Overview

The DigiTech Hardwire Series HT-2 is a chromatic tuner pedal that is visible, accurate, and durable when in use; transparent when not. The cornerstone of every pedalboard is a reliable tuner. The HardWire Chromatic Tuner's true bypass means that when it is off, it's out of the circuit. With the DigiTech Ht-2 tuner you can tune with confidence, using tone with integrity.

The DigiTech HardWire pedal series represents DigiTech's commitment to quality and attention to subtle details. In addition to technical enhancements like true bypass and high voltage operation, all HardWire pedals feature rugged, all-metal construction; a wide, stage-stable footprin; durable, custom-machined metal knobs for a sure grip; and precision potentiometers that guarantee knob positions will stay intact.

The rugged, durable construction of Extreme Performance Pedals is just the beginning. Inside each DigiTech HardWire pedal are technological features that serious players require—all updated and improved to their utmost capacity. True bypass preserves the purity of your original tone as signal passes through the pedal, and high voltage operation further protects your sound by eliminating clipping and other signal degradation caused by power drain.

With the high-output pickups found on some electric guitars, it's not unusual to hear clipping when playing through an effects pedal. This occurs when the voltage range produced by a guitar's pickup is greater than the operating voltage of the effects pedal—normally limited to the voltage supplied by the effect's battery or power supply. HardWire pedals incorporate circuitry that increases the operating voltage headroom above that of the typical pedal. As such, HardWire pedals benefit a wider range of guitars and are also at home in an amplifier's effects loop.

Features
  • True Hardwire bypass
  • LED note display + 11 LED tuner array
  • Normal and strobe tuning modes
  • 9VDC battery operation
  • Mute and thru outputs
  • Multiple tuning references

My band has played a few small gigs trying to tune by ear off of a keyboard, and this is never a great idea. you risk human error and the guitars go out of tune during the show either by being bumped or on their own. And although switching back and forth from drop d seems simple, when your on stage and 3 guitars are all trying to tune down at once it gets very hard and looks unprofessional. I use this pedal alot for its mute feature alone that way you can step on it and then switch guitars without going back and turning your amp off. My only trouble with it is sometimes tuneing the E or B string on my basses gets tricky. you must be carefull to not play natural hermonics. sometimes i just tune it on the 12th fret or 5th fret but if your neck is at all warped you still wont be perfect. over all very handy.

Good Tuner Pedal

By Matt

from Ft. Bragg, NC

Before you read this, know that I'm a bassist, not a guitarist. I saw the video hardwire has for it and decided that I HAD TO have it. It tunes your instrument great. HOWEVER, if you're a Bassist (new bassist, especially), know that it does not display the right notes for a bass. It WILL put a bass in tune, but it WON'T show you the right note, even though it is for Guitar AND Bass. I did pop a string while I was tuning one time, though... ... ...

In Tune

By Dr. Lee

For the money this product is a great deal. It is easy to read in all lighting, and allows for multiple tunings ( up or down). Allows muted tunings which is also nice at instrument change time. Tough as nails construction, important for gigging. A winner in my book.

Excellent tuner

By Chris Mentesana

from Lees Summit, MO

I have been playing guitar/bass for 28 years, and this is the best tuner I have ever had. It is accurate, and holds your note for a long time. Anyone who has had chromatic tuners in the past know what I am talking about. When you hit you note and after a second or so the light bounces all over the place and you have to hit the note again, This thing, you hit it once and it holds long enough for you to fine tune your instrument. Highly recommended. Only suggestion to make it better is to include a built-in microphone to tune an acoustic guitar with no electronics.

Great Tuner!!!!

By Chris

from Lees Summit, MO

This is a solidly built stomp box tuner. It works by just plugging in your guitar chord, so you can use it to tune even if you don't want to set up your whole pedal board. True bypass, makes it great to have in the pedal board. This is why I never had one before, because they all seemed to suck some power. This one does not. As far as tuning you guitar. This is better than any portable tuner I have ever used. This is even better than any of the rack tuners I have used over the years. When you hit your string, it does not bounce all over the place, it finds the note and holds it there until it is solid in the middle. I instantly knew I finally found a good tuner after 27 years playing guitar. GC had it on sale for $79 which made it that much better. It is worth every penny of that and more. Get this one!!!!!

Good Pedal

By Rich P.

from Charleston, SC

This is a very easy to use Chromatic tuner. There are two modes of view when tuning, the normal mode or strobe mode make everyone happy with the way you tune. There are notes to the far side that indicate one half step down or a whole step down. This is a big plus when you are using alternate tunings. Easy to read display and very bright for low light settings. I do hear a slight buzz in my amp when tuning though as there may be something in my pedal that is funny but not so much to bother me.

This unit works great but eats batteries

By Douf

A great, user friendly pedal but make sure you get the power supply because it will go through batteries even when not in use.
