I bought the DRI100 so I could simply compare it to other microphones on a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier... I really did think that this mic was going to be the worst sounding thing ever heard... but it's not!!! It's kind of a mixture between the highs of an Audix i5 and The Lows of a Shure SM57. It's a great deal! Is it a MAIN microphone? no... but then again... what Microphone is!

I've only had this mic for two days, but I'm taking it back, as the output volume seems to be quite low. I've recorded with a Zoom G3 (going right into my computer), and the volume on that was okay, so I don't think it's the computer. The sound quality seems very good, however, and it's very sturdy. If you have an interface or software that could boost the volume a bunch without feedback, or didn't mind the added gain, you'd be set.

Awesome Instrument Mic!!

By Andrew Holmes

from Caldwell, Idaho

Comments about Digital Reference DRI100 Dynamic Instrument Mic:

This microphone is great. I've been using it on my guitar cabinets, snare drum, and other percussion, and everything comes through clear and strong. Very sturdy, high quality mic. Easily comparable to the Shure SM57, but only for half the money. Buy it!

Very Pleased

By Michael Kassel

from Michigan

Comments about Digital Reference DRI100 Dynamic Instrument Mic:

I was looking for a nice dynamic mic to mic my ukulele. I did not want to spend a lot so when this one went on sale for $29 I could not resist. I have had DR mics before for vocals and have been happy with them and this one is no exception. Has very good feedback rejection, gives a very full, punchy sound with lots of bass, and you do not need to be "right on it" for it to pick you up. In fact, a little distance makes it a lot better. I am surprised by how well this mic works and sounds and it actually feel quite hefty and durable as well. Even at $50 this is a bargain, but at $29 I wish I would have bought a couple more.

    Pleasantly surprised

    By Lester Petrarca

    from West Warwick, RI

Comments about Digital Reference DRI100 Dynamic Instrument Mic:

Not gonna' lie. I bought this mic because it was on sale cheap.....REAL cheap so, I thought I'd take a chance. Turns out, it's a nice little mic for recording my acoustic guitar. I also use it to mic my bass and guitar cabs too. It's entire life will be spent in my little, budget-minded home studio so, I'm thinking it should last for some time. I'm actually watching for another sale on them so I can grab another pair.

Great microphone at this price point. I use two of these in my amp box during worship service and the sound comes through loud and clear each time. This is an amazing mic compared to the Shure SM57 at half the price. Get it!

Comments about Digital Reference DRI100 Dynamic Instrument Mic:

I bought this mic for solo acts to use with my vintage USA Ovation. After reading a couple of reviews I decided on this mic, rather than the 57. It sounds just as good!
