Everything You Need For Recording Bass

I bought the Digitech BP80 Bass Effect Pedal primarly because of the price, but also because I own a GNX2 processor for my guitar and love it to death. I have a home recording studio and this pedal does everything I need for my Fender P and fretless bass, even though the pedal has an excellent setting for a fretless effect that works just as well as my fretless bass! When I am lazy I just punch in the effect and use my P bass, you could never tell the difference. This pedal models every amp head and combination of amp bottoms you could ever want to have with your bass and then gives you every conceivable effect you could think of for a bass, or any instrument really, and the expression pedal to make them all work to the exact degree which you desire at any given time. Throw in the Bass tuner convenient enough to use between songs live and adjustable for any pitch adjustments you might need or want. It is a rugged little bugger and can handle anything you throw at it in a live setting, so stomp the hell out of it with your boots of spanish leather. Within my studio setting, I use it more like a percision tool in giving me the exact tone and effect I need for any song for which I am laying down tracks. It has tons of preprogrammed settings, but I prefer to develop my own which the pedal allows me to store for future use. I don't think I have ever had the same tone twice out of this pedal, unless I wanted it. I highly recommed this unit and most anything else I have or have tested by Digitech.

Good first processor

This is a good buy if you are looking for something to change up the bass sound, and not break the bank on a lot of single pedals. You can change tempos and beats on the drum feature to fit your needs, and the tuner is a great feature. The only drawback I see is the digital readout for the effects that you choose. It would be better if they were alpha for a quick change if you need it, but I would recommend that you give it a try!

Great for experimenting/good value

I was very impressed with the amount of features available on this processor. With 40 preset effects, and plenty of room for your own, this is great for a player, like me, who just wants to try to change up their sound, and they aren't sure quite what they want. The other great feature is the tuner, which is actually pretty simple to use. The only downside to this pedal is that it does feel a little cheap, and I wish that the main pedal had a little more resistance to it, like a traditional whammy pedal. Other than that, great value, and a great addition to a bass player's arsenal.

Make your bass scream

This multi-effect pedal is great for anyone looking to change the sound of their bass. The pedal is very easy to use and has such a variety of sounds that you can make. I really like the pedal used with the different wah settings. This really makes my bass solos stand out when playing with my band and everyone asks me how I make some of the effects. You can't beat the price also. I recommend this to any bassist looking to make their sound a little more unique.

It's cool but I will upgrade!!!!!

This thing has a lot of cool sounds. It's also really easy to use and hook up. The only problem that I have really is that you have to "scroll" to every sound. there isn't a quick choice to different sounds. That can be really frustrating. All in all, it's not a bad product. Eventually I'll upgrade to a line 6 bass pod or a Boss. Both are $399.
