Get the best of both worlds with the DigiTech RP500 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal. The RP500 features a Pedalboard mode that allows you to turn on and off individual stompboxes and effects by pushing buttons 1-5. You get the expressiveness of stompboxes and you can change them from preset to preset. Next take the Amp/Cabinet Bypass button that defeats the internal amplifiers and cabinets leaving you with only stompboxes and effects and you have a switching machine. Save each combo in a preset for a uniquely switchable pedal setup found only in pro switching systems.
The RP500 Multi Effects Pedal is built like a tank, from a cast metal chassis to the 9 vacuum-style switches. A large 10 character LED display makes for easy stage use topped by an built-in expression pedal to control wahs, volume, Whammy™ and other parameters.
Your sound is king so having control of your sound is imperative. The DigiTech RP500 pedal gives you the control to express yourself the way you want—no longer will the lack of control stand in the way of your expression.

I have been using pedals for awhile, including the RPs, I wanted to up grade to a bigger pedal board to eliminate some pedals, I tried the Boss multi- effects, (sounds all the same no change in distortions) Zoom, Line 6. But the new Rp 500 is by far the best on the market. All my stompboxes are by digitech and they even work with the RP 500 without bypassing. If I were you go get one, You'll love it.
This thing is awesome! I started with the rp350, but this blows it away and is actually like a real pedal board. Couldn't really do that with the 350. It is very easy to figure out and the manual does explain things well. For live use it will serve your needs greatly and it is built tough.
I finally broke down and picked up an RP500. Im an old school tube amp & pedals guy, and resisted one of these units for a long time.
After researching all the units in the price range, I settled on the RP500. It sounds good, is built like a tank and didnt require an aerospace degree to understand it.
The effects are as good as anything out there, and the amp/cabinet models are very useable.
The factory presets arent so great, but they are a solid starting point for creating your own sounds.
Ive heard some people say this unit is only for metal tones, and thats just false.
This unit make some very convincing blues, country and classic rock sounds as well.
No, its doesnt have that tube "feel" or the harmonics of a hot tube amp, but, it has a very convincing simulation, and it doesnt break the bank either.
Overall I am very satisfied with this product, and coming from me (hater of all things digital) thats a glowing endorsement.
One thing to note.
If you are using the amp & cabinet simulators, dont plug into a guitar amp, even into the loop return . It just wont sound good.
Get a keyboard amp, or small PA system and plug in, you'll be amazed at the tones you can produce.
