Digitech RP500 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
I have been looking for a new mulit-effects processor for a while now and I haven't had much luck. I have had trouble finding one that had a lot of strong effects in it, that was simple to use on stage. This model beats every other multieffects processor in its price range. I love the idea that you can make 40 different preset chains on it and then turn each individual effect off and on at will during a song. It's like having 40 custom boards at your feet.
Another bonus is that it had an internal amp and cabinet simulator. This helps so much when you want to just plug right into the board, instead of the hassle of miking your amps.
This system rocks and I would recommend it to anyone that wants a GREAT processor at a reasonable price.

An Effects Station for Every Style Desired!
I was very pleased with this purchase. I have played guitar for many years, almost my whole life now and normally I tend to play straight through my amp and use overdrive or not for my playing. I wanted to get a new multi effects pedal as the one I purchased years ago by ART I didnt feel was a very good one, nor did it have a wide variety of great sounds.
With this Effects pedal I found not only does it have amazing sounds, but it has so many effects for every style of playing. I tend to play different styles so this was great for me. I absolutely love the fact that you can create your own, and adjust the Amp's as well. This pedal has more then anyone can dream of offering at least for me.
I have been enjoying playing my different guitars and find that I am playing more now with this pedal then I ever did straight through an amp on it's own.
I also love the fact that it has the built in Wah pedal too, one thing my last effects center did not have.
I would highly recommend this effects center for anyone who enjoys playing different styles, and who wants to have a unit with a lot to offer!

The best in multi- effects
I have been using pedals for awhile, including the RPs, I wanted to up grade to a bigger pedal board to eliminate some pedals, I tried the Boss multi- effects, (sounds all the same no change in distortions) Zoom, Line 6. But the new Rp 500 is by far the best on the market. All my stompboxes are by digitech and they even work with the RP 500 without bypassing. If I were you go get one, You'll love it.

Amazing
The metal chassis is solid and everything sounds great, had to replace a plastic Zoom 606 after 3+ years of abuse. Bought this with my rebate check; the wahs sounds spectacular and i'm gonna try to fill up all 100 sound banks with my own tones. The built-in Whammy, amp/cabinet simulators and Cubase are worth the price of admission alone.

Perfect Pedal
I've had my RP500 since last September. It was perhaps the most important purchase I made since buying my first guitar. This pedal has been my best friend on stage, bringing me really cool tones and effects without a whole mess of cables and power supplies. If you bought every single effect on here individually, you'd be spending thousands of dollars. My favorite effect is the whammy. No one can make a pitch shifter like Digitech can. Now, the amp sounds may not be as cool as Boss, but this pedal is still the best choice. For the money, you get way more than the ME-50 or 70 or GT-10.The free Cubase software is great. It is studio grade and is fairly easy to use. Also, the X-Edit controller works really well. Just be careful not to hit any footswitches when using X-Edit. Now the low points. The wah doesn't sound that great, but it will do for beginners. The wah is way too easy to activate. Sometimes when I'm heavy on the whammy, the wah will turn on, killing a great Rage Against the Machine solo. This is avoidable, but you have to be careful. These are the only problems I have had with this product and I wouldn't let them stop me from getting one. For those of you who think this is too complex to control, it really is very simple. Just read the manual once or twice and you'll get it. As for the reliability, this pedal has never malfunctioned once and it really is built like a tank. Also, I like the tuner feature. If you're also looking at the RP1000, I would stick with this unless you absolutely must have the looper. This one is lighter, plus the extra footswitches on the 1000 don't give you much of a control advantage; they only change presets. I hope this freakishly long review has helped you people decide whether or not this is the pedal for you. Thanks for reading. Rock on.

Wow.
I bought the rp500 without ever playing it. I am so glad I did, this pedal is amazing. It suits to ANY style of playing. I would recommend this product to anyone. It has helped my playing out a lot. Plus, Cubase is pretty awesome.

Plug in, rock out!
Like most gear hounds, I own lots of different guitar effects and processors from various companies, but the RP500 is a significant step up from all of them, most notably for three things; ease of use, versatility, and sound quality. And speaking of the sound (which is ultimately why we get these things in the first place) I have to say that DigiTech is as close as ever to "nailing it" when it comes to modelling. I'm pretty much an entrenched modelling user now, as this unit serves my needs and simplifies my life on stage or in the studio. Just send it direct to a PA, a mixer, an amp, or an interface and be prepared to be blown away. Aside from a couple of very minor issues I have with it, I'd say right now this the best effects processor out there in ANY price range (except for, I guess, the DigiTech RP1000). The bundled X-Edit software is VERY cool, as is Cubase (although I mostly use ProTools and Logic) and the manual is actually useful (bonus!). So if you need a processor that gives you maximum sound and control at minimum cost and fuss, this is the answer.

Fine
This Multi effects Pedal is awesome. It works really fine with my marshall MG100HDFX, at first many amp emulators didn't sound too well for me, but after a little configuration of eqs and levels of gain, etc , they get amazing.
chorus and flanger are superb. wah also.
And the best thing is that you can practice without a amp.

Amazing Buy
I ordered the Digitech RP500 to be able to have all the effects that I need for the wide range of music that I play. This device has lived up to and surpassed my expectations. Even after playing with it for hours, it seems I am finding something new about it that I didnt know. The amount of combinations that are possible are amazing. With the RP500 you will never have a lack of inspiration.

Great Effects Pedal - Easy to Use
The RP500 is a great system. The stompbox feature gives you great flexibility while playing and is very easy to use. The amount of different sounds it can produce is tremendous. I use mine plugged directly into the sound system at church and it has a great sound to it. No need for amps, cabinets, multiple effects pedals and such because this thing can do it all. I am very pleased. I especially like the ability to hook it up to my computer and edit the settings that way. It makes it a lot easier.
