I got this pedal last weekend and so far it's ok. Most of the distortion settings sound muddy and distant, and it's pretty hard to control when you're moving around a stage. I've discovered that I prefer my amp's distortion way better, and find myself unplugging this pedal more than I'm using it. Also, when I have it in bypass mode and want to use my regular settings, all I hear is a loud buzzing noise over my playing. Though it has some good clean effects, I suggest buying a separate pedal for distortion or just using your amp.

Sweet multi effects for the price!

    By Carlos

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I've been playing for about 13 years. Just playing around or jamming with friends. I bought one of these maybe 1 1/2 years ago and gotta say I love the thing. Lots of effects to keep you entertained. It's got just about everything you can think of. Lots of different distortions, chorus, flanger, reverb, amps and cabs. And the build in expression pedal for use with the wah, whammy, and volume pedals, you can do just about anything with it! It's got 50 user presets, and 50 factory presets (that you can't change). A tuner, bypass mode and a variety of drum loops. It's made of plastic but is pretty durable, so as long as you're not jumping up and down on the thing it'll hold up. It's not professional quality, but for the price, it should be obvious that it's not. It's perfect though if you're in a garage band or just for jamming out in your room. With the built in headphone jack, you don't even need an amp to play. This is definitely worth your money. You won't find anything as good at this price point. I would definitely recommend it!

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I am an acoustic guitar player who wanted to add a new flavor to my sound. I bought this pedal even though they said it would not work well with acoustic guitars-but it adds beautiful effects to it. This pedal made me buy an electric guitar 3 weeks later. I especially like preset 24 which is a phaser distortion tone. It has good clean sounds, great wah, and decent distortion. It works great for my sound.

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

This was an excellent buy. I was looking for a good wah-wah pedal, and the store guy recommended this. I played it on the Wahsup channel, and it was as good as any other wah pedal. It has many great effects. It even has a drum machine, when I feel like playing to a beat. It was a really great buy.

    killer product

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Great product for the price. My instructor used a line 6 modding amp along with the line 6 foot pod and it made me jealouse enough to want something for effects myself. Well, this my not be up to those standards, but considering he payed WAY over the 99 dollar price i did to get some digital effects and amp modeling I am not that jealous anymore. This thing has a ton of cool sounds and for the price, I couldn't be happier.

    Surprisingly versitile

    By Harry

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I love the different amp modeling the RP90 gives. It has enough features and effects to make everyone happy, and the amp modeling is the feature that I think really sells this thing. I can dial in just about any amp sound, and the RP90's tone is right-on. My only gripe about this multi-effects pedal is that the Wah-pedal effect sounds cheesy. Even with this negative feature though, the RP90 has enough great features for me to still give this review five stars. The RP90 is a tremendous value, and I'm recommending it for any style of player.

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I recomend this pedal for begginners but if your gonna use it on stage i prefer a better built pedal for it since the sensor for the expression pedal goes out really easy with just a little abuse so if you are gental with your equipment i prefer it but if you need rugged equipment like me i prefer something else

I got this effect pedal last week and im really impressed, this thing could go from metal to rock to acoustic and everything in between. You could customize to the very precise sound u want, and the 40 drum beats it comes with really brings out some creativity flow i say if u need a pedal with many effects and more this is the one to go with.

Best Thing Next to a Real Marshall

    By Joe

    from Scituate, RI

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I was seeking out an effects pedal just to try one out. I didn't know how much I would use the effects, so when I found this, I thought it would be great because of its drum machine and built-in distortion. The effects are studio quality. The drum machine is superb (although there are a couple of patterns I would like to throw in). The distortion and amp modeling is next to the real thing. My favorite is the JCM800. I have nine presets for it, each on a different gain stage, with the pedal controlling the reverb. A good EQ setting is Bass 9, Middle 6, Treble 3. The only problem is that the EQ sometimes gets messed up. The same setting can have two different sounds, but I can fix that by setting all the EQ settings to one, storing that, then setting the EQ to fit my desire. It makes my New York Pro Les Paul Copy and my Danville TED-10D sound almost as good as a Gibson Les Paul 1960 through a Marshall JVM410H (which I have played and sounds like heaven on earth). I would reccomend this pedal to the beginner (and I have) and to the experienced player (which I also have).

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

My friend had this pedal, and had used it a little bit, so I decided to get one for myself. After about an hour of toying with it I was able to customize 4 different presets to my liking. The pedal has definitely changed my band's sound, and really helps make more creative diverse riffs. Definitely a must buy!!!

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I originally wanted to buy a Whammy pedal but i bought this instead after hearing that it came with a whammy setting. The overall sound quality of this pedal is good but its not the same as the real pedals and i'm not complaining because I wasnt expecting it to sound the same. However, it is a close second place. This is a great pedal for just about everyone, it suits my tastes quite nicely. Im now planning on buying a new one since my last pedal caught fire, i have no idea how that happened but i doubt it happens often.

Well, my birthday is the day after i got this. i went to a store and got this and i was ripping it up .(pictures fell) it is incredibly smart. i've been using the wah pedal nonstop for almost 3 hours now and it has skipped only slightly every now and then. for the price I recommend this to all medium, begginers. I enjoy the very many combinations of sounds it comes with. so all in all it pretty good.

    Awesome pedal!

    By Matthew Humphries

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Wow so I bought this pedal back in January and it is amazing. All the different distortion models and amp models blew me away. I had been looking at several differnet multi-effect pedals and this one had everything I need and more. I especially love the octave effect and the expression pedal allows you to screech those hogh note or drop down to a bass sound. This pedal also has a decent drum machine which Ive used to record some demos when my band is too busy to practice. Right now I use a Gibson flying V through and a Raven RG-100 with it and it is great. If you want a pedal with everything this is it it covers a lot of pedals, no more changing pedals again!

    Solid effects pedal for anyone

    By Brett Robbins

    from Memphis,TN

Comments about Digitech RP90 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I got this pedal for Cristmas, and within 10 minutes I had the instructions down pat. This is a great pedal for anyone. The distortion I find best for that Killswitch Engaged or Bullet for my Valentine is the 01 mesa boogie dual rectifier, or the digi tech metal settings in the distortion/cabinet models. Unless you have a decent or modern made amp, the distortion won't get really heavy- even with the EQ. I have a Peavey stereo chorus 2-12from the 80's and a Peavey bandit 1-12 from 99 or 2000 version. It was ok on my 2-12, but since it's older-it's expected, But, it kicks so much on my bandit that it's crazy. Highly recommended for everyone who likes anything from country to deathmetal. The wah is not as bad as some people say. You just got to know how to change the expression pedals settings. Get this pedal and you won't be denied quality. Don't get ticked at the chromatic tuner - it's sensitive - I smashed my foot down on the pedal and cracked it, but me being an idiot -It took me stomping as hard as i could with my weight - 147 lbs. Its made of plastic - but it's a tank, don't worry about abusing it unless you plan on playing soccer with it.
