feature is the tuner, which is actually pretty simple to use. The only downside to this pedal is that it does feel a little cheap, and I wish that the main pedal had a little more resistance to it, like a traditional whammy pedal. Other than that, great value, and a great addition to a bass player's arsenal.

Reliable!

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

I've had this pedal for 4 years and i've never needed another. Although its a lower end multi-effects processor, its versatile and reliable in any situation. (Tuner,Drum Machine, Metrenome, Amp Models, Effects, Wah and Volume Control) Its all there I could get something better but I don't see the point this is the most helpful acessory i own for bass!!

Great for guitar too!

By ScreamsOfTheFallen

from Ephrata, PA

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

I was kind of hesitant buying this at first, but when I ran my Ibanez RG and Boss MT-2 into it, I was amazed. It pretty much eliminates the need for all the extra pedals (mainly delay, whammy, wah, and reverb) and still gives me that low-pitched metal sound. Plus the built in noise gate is a lifesaver, it eliminates nearly all of the excess static from my distortion pedal. Other than the fact that it takes a while to program all the custom effects (took me a few hours) and switching effects in mid-riff is a bit tricky, this was one of the best investments i've made.

Awesome Processer for the Money

By Dan

from Sandy Or

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

This is a killer processer for the ammount of money you spend on it. There are 40 effects (They loop after 40 so you can creat new ones). I enjoy playing with this and I still haven't found out all that it can do after 5 months. Some of them don't work very well, like the one that creates a note an octive down, and the wammy petal, but the rest are great. I wish it was made out of somthing other than plastic, because I don't want to break it. The thing produces great sound and the headphone jack is a plus. I wish I had an on off switch so I didn't have to take the batteries out or unplug it every time I was done using it. It is a great introductory or fall back for effects, and great for recording. I would recomend it for anyone just starting out or on a budget. Well worth every penny

awesome... if you know how to use it.

By Adam G.

from Tennessee

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

I first went into the store to get a distortion pedal, but I came out with this. For the price, it's awesome, especially since it includes tons of amp models, wahwah effects, fretless effects, etc. One of the things I don't like too much about it is the distortion. On the amp model settings you can choose how much gain to use, but it is hard to get a heavy distortion without overpowering the tone of the bass. The distortion is great in standard tuning, but as soon as you tune it down to B it gets sloppy sounding. The other effects are great though! I especially use the whammy effect with some high gain on which makes for a good effect. It includes 80 presets, but unfortunately, you can only program the first 39 or 40. If you play around with it you can get some really get effects going. Overall, I'd reccomend this as a good buy.

Excellent Pedal!

By HBsrx

from Wall, NJ

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

The DigiTech BP80 has plenty of effects for any bassist. Being able to CREATE your own effects is practically priceless. It comes with 80 sets, 40 preset ones, and 40 more than you can set(they come standard as the first 40, but are changeable) The wah pedal seems a tad fragile, so don't stomp it. All in all, excellent pedal and well worth the bucks.

Not bad

By Roy

from MA

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

The DigiTech BP80 Bass Muti-Effect Pedal does what's in the name.. provide you with lots of effects. Alot of them are cool to try out and sound neat through other instruments such as electric violin and guitar also. However, it seems like it's all plastic. It's too light and feels like I might break the thing if I put too much weight on it. I wish they threw in some weights or some studiness to it. Other than that, great buy.

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

This is a great pedal. I love the drum machine on it. The only problem with it is that the presets are almost alike, but you can change them. Overall, I would recomend it to everyone even beginners because the drum machine can really help you improve.

It's like 50 pedals in one!

By BBIBassist

from USA

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

This thing is absolutely amazing once you read the manual to see what all this baby can do. My favorite things about it is that I created my own effect, mixing ElectroHarmonix Pi distoton and Crybaby wah to sound EXACTLY like Cliff Burton. Another astounding thing about this pedal (that you'll have to read how to do in the manual) is that youcan get cabinet modeling. You can make your amp sound even louder if you select the right modl, but you sacrifice some tone.

Good all around effects pedal

By Sombra Lobo

from Hastings, MI

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

I got my BP80 around two or three weeks ago and I love it. It has a bunch of effects that any bass player on a limited budget needs. The thing I recommend when using the BP80 is to not have an amp modeling effect on while plugged into an amp. The stomp boxes work well with an amp and don't need to be tweaked with all that much. If you're recording, this is great because of all the affects. The reverb is especially sweet with headphones on because the church setting sounds like you are in a church, and with the combination of delay and the spring (underground hot spring) it sounds like you're playing in a cave. Good for limited budget bass players, as I've said, because I'm one myself and this is all you really need, unless of course you step it up to the BP200.

Little Box, Big noise!

By Icefire

from Somes Bar, Ca

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

I've only been using this for about 6 months now, and have yet to figure out how to get every sound possible this thing can do!!Once you get used to the setup, the prgrams are user friendly, the effects tasty, and the Amp modeling decent. I play a Dean Q4 thru this into a Fender BXR 100 rig, and it sounds just right for Metal and Hard rock. A few of the effects sre a little too spacey for me, but this thing has something for everyone, that's for sure! Good Quality, amazing amounts of effects combinations, and compact size, all in a package anyone can afford! Can't go wrong here.

Lots of boom for your buck

By Fuzzball

from Ida, MI

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

I am usually not a fan of most bass effects processors but for the price the DigiTech BP80 it is well worth the cost. This is a very good stage tool. The classic cab models really add to the bass guitars variety of tools. The DigiTech BP80 has 20 bass effects that are quick and easy recall. If you need a good Bass effects processor I would highly recommend the DigiTech BP80!

BP80 (Best Pedal)

By Rob

from Ohio

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

Wow, what a fine piece of equipment. I got it as a gift from my girlfriend, her not knowing much about the pedal did extremely well with finding this. There are so many different presets to chose from, plus you can make your own, there are seamlessly never ending amounts of variations of effects. Plus the ability to add the drums into jam out to is amazing, i use it all the time, this defiantly deserves a 5 star in my book.

Great Bass Effects Pedal

By JSE

from US

Comments about Digitech BP80 Bass Multi-Effect Pedal:

When i first got this pedal, it seemed very confusing and frustrating to use. But it just takes some time to get to know how to do everything. And once you know how to work it, sky's the limit. The pedal is great and there are so many awesome sounds. And you cant beat the price. my only complaint is that the wah effect isnt the greatest, but other than that its good.
