The BP200 is a versatile pedal-controlled amp and cabinet modeling processor for the bass guitar. Encased in a rugged aluminum body, this processor can handle the rigors of the road and the daily stomping of a heavy foot, while remaining one of the lightest pieces of gear for a traveling bassist. I have owned my BP200 for a year, and have punished it with daily practices and two-times-a-week gigs. It has proved the quality of its construction! Beyond its ruggedness, the BP200 offers a lot of flexibility in terms of modeling and effects, as well as a customizable expression pedal. There are a total of 80 preset memory slots and 40 factory presets included. I am particularly fond of "Vintage" and "Traced." Setting your own presets are easy, with familiar controls and the customer-contributed settings found at the Digitech Sound Community online. I recommend this product for beginners (especially due to the drum machine and jam-along) as well as more advanced bassists. You'll like it.

When I bought the Digitech BP200 a few years ago when I started playing, I was a little disappointed with my purchase. The factory settings just aren't that good, and the customization features don't make it much better. Overdriven Distortion sounds pretty much the same no matter what brand it comes from, so for that, it is good, but that's one in a range of about a million other distortion pedals. Fretless settings left a lot to be desired, especially the upright setting, and the one known as slapin is terrible for slap. (go figure) I would suggest this to only someone who wants to figure out what kind of effects best suit them, not to use at any given point, because the scrolling nature of this pedal won't let you use it live too well anyway.

Nice!

By Levonious

from Boston, MA

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

This is a good value for the price. I have played bass for about 15 years. I usually don't use pedals, but I like the space effect and the strings effect also. It keeps my interest when I am playing by myself. Very nice. Many effects on one pedal.

Sweeeeeeeeeeet

By Steve D

from Lindenwold, NJ

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I just purchased this earlier this evening, and boy am I impressed. Solid package, with the tones, and effects I need, simple to dial in and store, and I LOVE the amp and cabinet modeling. It's already given the song my band has new dimensions, just by changing the amp and cabinet models. Playing an Ampeg or Mesa amp head through a Fender Bassman or Ampeg 8x10 cab model rocks! Plus the additon of a fretless modeler does wonders or ballads!Highly recommended!

Amazing with one downside

By Eric

from Beaumont, Tx

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

This pedal shows many features such as detailed effect processing, drum machine, variably changing pedal response, and up to 80 save-able patches (setup of drivers, effects, etc). the effects include a variety of choices and only have one downside, only one effect per patch saved the drum machine is not bad considering it is just a throw in when you buy this modeling processor (obviously there are better out there). it allows you to use a variety of drum loops, chance tempo and volume. the pedal response is independent for each patch selected. for a whammy patch, you can program the pedal to change the power of that effect. volume, wah, delay, etc. All in all, this pedal comes ready to plug and play, simple to use, and has many available options! A great buy for any bassist looking to play any genre.

A great tool for live use

By Fuzzball

from Ida, MI

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

My bass player uses this little tool for several reasons, first this unit is lightweight and very portable. The second reason he uses this unit is that it is incredibly easy to use, and third he loves the effects he can make with it. For the most part he did not care for many of the factory presets, but after some adjustment he has customized and saved them the way he likes them. The built in tuner is also very accurate so he uses this as a tuner and an effects processor. With the low price of this unit I would recommend it if you need an effects processor or tuner, why not get more with less. I would highly recommend the BP200.

Good as a first multieffects processor

By Will

from Seattle/ Washington

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I really like this pedal. It is sturdy and a good value. It makes an awesome first processor. Tons and tons of effects to mix and match and choose from. Some of the effects, however, sound very weird and I have no idea when I will use them, but that comes with the hundreds of effects it has. I would recommend this to begginers or people on a budget. If you have a bigger budget, go for something nicer. Overall, its a great value and an awesome multieffects pedal.

Good Cheap Multi effects but,

By kevin

from knoxville TN

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

This thing is great for $150, has pretty much everything on it if you know were to look, but there are a few problems first the instructions for programing were not to clear to me, the descriptions for the effect were not that good that may have been because i have never had an effect pedal before this though, there are no easy stomp box switches to get to different channels with out scrolling, and I did not hear much of a difference on the metal/hard rock distortions when i turned up the gain. Other than that is pretty darn good for a first multi effects, but I might buy a better one later

Pretty nice pedal

By Fargas

from Tijuana, Mexico

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

Well I bought this bass processor about 6 months ago and I have to say I'm really pleased with it. I can get some nice effects on my bass that make some songs in a band sound original and inventive. The BP200 can help you write some bass lines in the style of lead bass and help you emulate some effects you hear on progressive rock bands these days. If you are a bassist and you are looking for an alternative to buying single pedals this is the way to go. Nice work on this one Digitech!!

awesome bass processor

By zachpw91

from Amherst, OH

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

The bassist that plays in my band has one of these, and man does it get him recongnized! This is perfect to make your bass more noticable and more apealing. This is great for that weird bass intro or bass part. So if your into bass effects and need some extra character buy this!

A very good Processor

By Grunger

from Covington, WA

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

This is a fine quality product. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to be able to change the way their bass sounds. Nothing beats the sound of a clean bass, but this is an exception. There are several ways you can change and customize presets. I woud recommend this to anyone.

Great little tool, but...

By Old Bassman

from Salt Lake City, Utah

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I've had mine for about seven months now. It took a little practice to figure out how to change and store the effects for my own tastes, but I finally got there. I use it mainly as a preamp for my passive bass, and for that it is great. Extra lows for mellow songs and extra highs for the rockers, and the Bypass function is nice as well. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the volume pedal and wah pedal settings seem to be their own files, and I still haven't figured out how to tie them in other settings. It would be nice if I could mix and match them. As it is I have to use the volume knob on the bass itself for the intros to a couple of songs. Still, it's a great unit, and I haven't been tempted to replace it.

Great Pedal

By FunkMasta

from College Station, TX

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I just began playing bass at the beginning of the semester, so about since august. This was my first pedal that I picked up a little over a month ago and it has given me so many options as to the type of sound that you can get. It is very user friendly, yet has an extensive arrangement of effects along with adjustments for each effect and 40 user slots to save your own sounds to. This is a wonderful pedal that I would recommend to just about anyone, especially those who have been playing bass around as long as I have. The only reason I gave it a 4.5 is because I have not explored other pedals or setups, and of course there is much much better equipment, but for much more money. This is probably the best 150 dollars I've spent in a long time, and it definitely has been extremely useful and sturdy thus far. I LOVE this pedal and couldn't play without it.

Excellent

By basskidd

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I love it! The effects really enhance my playing, i especially like the nice reverb tone i can get out of this, it makes my squier bass sound great! I also really like the drums option, you can have drums play out of your amplifier and there are different patterns to choose from which has helped me with rhythm. The drums are very clear and nice sounding too and i have a cheap peavey amp. I'd reccomend this bass to any musician who wants a high quality effects pedal for a low price.

Reliabilty that counts

By Ryan

from New jersey

Comments about Digitech BP200 Bass Modeling Processor:

I bought this used from my sisters friends boyfriend( lol) and it was my very first pedal, since then i have aquired many more but i still use this one. I orginaly used to only for my bass, but then one day i used it with my guitar and WOW it sounded awesome. The delay on it is probobly my favorite thing. U can get it really dialed in unlike single delay pedals where its more of a guess and check. U can dial it in by the millasecond by 10 ms at a time. This can be very important on certain songs to get his accurate. Another i really thought was great about it(besides just about everything) is the the expression pedals variability. Just a expression pedal by itself can be expensive and getting that plus the countlesss combinations of effect with the BP200 is a great deal.
