NEW REVIEW - Not That Awesome
Yeah, yeah. I know I shouldn't expect much from a lower-end product like this, but come on. I popped in some fresh alkaline batteries. I have to admit the wah was pretty cool. Unfortunately, that was the only effect I got to try out. The pedal stopped working about five minutes after I turned it on.
I called Digitech's tech support. The guy was unfriendly and uninterested. Turns up this model is discontinued and Digitech isn't too keen on providing support for it.
Worst thing is, I got this the same day I was set to leave for vacation, so I couldn't deal with the problem right away. I'll be turning to Guitar Center for help with this one. Don't expect much from Digitech.

Just Great!
I chose this to be my very first foot pedal. I wanted a multi-effects pedal that could do it all! If u have a good amp, and good guitar, then the distortion is great. I have a Spider III 15 and the distortion gets as good as the METAL channel! Of course it's not the best distortion, but it's great! And if you know how to record from it on your computer, then you will see that the distortion and effects are much better than out of the amp. It also sounds really cool through a stereo system or surround sound. I think that you will find the most useless feature on this pedal is the "DRUMS" it's not easy to play with a repeating drumline. And my personal favorite feature is the COMPRESSOR! It makes loud noises softer so you can hear the quiet noises. And for some reason, it gives more distortion when applied. If you like to hear the "pluck" when you pluck the strings, the compressor enables you to hear that. And then there is a tuner! It is a great tuner if you let the strings ring for about 2 seconds. But wait theres more! The noise gate doesn't effect the distotion! And last but not least, you get a pickup simulator. the SH gives you a warm, smooth tone. the HS gives you a cool, rough, poppy tone that will enable you to hear more of the "pluck" and if you like the "grinding" tone, then it gives you "grind" I can go on and on about this pedal, and it was under $100. But you have to hear it to believe it. It's very easy to use and there is one bad thing. You don't get the AC adaptor for it, and it costs an extra 10 or 15 bucks. But you dont really need it because it runs on 6 AA batteries! So I hope that this review helped you! I wish i could give you all the info on this, wonderful product!

This Is Awesome
I've been an acoustical player for about 20 years now and decided (my boys told me to grow up) to get "amplified" Bought an Epiphone SG, Fender amp, AND headphones. After a few weeks, I decided to add a little spice – playing Brian Adam's "Love a Woman" on the Ep through an amp just didn't cut it.
Bought the RP55, taught myself a little AC/DC, AeroSmith, Eagles (my favorite band) and I was hooked! This little pedal is phenomenal!!! You have to hear it to believe it. The 40 factory presets cover anything and everything that I'd ever do, and then some. Lord only knows what I'm going to do with the other 40 but I'm sure my boys are mapping that one out. The good thing is that I can grow into this then upgrade when it's outlived it's life (in about 10 years).
To quote another reviewer "It may take some time to get used to messing with it and finding the right stuff for you, but other than that, ITS GREAT!!! I recommend this for any guitarist of any age and experience."
Thank you for taking the time to read this review and I hope it helps.

Great Pedal at a Great Price
I recently picked up this pedal as a cheap "beater" that I could take to a friends house and leave without worrying about it. I expected basic effects - distortion, flanger, phaser, etc... boy was I surprised! This things come loaded with a whole host of fully editable sounds including acoustic simulation. There are 40 presets in which you'll probably find the sound you're looking for. Some are just weird and obviously meant for Yoko and Bjork but most are good useful sounds. The down side is that you have to "scroll" through the effects (up or down) using the two foot pedals. So if you need to change effects in a song you may have to go from say effect 3 to 27 - not very practical. The upside is the 40 user preset available. Just use these to store the effects you need in sequence and walah! problem solved. This really is an amazing pedal for the price. Individual pedals would cost 10 times this much and still would not give you the editing power the Digitech does. The drummer is a nice feature if you just want to sit around and jam to a beat though it is not very realistic nor does it give you many options. But it is still easy to use and gives fun accompaniment. This is definitely worth every penny. The construction seems sturdy enough to last a long time. I am not giving it five stars - it earned them honestly.

WOW!! FREAKIN EPIC!!
wow is all I can say for this pedal. It really puts out if you're definitely on a budget, or just want something to jam with. I just bought this like a few days ago and it was amazing, and that was just a few seconds out of the box!! It really has studio quality effects, I can cover "The Devil Wears Prada" no sweat!! It may take some time to get used to messing with it and finding the right stuff for you, but other than that, ITS GREAT!!! I recommend this for any guitarist of any age and experience. Also, this would go great with the epiphone les paul jr. pack as a gift, great pedal for a great price. THANKS DIGITECH!!
