NEW REVIEW - One little glitch

I've been using the RP150 for about five years. It was getting pretty ratty, so my wife gave me the RP250 for Christmas. I love this pedal! The effects are cleaner and easier to personalize than with previous Digitechs, and the USB port combined with the included software allows me to swap song/lick ideas with other band members in between rehearsals. The only flaw I've found is the looper...it works well enough, but we play a wide variety of styles, frequently with one song segueing into the next. The fact that holding the "arrow down" pedal down for 2 seconds throws you into looper mode instead of zooming you into the right voicing for the next song can be a real pain.

Best Multi Effects Pedal

I got this a week ago, and so far I love it. It has 60 presets to start you out, and there's room for 60 of your own. This machine is very durable yet still looks cool. When making your own effects, there are endless combinations you can make by using different distortion, amps, wah, flanger, etc. The Wah and Whammy effects are my favorites, but I use every single effect for playing different songs and different styles of music. You can play Metallica to country to Tom Morello. This is a must have for every guitarist, I definitely recommend it.

This Thing is Amazing

I just got the RP250 a week ago. Looks like it was replaced with the RP255. From what I can see they are the same thing (may a couple extra effects/models in the RP255) - though the RP250 was only $99. Still, for $149 this is a bargain. The effects sound genuine and the amp/cabinet models are very good. Programming interface is a little tough because of all that you have to control through a few buttons and 4 knobs. This is solved with the software you can download from DigiTech. S/W is simple to use and allows you to easily program up new effects chains and models - way easier than trying to do the same across multiple stomp boxes. Took about 4min to get up and running. Follow the instructions on Digitech.com The USB interface allows you to record on your PC (I use Audacity). PC playback goes back through the device into the amp and allows you to record more tracks at the same time - cool for when you want to layer a few tracks. The presets kept me busy for the first 10 hours, but then I had to start tweaking them to get sounds to preference. But they make a great starting point to put together your own sounds. I am absolutely happy I bought this. No matter the level of musician this thing is a great fit - ease of use, variety of effects/models, portability, ease of programming, and recording aid. Hope this helped.

Great machine

This thing is so cool! Amp, stompbox and cabinet simulator are so great, I can completely create my favorite tone. The USB interface comes to make a perfect processor that I wanted! It's also a very beautiful machine. I love Digitech!

Great Pedal

this is a great pedal. the settings are very precise and can tweat to match tones to perfection. it also has a 20 second looper which is fun to play with. i would highly recommend this pedal. i also see a comment from someone giving it three stars. he complained saying that if you want to turn off distortion, you have to stop and scroll down and turn it off. disreguard that comment for it is done by one hit of your foot. the whole point of the presets is to tune distortion on in one, then off in another. that simple. *there are 120 presets to fill*
