The DigiTech JamMan Express XT is simple, small, and very sophisticated. With true-bypass, 10 minutes of stereo looping, Silent Clear, and JamSync the Express XT is a perfect looper for your pedalboard or addition to your JamMan XT looping set-up. It's incredibly easy to use with dedicated LEDs clearly showing its status. The Express XT works right out of the box using a 9V battery (included) or you can power it with an optional power supply.
When looping, timing is everything; JamSync takes care of it. JamSync automatically synchronizes with another Express XT or JamMan Solo XT allowing you to create independent yet perfectly synchronized loops. Using JamSync you can build a custom multi-track looper or build loops with your band. The Express XT is the first looper to feature DigiTech's new Silent Clear feature. The Express XT automatically recognizes when you press to clear the loop and stops the loop from playing through your amp. Silent Clear saves you from reaching over to turn down your amp or your looper while you clear it.
The Express XT is an incredibly simple looper and easy to use. It works just like every other looper with record, stop, play, unlimited overdubs, and undo. We made it even easier with a dedicated LED per status. The Express XT can run on a 9V battery (included) and works right out of the box. You don't have to spend any more of your hard earned money to get a power supply just to use it when you get home. Not only is the Express XT the best, most full-featured compact looper in the world, it's also the most affordable.

I'm finally getting serious about studying arpeggios. I wanted a simple looper to lay down single chords as well as common chord progressions that I could play arpeggios over. I've recorded chord progressions on my home studio for this purpose, but I want to be able to try different keys and chord inversions on the fly without the hassle of recording and organizing clips. I considered the Ditto, but went with the JamMan Express XT because of the longer record time and I also like the simple red-green-yellow interface. Been using it for two weeks or so and I am thoroughly pleased. I put it last in my signal chain before the amp. I record a chord progression with no effects and then play on top of that with a little bit of distortion and/or reverb so that I can hear how the arpeggio sounds over the chord as I'm playing it (and have a little fun). I know there's a lot more that can be done with this device - including live performance - but right now it's the perfect practice companion.
I have only been playing for about a year and a half and I wanted something to help me with practicing my scales over some chord progressions. I read a couple of reviews about different types of loopers and I wanted something simple with out allot of options since I a a newb and only playing at home at the moment. I do like the led indicators which clearly indicate which mode you are in when either recording or dubbing over a track. It is really allot of fun to play with and helps learning how to jam, well worth the money.
Look I was in the market for a simple easy home use looper that I could lay a rhythm track to and be able to come up with solos for new songs. I looked into the Ditto and was impressed about the small size and what seemed like a good price. Well later on when I looked again I stumbled upon the Jamman. I couldn't believe that the Jamman is $30 dollars cheaper with a few extra bonuses. I can't tell you about the Ditto because I never bought one or tried it out but I can tell you that I am 100% satisfied with the Jamman and can recommend it. Completely impressed with the sound quality and the fact that it is the only looper so far that has not messed with my tube amp (some others not going to mention names have in the past). The only draw back that I have had so far is that the battery life is very short so it is a must to have the power supply and do get the Harmon International that Digitech request so you know at least you have the right one. I will post later about the durability of the pedal, I have not owned it long enough to say what the life expectancy is going to be but I also suggest the added coverage that Guitar Center sells with it due to it being a looper meaning you will be stomping on it a lot. Very good pedal though so far very easy to use.
I was looking for a simple looper pedal just for messing around at home. I gave a long look at the Ditto and heard a lot of good things about that pedal. I was just about to pull the trigger on that one until I saw the JamMan Express and I jumped on it. This pedal is super easy to use and the 3 LEDs leave no doubt about which mode I'm in. I can lay down several layers and they sync up very nice. I like the fact that I can use an outside power source rather than simple battery power. (I hate replacing batteries in pedals!) The stereo option is great, though I haven't taken advantage of it yet. It doesn't appear to color my sound at all. I'm very pleased with this inexpensive looper pedal and it has proven to be a great purchase for me. Well worth the small price of admission.
Works the way it should and very simple and small. I originally bought a ditto pedal but returned it after I discovered that you couldn't delete the loop without a small fragment being played back...what a bummer you woule have to reach down and turn the volume all the way down then delete the loop. This pedal works correctly plus has the ability to time sync with other pedal and stereo (if you use that)nad can take a power adapter...the ditto is battery only.
