Weep, wail, and moan with blues-drenched tone.

The DigiTech Screamin' Blues Overdrive Distortion Pedal is designed for guitarists who need a pedal that gives them total control of their tone and is highly responsive to playing dynamics. Playing the Screamin' Blues pedal lightly produces mild overdrive, but dialing up the gain and digging in hard makes it sing with ultrarich harmonics and sustain. Low and High tone controls give you the flexibility to boost or cut the bass and treble frequencies. The Level knob boosts the output level of your signal, and the Gain knob dials up the distortion. An Amp output on the DigiTech Screamin' Blues pedal goes to your amplifier and the dedicated Mixer output has a cabinet emulation circuit that lets you run direct into a mixer or recorder when you don't want to lug your amp along.

DigiTech Screamin' Blues Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal Features:

  • High, Low, Level, and Gain controls
  • Amp and recording/mixer outputs

Different, but not better

I went into Guitar Center looking for an overdrive pedal. I'd read about the Bad Monkey and Screamin Blues and have owned a Boss BD2 in the past. Seems like there was lots of love for the Bad Monkey. I had recently bought a Peavey Prowler (similar to the Classic 30) which has an excellent clean channel but a not so great overdrive/distortion. It's fine if you want a really high gain sound, but that's not what I was after. I wanted just a bit more edge to the clean channel and compared the Bad Monkey to the Screamin Blues. Basically, they sound pretty similar. The Screamin Blues can get dirtier or edgier, but the 'on the edge of breakup' sound is simply done better with the Bad Monkey. On the other hand, if you aren't sure exactly what you are looking for, but you know you don't want a super crazy distortion pedal, the Screamin Blues is probably a bit more versatile. It provides most of what the Bad Monkey does, but can also get you into a bit heavier sound more like classic rock rather than just blues sounds. I'd say they are equally good, but different. For my needs, I got the Bad Monkey. One thing's for sure, they are excellent values.

So much fo so little

THIS PEDAL IS ABSOLUTLY AMAZING.If you are like me and would like to get a good quality intense pedal, that really makes having the blues worth it, without spending a fortune this is the pedal for you. Its almost as if the pedal is alive. It responds to your playing with more fire with the harder stums, with power in the light ones. It amplifies the sound of pinch harmonics, so there isn't any need to strain. Its just one amazing pedal that will really bring out the blues. Chances are if you have the blues, you don't have the money to buy an expensive pedal. And with this one you would need it!!!

Great analog overdrive from Digitech

The Digitech Screamin'Blues Overdrive is surprisingly,an analog pedal from a company known for it's digital products. Whatever the technology, this is a seriously good overdrive pedal.I've owned this pedal since they came out several years ago and it just refuses to leave my pedalboard. The overdrive range goes from clean to a vintage Marshall-like classic rock overdrive. This pedal is very transparent. It won't color your amps tone unless you set the bass and treble controls to do so.I've tried much more expensive overdrives and this one keeps coming out on top.For blues, country, and classic rock this is a great choice at a great price.

Blues tone

This pedal will give you a good boost if you need it. It has a decent overdrive sound. Unfortunately, this pedal gets really bad hum at high volumes. For the price, it's not bad, but i would suggest getting the Ibanez Tube Screamer instead or just getting a real tube amp to get that overdriven sound. But if you just need a boost for soloing, this pedal will do it.

Very Good Pedal

Actually a VERY good all-around pedal for all types of music. Gain can be cranked up to allow for a everything from a blues tone (DUH!), to punk rock and everything in between. The price makes this one of the better values for the money that you can buy.
