Overview

The DigiTech RP1000 guitar pedal is loaded with over 160 effects and 200 presets giving you a splendid range of tones. With an integrated effects switching system, no longer will you have to do the pedal tap dance-just select your preset and your tone is engaged, just the way you like it. This DigiTech pedal comes with a built-in phrase looper with 20 seconds of record time. You can also route external effects pedals through it using the stompbox loop.

Your Amp

The Digitech RP1000 comes with an Amp/Cabinet bypass switch that allows you to turn off the RP1000's internal amplifiers and cabinets so your amp's tone stands alone.

Simplicity of a Guitar Pedal

Popular on the Digitech RP500, the RP1000 multi-effects pedal also features the Pedalboard Mode that turns footswitches 6 through 10 into stompbox-style effect on/off controls.

100 different Pedalboards

When the Amp/Cabinet Bypass is used in conjunction with the Pedalboard mode, the RP1000 turns into 100 different pedalboards. You get instant access to both preset changes and stompbox on/off control-truly the best of both worlds.

The DigiTech RP1000 pedal is built like a tank from a cast-metal chassis to the 14 vacuum-style switches. A large 10 character LED display makes for easy stage use topped by a built-in expression pedal to control wahs, volume, whammy, and other parameters.

Your sound is king; the control of your sound is imperative. The RP1000 pedal gives you added control to express yourself the way you want-no longer will the lack of control stand in the way of your expression.

I have used tube amps my whole life (I've been playing for 45 years), and I was loathe to go to a modeling unit, but these days I perform as a single and plug directly into the board and needed a solution to keep the equipment at a minimum. I sold my '68 Fender Super Reverb in order to buy this unit, and not only do I have no regrets, I don;t miss my old amp at all! I just got the unit today, and I plugged it directly into one of my powered speakers to get a sense of it's accuracy. The amp/cab emulation is amazing! I get the same resonance I would expect from the actual amps I selected! As a 60's kind of player, I expect to get certain harmonics from certain amps in an overdrive/feedback situation. This multi-effect delivers! The stomp-boxes are accurate, and the amp models deliver all of the characteristics of the actual amp! I messed around with controlled feedback, and pulling characteristic benefits from the different amp models, and got what I'd expect with the actual amps and effects! That's saying something. Keep in mind, that I am working as a single with pre-recorded back up tracks, but with this plugged directly into one of my Behringer powered speakers, I got the same feel and reaction as I would with the actual amp! The feel and sound are dead on! I have a Marshall Plexi or '65 Twin at the tap of a switch! I will have no problem working with a band with just this pedal board and one of my powered speakers (550 watts, bi-amped). Next task is to plug it in to the mixer and dial it in for use with my back-up tracks. I foresee no issue doing this. I can see why this works so well when used with an amp! And the beauty of this for me is that I can still use my vintage effects via the effects loop, and get all of that great amp emulation into my board! Just about every stomp-box I ever wanted to own is in it, as well as all those great amps I could never actually afford to buy. If you ever wanted an unlimited tonal palette, this is the solution! 'What can I say about this elixir!' (Frank Zappa from 200 Motels) Get one, you won't regret it!

I am a GNX fanatic and I love digitech's quality craftsmanship. I bought this and was going to use it with the 4 cable method. The unit did not give a transparent feel to my signal and it degraded it a good bit. I then tried running straight through my Valveking input and I couldn't get rid of a shrill frequency. Would not recomend. Sorry DT.

Buy This First

By MIKE

from Atlanta, GA

After many years away from playing, I was lucky enough to inherit a collection of about 30 highly desirable vintage guitars, mostly electric. The urge to start playing again was impossible to resist. Now the problem was that I wasn't sure which quality amp to invest in to complement the broad range of guitars I now owned and the varied styles and genres I enjoyed playing. That's not to mention which effects to buy. I knew I could spend a fortune experimenting. It was just a hobby after all at this point. After a little research and thinking, I decided to go the route of an effects processor and get an RP500. The plan was to use it with a small Yamaha PA system I had purchased for business use. I was immediately impressed. Problem solved! I was up and playing getting all the sounds I wanted with tons of room to grow! Then, I ran across an RP1000 on sale for about the same price as the RP500 within time to make the exchange. The RP1000 was a better solution for my money. The primary difference between the two being an extra row of foot switches which allow you to move between pre-sets AND switch effects on and off at the same time. The RP1000 also has a 20 second looper, which if it were say 5 minutes would make the RP1000 perfect for my use. But overall, it offers incredible versatility with excellent modeling of all of the amps, cabs, and effects. It's not perfect, but it saved me $1000's and I'm sure cut the time in finding my favorite sounds by months or even years. Now, with what I've learned, I can invest my money in the right amp and effects more wisely. About the RP100 itself. First, its built like a tank. I especially like the fact that it works with my computer for a better interface to all of the options and saving the individual modeling setups. I doubt it would be satisfactory for the studio, but I can easily see it working perfect for gigs. It greatly accelerated the learning process for mean I'd definitely recommend it for any beginner or someone like me coming back to the guitar. One last word, the PA works great especially for the stereo effects. I'm thinking that a bigger/better PA is all I would really need at this point. I've also heard that the Tech 21 amps are ideal for this kind of setup because they provide only the power amp side with a guitar cabinet thus not coloring any of the RP1000 as the pre-amp side with a guitar specific speaker. I'm sure a pair of them would rock.

The Greatest Addition to any Musician's Repertoire

By Kevin Bradley

from Philadelphia, PA

I've had this product for about 2 years and I am still as excited to play it every day just as I was when I first purchased it. Let's start with its look, all metal body gives it a tough exterior and an amazing look. The bright LED lights are perfect for any lighting. But let's get down to what is inside the piece. Whatever sound you want to get, the choice is yours. From some of the heaviest medal to the smoothest classical music, you can find it. It doesn't even matter what type of amp you use for this because the pedal does it all. With numerous amps and cabinets, it's like you have some of the greatest and most popular amps right at your foot. I am a huge pink Floyd fan and I was overwhelmed when I saw that one of the factory presets was titled "Gilmour". The fact that the musician can choose between switching between 10 presets or 5 presets with the option to add a compressor, distortion, chorus, delay, or reverb setting is beyond incredible. The options this piece allows the musician to reach is limitless. I also love the looping system which can allow me to loop some nice chord progressions with a nice tone. After the loop is nice and smooth, I can change my sound to a more "solo" type feel and over the loop for hours on end. I will never need anything other than this.

4 stars ONLY because nothing is perfect !!! :)

By melquiades cavero

from Federal Way , WA.

I've been playing 28yrs. and after 26yrs. I broke down and decided to trade in my last amp set-up (Bogner and Orange) for this unit and honestly ; I could NOT be happier. Obviously it's not for everyone , it's not meant to be. And although ; admittedly , most of the effects I'll never use ; it's nice to have them readily available should the need arise. I have always kept a relatively simple set-up with most of my attention and focus being on "MY-TONE". I have found "MY-TONE". And the key is not just in the amp models you choose , but if and how you choose to fine-tune the parametric e.q. I have 2 heavily modified Epiphone Les Paul Customs (w/ coil-taps) that run into a Jim Dunlop Crybaby Cantrell and Jim Dunlop Rotovibe then in to the Digitech RP1000. All are mounted to a Pedaltrain PRO. My CORE tones consist of : 1. Acoustic 2. Clean 3. Dirty 4. Heavy 5. Lead In between those core tones are subtle variations that include modest use of Compression ~ Overdrive/Boost ~ Stereo Chorus ~ Stereo Delay ~ Reverb. This is "MY-TONE" and I LOVE it !!! Warning : It does NOT program itself to sound great... ;)

good stuff

By kelly cain

from aztec nm

i purchased this product a month ago and as yet havn't even started in on filling in my own channels as i am still experementing with the factory sounds. i play it through a G-DEC 30 on blackface clean (99). i am totally satisfied with the product because of the versatility of sounds available the tuner is handy if you don't already have 15 of m. one nice feature not mentioned in other reviews i read prior to purchase is the mix of tones per 5 or ten channels selected so you can tone swap pretty wide with one push of a button. so far solid as a mack truck and really simple operation.next project for me is more watts-n-speakers as my effects loop is completed and then some

This is AWESOME!!!

By Alexander Anderson

from Lakin Kansas/ Goodwell Oklahoma

I got this pedal from my instructor about two weeks ago. This is a relatively easy pedal to use. The instruction manual helps but if you just play with it you'll figure all the basics out. It has such a variety of sound, I don't think I'll need any other pedals for some time. I had one problem but it was quickly and easily resolved. If you hold down the number 1 button passed the tuner it'll say "Toe up" or "Toe down" one of these renders the expression pedal useless. So if you don't want that then don't hold the button too long.

Awesomesauce

By Tim

from Duncan Falls , Ohio

After looking at the x3/xt live, boss gt-10, and the rp1000, went to gc and bought the rp1000. Couldnt be happier! The multiple switching options work with about any type of amp/mixer/computer setup. Ive been running the output into the effects return of my peavey ultra 60, and cannot tell Im bypassing the tube preamp. For me, only about 20-30 of the presets are something I would ever use. But with 100 factory and 100 user, its no problem. My ONLY issue is the noise gate built in. It keeps thing dead quiet, but will drop notes. I've only had it for a few days, so I may need to tinker with it some more.

Best multi-effects unit for me!

By GrindingItOut

from Minnesota

I own the Pod X3 Live and the Digitech RP1000. The pod seems to offer a bit more flexibility with the ability to play through 2 separate rigs at once and a few more routing options. But I'll take the RP1000 hands down every time over the X3 Live. To me it sounds way better! I actually use it with my Twin Reverb instead of my analog pedalboard which includes an 808 and a TS9 both Keeley modified. I rarely use them anymore! Nice job Digitech!

Heaven!!!

By MikeyTheRipper

from Eugene Oregon

I just got one for my birthday and i want to take a minute to explain this multi pedal. EVEN though it got a 4 on overall online in my opinion i gave it a 100* review. I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now and i'm extremely picky when it comes to tone. This delivered. I had a pocketpod about a year ago and gave it to my friend because it wasn't very user friendly, and it was just very low quality. This however is extremely user friendly and it replicates my pedals more than ever. I have an MT-2 and i found the Zone mode on it which is based on the MT-2 and i made it sound better than mine. There aren't enough words to say how happy i am, if your looking for great tone, great effects, user friendly system look no farther Thanks Digitech!
