Anyone for Tweaking?
This pedal is absolutely GREAT for expreimental players. I personally use it to emulate Tom Morello-esque solos and riffs. But, it is great for any player who really wants to embellish their music with any cool/whimsy effects that this pedal can offer. The only thing I have to complain about is it's axis in the actual pedal. It is just a bit too tight and is hard to get long risen/dropped octave passages in your songs. All in all, a really great buy and very helpful for anyone out there who likes Rage Against the Machine or The White Stripes.

Digitech Whammy
The digitech Whammy is definitely a great pedal to own. The best feature of this pedal is the Drop Tune function. When you are writing a song, you can test different tunings out without actually wasting time and tuning down a whole step. I also really like the Detune funtion. It gives your guitar that "Orgy" sound that can be found on their "Vapor Transmission Album. The only thing that I dislike about this pedal is the price. If it was little less expensive I think more people would own it.

The Best Pedal I Own.
This is a great pedal. Actually, It's amazing!
I've got 12 pedals, like flanger, phaser, distortion, delay, reverb, wah but this is the best! I use it all the time, I feel naked playing without my whammy. It's not a deifficult choice - Buy it! It's worth every cent!

Nice, but can be problematic
I really enjoy using this pedal, but I must say that it can be hard to get things "right on" when doing pitch changes. If you set it to go up an octave, for instance, it can be hard to get it to go up EXACTLY an octave from heel to toe.

Great Pedal... Worth the hefty price
the title says it all. this is an excellent pedal for anyone that likes to play old van halen or other music where a whammy bar would be needed, but you dont want to have to worrry about the wammy bar screwing with your tuning. the main reason i bought this is because my band was going to cover audioslaves "like a stone." great pedal buy now.

Who needs a whammy bar?
This is Digitech's one-of-a-kind Whammy pedal, made in an attempt to get us to stop pulling our instruments out of tune. I'd say it's the best whammy pedal out there, and it certainly is better than its predecessors, but there is no real competition.
It has a ton of features controlled by too few knobs. There is only the expression pedal, on/off stomp and selector knob to control the 17 different operational modes. This version of the whammy (IV, I believe) has the option of midi control, but that's more trouble than it's worth to set up.
The only other issue I've had with this pedal is its occassionally poor tracking (it has issues with Bass).
Otherwise, the Whammy is brilliant. It lets you do pretty much everything a real whammy bar can do, but more accurately and consistently. It can detune and divebomb just like the real thing.
Even more useful are its nine different harmony functions -- the expression pedal selects between two different harmonic intervols and leaves the original note in the signal. If you're good with your foot, there are some odd noises and plain weird possibilities to be had. The pedal is only really meant to toggle, but it has the full range between the harmonies, so some very interesting, dissonent tones are to be had.
Overall the Whammy IV is very cool and surprisingly useful, though not without its fauts.

amazing!...but one thing
this pedal is an amazing addition to a pedal board. it sounds even better running through a Bad Monkey. it takes up a little more room then a wah-wah but other then that its awsome. the thing is...it may have a metal enclosure but dont stomp it to hard. the electronics and the laser reader inside have an attendancey to get jumbled and sometimes kill all other effects being used. when this happens it also takes down your volume by about 75%. great for fans of Tom Morello and Jack White. this is a MUST BUY pedal.

The one and only
In my opinion this is the only octave pedal worth paying for. It has so many features that are easily manipulated with the flick of your foot. It is also an incredibly simple pedal to use too. Chorus, Harmonizing, Dive Bombs, Drop Tuning, and of course the Octave manipulator (or Whammy as it is more commonly known). The only slight problem is that it is difficult to accurately change effects on the fly. Worth every penny.

Awesome pedal
This pedal is great ... a bunch of pitch/octave effects that you can't do without once you've played with this thing. Personally I really like the flexibility this gives you with solos - from harmonizing to octave shifting, it's awesome. I recently started messing around with the detune effects - in my setup it gives this echo/reverb/chamber sounding tone. Anyway, the Whammy pedal is a must have for any guitar player looking to expand their sound!
