Not bad--but not great
I purchased mine about five months ago. I also experienced problems with the unit "freezing up." I later found through trial and error that this was caused by having the thing hooked into my computer with X-Edit running and then editing the patches with the on-board knobs. Lesson learned: edit using on-board controls or with X-Edit--but this thing will not allow you to use either at the same time. This caveat is not mentioned in the owner's manual, even though DigiTech engineers were apparently aware of the problem before they even put these on the market.
The software should be included with the unit--instead of making the user go online and download it. In addition, DigiTech has been dragging its feet in producing software that is Vista compatible. This would get high marks across the board if it were not for DigiTech's non-existent customer support and refusal to stay current with microsoft and Apple OS demands. They should also issue Linux versions.

More than what I expect
When I first saw this pedal, I made a serious consideration about it since it is a multi-fx; I usually thought they might sound too digital. After a long time thinking I decided to buy it.
Once I began to play around with the RP350's different effects and amp models, I was completely blown away. I mean, who can come up with something so portable and yet can nearly emulate some of the popular effects used? It sounds so natural and so realistic, especially the pitch shifting effects that I long to use and love. And it's nearly indestructible, too, with its metal chassis!
If there is anything wrong about this at all, it's probably the amp/cab models and the interface of the unit itself. The amp/cab models sond very weak at best, but with a little tweaking, it sounds very decent. Also the interface is a bit confusing to use, so reading the manual is a must. But these are minor problems and shouldn't be a very big issue.
Overall, I would recommend this pedal for those who want multi-effects without the pro price. But I would suggest trying it first, though.

AMAZING PEDAL
I used to only use BOSS products thinking that those were the best pedals ever, but news for you, their not! DIGITECH is my pedal company from now on. This thing is amazing, incredible, unbelievable. I played this through my guitar for hours and hours. My favorite presets are Acoustic Simulator, Guitar to Bass, and Fuzzer. Its also got an expression pedal that is a volume pedal, wah-wah pedal, and an expression pedal. Seriously for the price of this thing, its a must. You can also choose from like 50 different amp models and cabnets. AMAZING PEDAL!

RP350
I bought the RP350 about 2 weeks ago, and it has not yet disappointed me. You can tweak this thing to your own sound or you can go for any musician's sound that you like. All the features on this are amazing. I'm in love with the wah pedal and the five reverb settings. With minor tweaking to the Hendrix preset and using the wah control, you can make, what I think is the exact sound of Voodoo Child. All of the presets are great, I'm not that fond of the Metal presets though; but it just isn't my style. I guess my only complaint to this would be that my computer runs on Windows Vista, and there isn't any X-Edit software on the DigiTech site compatible with Vista. DigiTech does though note that they are working toward Vista compatible software, but for now I wait.

One of the best multi-effects units out there
This thing sounds pretty good, although I would like to hear some more beef from the amp models. Than again with all the features, it's not a big deal. In fact when you record something from the RP350 into the computer, it sounds great! The sound is clear, warm, punchy, whatever you want it to be. The other day I figured out you could run the effects into the amp, using the amp's overdrive (not the RP350's) and I can't put it down now. The effects are modeled very well, and there are so many of them.

If you play guitar, buy it
This thing is amazing, all the factory effects are really easy to use and adjust to your like, it has so many options for each and every amp mode and effect it will be your new toy for a while.
If you plan on buying at least two effects in the next two years or so, don't, get this and you will have tons of them for less than the price of two regular pedals and it has the usb connection on top of it to make it super easy to record your songs and play leads to your own tunes and the included drum machine has many settings for any kind of music you plan to play.
I spent a few hours looking through a few effects at the stores and this was the most amazing. Even compared to units twice its price this one performs a lot better.
The only con that i found is that you need to download the software and drivers from their website and if you have a slow connection you will be very dissapointed. Once you use it you will forget the download time... make sure to keep a backup of the downloads.

Good, until going big
I bought one of these christmas of last year, right before the price cut. And it was good, my friend had an older model so i already knew what i was doing when i got it, but as of the last few months i've been playing in a metal band, and i changed from 15w amp to a full on halfstack, and i refuse to use my digitech. So pretty much it's fun for awhile, but once you actually focus in on playing a more defined range of music, you'll want to look in to actual pedals, maybe other multi-fx.

RP 350
Great processor for the beginning guitarist that is not sure of what sound they are looking for to make a commitment to. Lots of capabilities, great sound quality and potential. Good for the home player/ novelist or someone who has a lot of time alone to piddle with all that it has to offer. You could very easily get lost in all of the options and never learn any new music/ songs-- be aware. I actually traded mine in for the RP500, a more stage ready beast. I am very satisfied, the stereo sound is incredible and versitale. What ever artist sound that you like can be dailed up and saved on your own 100 presets! A word of advice though, keep or get an overdrive/ boost to kick up over the top for leads other than that ROCK ON!!!
