Impressive pedal

This pedal is very good as far as synth goes. It has a lot of features such as another input for a PA system and octave. There are many types of synth bass on this pedal, but i only found one that I would acctually use. All the other effects would rarely be used. This pedal is good for funk and solos. It gives you a very space-like synth. However, the funky synth is by far the best effect in my opinion on this pedal. It gives you a great Flea sounding slap. It's kind of spendy, but if synth is your kind of thing then I would buy it.

Beginner at best

The Bass Synth Wah is packed full of features, but none are particularly useful and many just sound bad. It has 2 envelope filters, 2 synths, 2 filters and an octaver. The envelope filters are okay, but it's very hard to get a good sound out of them -- they're very thin, but touchy (you can accidentally get a lot of distortion when you just want to get a deeper filter sound). The synth sounds are cool, but not especially variable; the filters are just kind of funny sounding -- there's an attempt at making vowel sounds, but they just make people laugh; the octaver has excellent tracking, but I can't get rid of a very high-pitched noise that it makes every time the filter is engaged, which ultimately limits its usefulness. Worst of all, it doesn't play well with other pedals. Most settings give a lot of distortion (from the pedal, not from overdriving the amp) which makes distortion pedals just sound weird. It drives most modulation crazy, causing monstrous, random feedback. Basically, if it's on, everything else in the chain sounds bad. Very versatile, but only for sounds one might not desire. For some reason new players and listeners who don't know of better env. filters really like it, but the BSW is definately not for experienced musicians or players of discriminating taste.

simply awesome

I have owned a lot of bass synth, wah, envelope filter pedals. Mutron, Discumbobulator, Microsynths, SYB-5. The digitech was something I got as part of a trade and I LOVE it. The sounds are very usable. They don't get muddy like many filter types do. There are 7 different settings and they all sounds great. I am amazed with this thing. I have played this with passive precision basses and super acitve (18-volt preamp) basses and it handles them very well. The controls are easy to use, very intuitive and you can get a great sound right from the get go. Highly recommended to anyone that is looking for a great synth type bass pedal.

Good pedal to figure out synth

This pedal has some very basic synth sounds to it. It's a good tool if you want to learn more about using synth, or think you will only use it once in awhile. Anyone looking to play electro-rock or use real, quality synth will not be happy with this pedal. I also experienced a volume drop with my pedal, but that might just have been mine. For not too much more, the Boss Bass Synth provides really good quality bass synth. I ended up buying the Boss not long after getting this one. Do yourself a favor and buy the Boss.

cool toy

This is a really fun pedal to play around with. You can get tons of groovy outerspace funk sounds with it plus its about half the price of the Boss synth wah and kills it on sound, in my opinion.
