This pedal outperforms the TC Helicon pedals significantly. Though it can sound a little digital if not set up right, a little tweaking will have you singing your favorite songs with a full background of harmonies. Make sure you plug your guitar in, as it reads your chords to determine the key of harmonies.
I suggest putting the pitch correction at about 2, Humanize at 5 and Harmony at 3 (if stereo; if mono at 4).
I bought the Vocalist Live 3 as an upgrade from my Vocalist Live 2. I'm a solo acoustic player, and needed the additional flexibility to create patches to change between 2 and 3 part harmonies of a bridge and chorus. The VL3 has corrected some of the short comings of the VL2, and added some awesome features like pitch correction and effects from the VL4.
Whether you're a solo player, or in a band that is in desperate need of back-up harmonies, this box will do the trick.
You'll get more gigs, make better music, and make more money...!!!

Very Nice...But The Footswitches Are WAY TOO LOUD...
If It Wasn't For Those LOUD Footswitches...this would be a great little unit. Picked it up Friday from Guitar Center in Richmond. I really like it...accept for those foot switches. There is a very loud double click that comes through like broken glass when recording. The 3rd & 5th harmonies are pretty good...the 7th's, and octaves, not so much. The higher harmonies are better than the lower ones, at least for my already deep voice. The pitch correction is OK I suppose if used at 50% or less. It's not really gonna create any magic for you anyway, but it will smooth things a bit...and won't sound over processed if you keep below that 50%. The gender bender doesn't work that well, again at least for my voice.
If it wasn't for those footswitches, I'd give it 5...and keep this processor. But for my set up, and purpose...the switches are just too loud for recording, and is a little bit of an annoyance for folks listening as well. Perhaps if you're trying to use it with a full band, there would be enough ambient noise to cover it.
