Greatffor the price, except for kick

I bought these in a bind to get some tracking done for a friend's band and was surprised at what we ended up with. I ran the overheads through a Behringer T1953 and got such a full and crisp sound I didn't even need to mic the toms. Also top and bottom mic'd the snare with great results. The only downfall is the kick mic. It was very dead sounding, but I had an Audix D6, so it didn't matter. Overall, I'm very pleased to get a $1000 sound from $200 worth of mics!

Live Performance

In starting up a all ages venue here in San Diego, cost has been our biggest issue. Not wanting to make a mistake and buy something just because its the best deal. Doing some research and taking a chance, we bought the DRM7 system and was very surprised at what we got. For live area venue of about 4K Square Feet this system worked better then we hoped. Running a 24 Channel Mackie Mixer and some old Peavey Amps we really couldnt get much better sound then what these mics picked up. The only issue we had was adding alittle more bass to the DR-KX1 Kick drum mic. Bottom line- you cant beat the price on these mics.

Worth the cash...

as stated, worth the money. i tracked a pre pro demo for our 6th album with these and good crisp overheads, dw toms were picked up perfect with lows and attack. the bass need alot of eq to get a decent sound. but still we did not gog the bass drum. only the snare and we used 2 sm57s for it! here what i suggest, use the overheads as they are super, use the tom mics for racks and bottom of snare, use the kick mic for floor tom, and spend the cash on a correct kick mic and sm57 for top of snare. this is as professional as youll get for the money. very pleased with this mic kit though. keith, DISARRAY

Worth the money

I just purchased this set and was really happy with the sound they produced. We ran them through a Behringer SL2442FX-PRO and I've never heard my TAMA Kit sound so good. Easy to set up and get dialed in. They really picked up my snare and toms. The kick needed a little bit more volume, but this was easy to do with the mixer. Overall for the money they were well worth it.

Very good mics

I was a little unsure when I bought these mics, but I have been very pleased with the sound. The sound is very rich with lots of punch. I have used an Audix D4 on my kick drum and the kick drum mic in this kit has just as much punch if not more. You will need to use an EQ to get the exact sound you are looking for but you cant go wrong with these mics.
