I chose this pedal to be my frist for a couple of simple reasons. 1. It has a lot of options to it, so I don't get bored with it, 2. It helps me with a lot of the Rush music I play. I have to say, I was impressed with this pedal. The only thing I have to say was bad about it, was it did not come with the power supply so it only played for like 10 minutes. Other than that, I love the pedal and I will keep it for a very long time. I would reccomend putting skateboard grip tape on the part where you step on the pedal, it is a bit slick.
The bass pedal is the most original and quality bass chorus pedal I have ever had the pleasure of using. By the way, in response, yes, this is the pedal used by Ozzy's bassist. His name is Rudy Sarzo. He played with Ozzy, Quiet Riot, and Whitesnake, and is currently with DIO.
I have not found this pedal to muddy my sound. As long as you have a quality cab/amp, you get a nice chorus effect that retains the aspects of your bass sound that you want keep. I would recommend this pedal.
